Residents of Rivers State are happy with ongoing work on key projects despite the Coronavirus pandemic.
They were particularly excited with the completion of the Mother and Child Hospital, and construction of the Rebisi Flyover Bridge.
Project Manager at the Mother and Child Hospital Nwakama Michael said the pandemic had prolonged completion of the equipment process at the hospital.
He said: “The work has progressed satisfactorily. The construction has been completed; we are on with the equipment process, but it has been slowed down by the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Many beds have been installed with few left. Other medical equipment have been installed and more will be installed. The last time the governor visited, he was looking at the contractors completing their work by May.”
A resident of Rebisi, Ikenna Nnajike, residing in the state since 1986, appreciated the governor for the flyover.
He said: “I have been here since 1986. I appreciate God for the wonderful work the governor is doing. I thank him so much; he is God sent to Rivers people. God will give him more strength to do more. Let him not be distracted by enemies. Kudos to Governor Wike for building the Garrison flyover bridge and God will lead him the more.”
Harrison Ogenemene, from Delta State, rated the governor high on performance, saying he was surprised at the pace of work despite the challenges posed by Coronavirus.
“I have been in this state for about 32 years. I am right here at the Garrison junction and I am seeing much improvement. They are making a very fine bridge. The governor is trying very well. I have been to Rumuokoro where another bridge is being built, and another one at Rumuogba.’’
