The Katsina State Police Command yesterday announced the arrest of a bandits’ informant named: Abdullahi Sani, 40, of Ruwan Godiya village, Faskari LGA of Katsina State, and another, an ex-convict who was involved in stealing and re-selling stolen motorcycles.
The Spokesman of the State Command, Superintendent Gambo Isah told newsmen in Katsina that operatives overheard discussions involving Abdullahi Sani with a notorious bandit leader, Alhaji Ado Buji on phone and that the informant had been strongly suspected in the community as an informant to bandit.
He said: “In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime and stated that some time ago, he was given the sum of N800, 000:00 to buy essential needs for the said bandit and his camp.”

“Suspect also stated that one Mallam Mustapha Isah, 35, of Ruwan Godiya village, Faskari LGA was the one who introduced him to the said bandit leader, Ado Buji. He was later traced and arrested. He also confessed to running errand for the bandits and collected N200,000 from Ado Buji.”
The spokesman also announced the arrest of a notorious ex-convict, Shamsu Sani, 32, of Yammawa Quarters, Katsina, who is also a notorious thief, who specialises in house breaking and theft of motorcycles.
He said: “Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he was arrested wearing Nigerian Correctional Service Uniform and impersonating the agency with a suspected stolen motorcycle, Day-Long, red in colour, No. KTN 266 UX, at Kankia LGA, belonging to one Lawal Musa of Bakin Kasuwa Quarter, Katsina.”
Superintendent Isah said: “In the course of investigation, two suspected receivers were also arrested and five motorcycles, reasonably suspected to be stolen, were recovered in their possession.”
