The founder of HAB Foundation, Hakeem Bamgbola, has distributed foodstuff and cash to over 1,000 people in Itire-Ikate and Coker-Aguda communities.
Bamgbola, Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos Central Senatorial District, said the action was to cushion the effect of the lockdown, occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The items include rice, garri, semolina and wheat.
He said the beneficiaries were indigent and vulnerable people in the communities.
The gesture, Bamgbola added, was to complement the effort of the Federal and Lagos state governments.

Said he: “We all know that the government has distributed relief materials across the state. We have many vulnerable people like widows and others who are in need of these food items within our communities.”
“What we are giving is just a token. The love that comes with it is what matters to us. At this difficult time, it is incumbent on everyone to give something to the needy. This is in tandem with our party, the APC manifestoes.”
The HAB founder urged Lagosians to adhere to the basic rules of hygiene, social distancing and pray against Coronavirus.
He advised the people to cooperate with the government by staying at home and remaining prayerful.
