Emir Sanusi steals the show

Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, is an outspoken man and he doesn’t have the habit of hiding words.

To celebrate Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who turned 60 recently, Nigeria’s political class gathered in Kaduna. Although it was meant to be a celebration moment for El-Rufai, it didn’t stop Sanusi from raising important issues in the north, which caught the attention of all and sundry.

He said no Nigerian leader of northern extraction should be happy given the sorry state of insecurity, education, poverty, health care, nutrition and almajiri problem in that part of the country.

The event was also attended by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole; Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki; Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed. They praised the celebrant and spoke on challenges facing Nigeria as a country.
