THE National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) have agreed to strengthen their existing cooperation to drive the economic growth and development of Nigeria.
NACCIMA National President Hajiya Saratu Iya Aliyu and Customs Comptroller-General Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd), at a meeting held at Customs headquarters in Abuja, during the week, agreed to lead their respective organisations to work closely to move Nigeria forward.
Specific discussions on the partnership fostered at the meeting bordered on cooperation and compliance using authentic certificate of origin for exports, the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), interception & ease of doing business.
Others were voluntary information sharing, border closure implications, accelerating non-oil revenue generation as laid out in the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) 2017-2020, among others.
