    ‘APC rallies affirm Aiyedatiwa’s popularity’

Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orietation , Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, has said ongoing campaigns have affirmed the popularity of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

He said the support of former governorship aspirants, including  Chief Olusola Oke,  Isaacs Kekemeke, Wale Akinterinwa, Chief Oladunni Odu, Rt Mayowa Akinfolarin and Jimi Odimayo has invigorated the governor’s acceptance at the polls.

Akinlosotu said the reception for Aiyedatiwa and the defection of opposition figures  to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were signals of rejection of the opposition parties by the people.

The APC campaign train, which berthed at the three senatorial districts between October 12 and 16, has rolled into the local governments. The rallies will be concluded with a grand finale in Akure on November 13.

  • Of Aiyedatiwa and the ‘Lucky Miracle’

Of Aiyedatiwa and the ‘Lucky Miracle’

    By Marindoti Oludare

Providence plays an undeniable role in the rise of great men, and this holds true for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. His journey from humble beginnings to the seat of leadership in Ondo State is not merely a tale of political maneuvering but of divine elevation.

While some critics might attribute his emergence to mere happenstance, those who witness the extraordinary transformation under his administration know better. The people of Ondo State, along with opposition parties, stand in awe of the progress that has unfolded before their eyes.

The trajectory of this administration has been nothing short of the. miraculous, particularly in its bold economic policies. Governor Aiyedatiwa’s focus on job creation has set Ondo State on the path of sustainable economic stimulation. His administration understands that the key to driving commerce and spurring economic growth lies in empowering the people.

By creating jobs, the Aiyedatiwa government is not only putting food on the table for families across the state but also ensuring that wealth circulates, stimulating the local economy and fostering an environment where businesses can thrive.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership is in tune with the times. He has embarked on a mission to revolutionise both the education and health sectors-two areas critical to the long-term development of any society.

In education, his government is laying the foundation for a future where every child, regardless of background, will have access to quality education. By prioritising the health sector, the administration is ensuring that the people of Ondo State have access to world-class healthcare, thereby improving quality of life across the state.

It is true that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s first name is “Lucky,” and many may attribute his rise to mere good fortune. But what we are witnessing today is not just the work of luck; it is the result of purposeful action, visionary leadership, and a deep commitment to the people.

The impact of his policies and the transformational change happening in Ondo State are nothing short of the miraculous. It is why the next four years will undoubtedly be marked by what I call “The Lucky Miracle.”

As we stand on the cusp of this greatness, we are reminded that luck may have opened the door, but it is skill, wisdom, and dedication that are driving this administration forward. The good people of Ondo State are about to experience a period of unprecedented growth and development, and we are fortunate to be part of this historic moment.

Instead of focusing on campaigning and winning the hearts and minds of the people, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chosen to busy itself with blaming the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their ongoing woes. Like a football team that lacks quality players, yet blames the referee for a match that hasn’t even been played, the PDP’s actions are laughable. Their inability to come up with a compelling message for the people of Ondo State has left them grasping at straws, sticking to conjectural and asinine arguments that simply do not hold water.

Where the All Progressives Congress (APC) showed guts and gumption during their time in opposition, rallying their forces and demonstrating strong leadership, the PDP has displayed nothing but weakness and internal strife. Their inability to coalesce into a united front is a glaring sign of their lack of seriousness and resolve. From the suspension of their National Chairman to the disgraceful infighting between their Publicity Secretary and other members, to the debacle witnessed in Rivers State, it is clear that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is motivated by self-interest and greed rather than by any genuine desire to serve the people.

The cluelessness of the opposition party in the Southwest has further solidified why the people of those states are eager to ditch the party. Their mismanagement, lack of vision, and inability to inspire confidence have left the citizens of these states disillusioned.

In Ondo State, we have witnessed their total failure to connect with the electorate, and the good people of this state will not be hoodwinked.

In what seems sounds close to the name of their leading figure in the state, the political party in reference has turned to “Agbo Idoti” (refuse dump), signifying a party that offers no solution or is lacking in vision. Ondo State, on the other hand, is the home of ‘Márìndọ̀tí’, a land of vision, strength, and excellence.

With the opposition party in disarray, their lack of a coherent strategy is glaringly obvious. They have failed to present a unified front, and their campaigns are devoid of substance. This is why Governor Aiyedatiwa’s victory is not just likely, it is inevitable.

