Popular media personality, Esther Adekeye has sought the total eradication of malaria in Africa alongside Prince Ned Nwoko, a former member of the House of Representatives.

In a recently-held tweet chat, Adekeye said the continent deserves better conditions of living healthier, adding that malaria should become a thing of the past among Africans.

On his part, Nwoko disclosed his intention to fund an academic research with $750,000, which he said will be aimed at discovering malaria vaccines.

While lamenting that malaria is still a big deal in Africa, Nwoko said he is committed to his initiative to end the disease in the continent, starting with Nigeria.

He said, “For me, I believe that at this day and time, Malaria shouldn’t be an issue in Africa. So I invested in it to join efforts with stakeholders to end Malaria in Africa but starting with Nigeria.”

The billionaire also charged the Federal Government to pay attention to malaria, just as the same way it’s giving the novel coronavirus attention.

“The Federal Government has been quite active in the fight against coronavirus. But I am advocating that the same energy currently being used to fight the infectious disease should as well be channeled towards ending Malaria,” he added.
