Gunmen attack A’Ibom communities

GUNMEN have attacked Ayadehe and Mbiabo fishing communities in Itu council of Akwa Ibom State, killing two persons.

Many were reportedly injured, others missing after the hoodlums invaded the communities on Monday and Tuesday, The Nation gathered.

Council chair Etetim Onuk has called on the state and federal governments to save the fishing communities and forestall further loss of life and property.

“I condemn the incessant and unprovoked attacks on the riverine communities of Oku Iboku, Ayadehe and Mbiabo clans by armed marauders,” he said.