The people of Ondo State recognise true leadership when they see it, and they will not be swayed by the hollow rhetoric and disorganisation of the opposition. The next four years under Governor Aiyedatiwa will apparently manifest the miraculous, and we are all fortunate to be on the cusp of this “Lucky Miracle.”

The road network across this local government requires urgent attention to improve access and facilitate development.

Aiyedatiwa urges voters to reject opposition parties

Ondo State Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has urged the electorate in Ese-Odo Local Government Area to use their votes to chase away opposition parties.

Aiyedatiwa said the APC has the Peoples Democratic Party by harvesting its key leaders.

The governor, who spoke when he took his campaign train to Ese Odo, also interacted with traditional rulers, religious leaders, and residents in the locality.

Addressing large crowds at Kiribo, Igbotu, Igbobini and Bolowou, Aiyedatiwa appealed to them to remain steadfast in their commitment to the progress his administration has initiated.

He cautioned them against voting for other political parties, saying such votes could jeopardize the continuity of development efforts.

According to him, “your vote is your power; don’t waste your votes on parties that have no clear plan for Ondo State.”

“I want to thank you for your patience, as we gathered here today. I salute your love, unity, and support for us and the party. I’ll reciprocate this gesture after the election.

“No doubt, we have initiated many projects, and we will do more. Our roads, schools, and hospitals are receiving attention. We have also ensured there is security in the state.

“We are also employing more teachers in the school. So, come November 16, you must troop out en mass and vote for our party (APC) in the election.

“I want you to use our vote to chase away other political parties. As you know, all the gladiators in the PDP are now with us. We have torn the umbrella of the main opposition party into shreds. In this coming election, your vote must be for the APC.”

At Bolowou, the Anananawe of Bolowou, (Pere) Judge Ugulapelewei Jemine, said Aiyedatiwa’s administration has shown clear commitment to the people, and they were pleased to see the promises materialized.

He said: “We need the renovation of our public schools to ensure our children learn in a conducive environment. The approval of additional secondary schools is crucial, as many of our children currently have to travel far to get an education.”

“Our people deserve better access to quality healthcare. We need more healthcare facilities and improvement in the existing ones to meet the growing demands of our communities.”

“The sea incursion is already spreading into other communities, and if nothing is done, some of these communities will be wiped off the map. We are appealing to the government to take swift action so our people do not go into extinction.”

The monarch acknowledged the governor’s ongoing efforts but urged the government to increase its intervention.

  • LP candidate tackles Aiyedatiwa over Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway

LP candidate tackles Aiyedatiwa over Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State, Chief Sola Ebiseni, has criticised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s failure to speak on the proper alignment of Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

Ebiseni alleged that the maps of the alignment showed that the road might not appropriately traverse the Ondo coastal portion.

Speaking at a press briefing in Akure, Ebiseni described the Lagos-Calabar Coastal highway as one of the most visionary projects by the Tinubu administration for the people of the Niger Delta

He said the Ondo State portion, which is about 100 kilometres and has the longest shoreline, stands to benefit, particularly in the area of coastal investments and management of coastal erosion.

He said efforts by leaders of thought from Ondo State to ensure justice have proved abortive. Ebiseni said: “The governor has been indifferent. I suggested to him since May to call a meeting to brief our people for representations like other states and communities to the Federal Government on the proper and beneficial alignment of the palpable tension all over the place.

“Our governor is busy celebrating a kilometre of the concrete walkway where a project that will enhance the establishment of deep-sea ports, coastal investments, redress the coastal erosion in Aiyetoro and other places and impact our lives and civilisation for good is being allowed to slip by. We need a governor with the proper understanding and clout to make things work.”

Ebiseni said his chances of winning the election are high because his campaign revolves around previous achievements of the LP government in education, health, integrated rural development, and women and youth empowerment.

He said: “My deputy, Dayo Awude, and I were commissioners in the LP government headed by Dr. Olusegun Mimiko. We are not in the business of crowd rentals or preaching to the disciples by hauling our members in buses to Akure and persuading the converted. We will meet the people where they are and point to LP projects in their localities.

“They know that under the LP government, education was free up to secondary school level with the state government paying WAEC fees, which the present government refused to pay, resulting in monumental national embarrassment where WAEC had to withhold the results of children.

“Incidentally, these projects are easily identifiable with their LP orange colours. The people believe we can do much more because we were part of the success story. The other parties have nothing to show, except personal controversial records of their candidates.”
