THE collaborative efforts of Ogun State Government and non- governmental organisations are now yielding results to further better the lives of residents throughout the nooks and crannies of Ogun State.
The Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, made this statement during the official commissioning of the upgraded Lions Eye Centre at the State Hospital, Ota.
Engr Salako-Oyedele said the present administration has seen to the immediate upgrade of facilities in the primary, secondary and tertiary hospitals, adding that partnering non-governmental organisations is a welcome development under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Responding, the District 404B1 Governor, Association of Lions Clubs International, Lion Lynda Oluremi Odunmbaku, said Ota Lion Eye Clinic, since its birth, has been helping in facilitating the humanitarian service delivery, especially in diabetes and eyes treatment, adding that the upgrading was made possible by funding from Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) and Latter-Day Saint Charities (LDSC).

In his speech, the Past District Governor and Ota Eye Center Project Administrator, Lion Lekan Babalola, said the upgrade of Ota Lions Eye Centre witnessed the expansion and extension of reception hall, removal and replacement of new roof, brand new 30kg generating set with housing on fuel tanks, repainting and new air conditioners, great interior, including the surgery room, amongst others.
The Past District Core Project Lion, Dr. Teslim Sanusi, thanked the state government for signing the MOU which paved the way for the club to carry out its humanitarian services, adding that he was happy seeing what he started in 2006 being upgraded with modern equipment for the utilization of human kind.
The Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Obalenlege, thanked the facilitators for deeming it fit to upgrade the equipment in Ota Lions Eye Centre.
