    Al -Makura ahead in Nasarawa

    Nasarawa state governor, Tanko Al- Makura has taken an early lead in the results announced Sunday morning by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lafia, the state capital.

    The governor is ahead of the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and former minister of Information, Labaran Maku as well as the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Yusuf Agabi in four out of 13 local government announced so far.

  • Ganduje heading for landslide in Kano

    The All Progressive Congress in Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi umar Ganduje, is coasting to a landslide victory in Saturday’s governorship election in the state going by the results released at the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters in Kano on Sunday.

    The results released at exactly 12:15pm showed that Ganduje won in 20 out of the 44 local government areas in the state.

    Ganduje, who is also the Deputy Governor of the state, secured a total of 642,047 votes.

    El-Rufai floors Yero in 12 Kaduna LGAs

    From the results of gubernatorial election so far collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 15 of the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, the All Progressives Congress has won 12 local government areas, leaving the ruling People’s Democratic Party with just three local governments.

    Results of the remaining eight local government areas were still being awaited at the INEC headquarters in Kaduna as at the time of filing this report.

    The collation exercise is presently on break to allow more results to come in and allow people take lunch and pray. Collation resumes at 2pm.

    However, from the results, PDP won in Kajuru Local government with 21,296 to APC’s 18,522.

    In Jama’a, PDP has 45,272 to APC’s 39,760. The party defeated APC with 21,296 to 18,522 in Kauru local government.

    The opposition won the remaining 12 local government areas as follows: ‎Kubau: APC 53,934, PDP 14,034‎. Kagarko: APC 24,846, PDP 15,413‎. Ikara: APC 37,521, PDP 16,836‎. Makarfi: APC 37,759, PDP 11,084‎. Soba: APC 55,836, PDP,12,743. ‎Kudan: APC 31,563, PDP 11,025 and Kaura: APC 22,190, PDP 15,936.

    Others are – Sabongari: APC. 61,107, PDP,12,504. Kaduna North: APC 106,915, PDP 12,465‎‎. Chikun: APC 36,920, PDP 27,248‎. Giwa: APC 48,248, PDP 14,197‎. Igabi: APC 88, 361, PDP 20,180‎ and‎ Kaduna South: APC 120,535, PDP 15,665‎.

  • Adamawa guber results

    Results from seven local government officially announced by INEC in Adamawa state showed that APC is leading with 99,604 votes, followed by SDP with 56,228, PDP 27,188 and PDM 7,697.

    APC won in four local goverments, while SDP won in three.

    The LGs where APC won are Maiha, Yola south, Song, and Girei.

    SDP won in Madagali, Michika and Lamurde.

  • INEC declares Amosun winner of Ogun poll

    INEC declares Amosun winner of Ogun poll

    Governor Ibikunle Amosun has been declared winner of Ogun State governorship election.

    The state’s Collation and Returning Officer, Prof. Duro Oni, who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos, declared that Amosun polled the highest number of votes in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

    Amosun polled 306, 988 votes, while Gboyega Isiaka of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 201, 440.

    The governor won in 11 local government areas, while his PDP challenger clinched nine LGAs.

    The results obtained by other candidates are listed below:
