    Renowned singer, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2baba has advised his numerous followers on the importance of caution when encountering opportunities presented as open doors. 

    Addressing his audience on Instagram, the award-winning singer emphasized that not every open door should be ventured into.

    He conveyed the message that each person is a bonafide member with a distinct identity, and it is inappropriate to use someone else’s credentials to access a place. 

    2baba further urged everyone to enter spaces at the right time, emphasizing the importance of focusing on individual matters and staying vigilant to avoid encountering trouble.

    He wrote: “See 4 this life everybody is a bonafide member. Everybody gets a name wey dem answer u no go fit use my ID make u enter oh Lord.     The eldest son of the renowned singer 2baba, Nino Idibia, has received heartfelt motherly blessings on the occasion of his 18th birthday on January 15.

    Nino, who is currently studying abroad, was celebrated by his mother, Sunmbo Adeoye, who shared a video collage on her Instagram page depicting his growth over the years.

    Sunmbo Adeoye extended her wishes for her son, expressing hopes for his prosperity and good health.

    She wrote: “Happy 18th birthday my baby. My wish for you is that you prosper and be in health all the days of your life. I love you son @ninoidibia #ninofabulous.”

    Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2baba, has hinted on the release of a new album after four years.

    The ‘African Queen’ crooner disclosed this on his Instagram page while urging fans to look forward to his works in 2024.

    He wrote: “Yes ooo 2024, merry new and happy every, my people, na so we no go gree for anybody this year o.

    “Born Again Album loading.

    “A guy don turn to upcoming artiste o; This boys and guys are not smiling and I’m super excited for this development.

    “Who no work no go shop, so therefore #workshop.”

    With the announcement, 2baba, who dropped his last studio album “Warriors” in 2020, will keep fans waiting in anticipation for the released date of the upcoming album.

    2baba debut album was ‘Face 2 Face’, released in 2004, with hit songs like the award-winning ‘African Queen’, ‘Nfana Ibaga’ and a host of others.

    He went on to release many albums including Grass 2 Grace, Away & Beyond, The Unstoppable, The Ascension and a host of others.

    The Benue born music legend, dominated the African music space for over a decade, winning both local, international awards, including  “MTV Europe Music Award”, World Music Award and five Headies Awards (Hip-hop award).

    He has also won the BET Award, MOBO Award,  KORA Award,   four Channel O Music Video Awards, four MTV Africa Music Awards and three  Afrima Awards, among other  nominations.

    In May 2016, 2Baba received an honorary Master of Arts in Music degree from Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo.

    He was awarded an honorary fellow of the school of music by the Music Department, Obafemi Awolowo University and in March 2019, making him the pioneer recipient of the award.

    In August 2019, 2Baba was appointed as the good cause Ambassador for the Nigerian Stock Exchange. (NAN)

    Police intensify search for DPO killer 2Baba, arrest second-in-command

    The police are close to apprehending the notorious cult leader, David Okpala Okpolowu, aka 2Baba, who spearheaded the brutal killing of the popular crime-fighting Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ahoada-East Local Government Area, SP. Bako Angbasim.

    Agbasim was killed and his body dismembered by 2Baba and his dreaded Iceland cult group terrorising Ahoada-East, an area known as a safe haven for violent cult activities.

    The police have been on the trail of 2Baba since the incident occurred with the State Government placing a bounty of N100m on his head.

    Some of the foot soldiers of the cult leader had either been killed by the police or arrested as the security agency intensified search for the most wanted criminal.

    But progress in his search was reportedly made at the weekend following the capturing of his second-in-command by the police in Bayelsa State.

    The Bayelsa operatives, acting on intelligence, were said to have rounded up 43-year-old Onyekachi Ikowa at his hideout in Yenagoa, the state capital.

    It was gathered that Ikowa first escaped to Shagamu in Ogun State but later made his way back to Yenagoa where he hid in an undisclosed location.

    A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Bayelsa State, CSP. Butswat Asinim, confirmed the arrest of 2Baba’s second in command. 

    Asinim said the Bayelsa Commissioner of Police, CP. Francis Iduh, immediately ordered police operatives to comb the state and apprehend others hiding in Bayelsa 

    The statement said: “Police Operatives in Bayelsa State have nabbed one of the killers of Late SP Bako Angbashim, former Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Division, Rivers State.

    “The suspect one Onyekachi Ikowa ‘m’  43 years, the second in command to TuBaba of the dreaded Icelander cult group,was arrested on 18 November, 2023 based on credible intelligence that he was hibernating in Yenagoa after participating in the callous murder of Late SP Bako Angbashim, in September 2023.

    “The Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command *CP Francis Iduh* has charged Police Operatives to fish out any of his cohorts who is hiding in Bayelsa State, he stressed that the Bayelsa Command under his watch would not be safe haven for criminals to hide.

    “The suspect has been handed over to the Rivers Police Command for further investigation”.

    She shared images of the birthday celebrant, expressing her admiration for him as her role model and a constant source of light and warmth.

    Sunmbo described him as sincere and God-fearing, emphasizing what a blessing he is in her life.

    The mother of four revealed an undisclosed fact about her spouse, revealing that he loves them all and constantly encourages them to greatness.

    Actress, Annie Idibia, wife of singer, 2baba on Tuesday, September 19, revealed why she refused to celebrate her hubby’s birthday.

    The mother of two said she didn’t feel the drive to celebrate her man because of her somber state and the heaviness of her heart.

    She, however, explained that she may not have marked his birth anniversary on September 18 but her love for 2baba remains eternal and every day they have to spend their lives together is his birthday.

    Annie eulogized ‘A Guy’ as she fondly refers to him, praying that God’s blessing will abide with him always.

    Cancer: Early diagnosis in Nigeria would have saved Sound Sultan, says 2Baba

    Popular Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia popularly know as 2Baba, has blamed the poor state of Nigeria’s health system for the death of his best friend and singer, Sound Sultan.

    He said that an early diagnosis would have saved his late friend who died of cancer in 2021.

    He said when the ‘Jagabantis’ crooner was sick, they initially thought it was malaria.

    He also blamed the poor health system in the country for the late diagnosis.

    The veteran singer appeared in the latest episode of the Afrobeats podcast hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide, aka Shopsydoo.

    The host asked: “How was the relationship with Sound Sultan and how has that loss been for you?”

    2Baba replied: “Sound Sultan was one of the ‘goodest’, if I can use that word. He was one of the ‘goodest’ people you can ever come across, like angel.

    “For a long time, I did not want to accept that fact, it was like a joke. The diagnosis was late. We thought it was malaria, he did tests in Nigeria. But I don’t want to get into all that.”

    The Nation recalls that Sound Sultan died in the United States at age 44 on July 11, 2021 shortly after he was diagnosed of Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, also known as cancer of the throat.

    Veteran Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has slammed the ‘Amebo’ in Nigerians who take pleasure in the affairs of his family. 

    2Baba affirms that despite the constant trolls over the years, there are some hurtful insults that get to him. 

    Idibia stated that Nigerians insinuate that he is a deadbeat father but has never volunteered to foot his kid’s bills.

    The father of seven bared his mind during an interview on the Afrobeats podcast hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide.

    He said: “Many people talk about kids, fatherhood, motherhood, all that whole circle. Many people talk about it with public opinion type of thinking. But it’s deeper than that. There’s nobody that has the exact blueprint for this thing.

    “The basic truth of the whole matter is the connection with you and your little ones. There are so many different ways to find it. There’s no one rule or one particular way.

    “I speak to my kids like say they be my mates. I don’t boss them around. I talk to them the way I talk to my friends and mom.

    “I get a lot of jabs. I got a lot of people that say stuff about me. People have trolled me severally on social media.  Sometimes it hurts. Sometimes some people will just go on social media to say rubbish. It’s just like terrorists bombing innocent people.

    “And I will start wondering how till today, none of those critics the way they are concerned about my family come to assist in paying my children’s school fees. Not even a single soul.”
