Dwellers of Rugar Rafi, Bauchi need timely intervention

NEMA

SIR: I write to draw the attention of Bauchi State government as well as zonal power moulders concerned to the untold plight of the aforenamed community as a result of over-flooding that has led to their evacuation from their indigenous settlement to neighboring villages.

These community residents are experiencing devastating deprivations after the disastrous flooding that occurred just of recent. This has left them stranded, with no homes to live in and neither food to eat.

Sadly, the victims of the aggravating event are now groaning from the severe hunger (starvation) that can lead to their death if urgent remedy measures are not decisively taken.

However, members the House of Representatives and Bauchi State House of Assembly representing the community should as a matter of urgency write to seek intervention by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), with the aim of providing palliatives to the victims in order to ease their wallowing in this difficulty.

Furthermore, Bauchi State government should address their plight to the state agency that is responsible for this kind of incident, the State Emergency Management (SEMA), so that it can come to their aid by furnishing them with food, building materials, clothes and other material losses experienced by the good people of Rugar Rafi community.

We know that the state government is apparently tardy towards issues that require immediate attention. But this community is in desperate need of rescue by all concerned authorities for the purpose of easing their difficulties at this trying time.
