Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Mr. Afolabi Afuape has advised the caretaker chairmen across the 20 local governments to ensure fair distribution of the relief items promised the people.
He said Governor Dapo Abiodun is set to distribute packaged bags for at least an average of four people per household, adding that each packaged bag contained consumable food items.
The commissioner said the governor also promised to give residents sanitisers, to ensure their safety and healthy living.
Afuape said that the state government had set up a COVID-19 committee headed by Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, noting that this was replicated at the local government level, which was chaired by the transition chairmen, with other members drawn from Local Community Development Associations (LCDA) chairmen, Baales, Iyalojas, Permanent Secretaries and Directors from Public Service, representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), League of Imams/Alfas and also some elected state and local government appointees.
