Eight people have being killed in 11 local government areas in the wake of the recent flood occasioned by heavy downpour in Bauchi.
Coordinator of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Dr Abubakar Umar Gabarin made the disclosure yesterday while briefing newsmen in Bauchi, the state capital, saying that the flood which wreaked havoc in 57 villages affected 567 people.

Giving a breakdown of the casualties, he said three died in Ningi, three in Gamawa, one in Jama’are and one in Toro.
Gabarin said farms, livestock, and other properties worth over N200,000,000 were lost.
Director of Research and Statistics of the Agency, Adamu Nayola, said the agency has advised the affected residents in the riverine areas to relocate before the peak of the rains.
