Ex-BBNaija star Praise: Fame combines blessing and challenges

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Praise Nelson, has shared his experience of life after the reality show, describing fame as both a blessing and a challenge.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Praise explained that while the show offered visibility, it also exposed every detail of contestants’ lives to public scrutiny.

“The show gives people visibility, and it gives people the opportunity to know your life… So it pretty much gives people a view of your life,” he said.

He noted the difficulty of maintaining privacy even after leaving the show, adding that the constant attention often feels overwhelming.

Praise also revealed that online trolling has been one of the biggest challenges he has had to deal with since gaining fame.

“And also, like I said, the trolls. They just don’t stop. They never stop. No matter what, there’s nothing you can do. If you do something today and a troll comes to your page and says, ‘Ah, I beg you, this thing you for do am like this,’ if you do it like that, that same person will still… You know, people just hate for no reason.

“Sometimes when someone says something awful, when I read it, I look at my friend and I say, ‘This person doesn’t even know me. Like, you don’t even know what I’m about. You don’t even know me personally. And you’re saying this kind of thing about me.’ So, yeah. And fame comes with it. Fame comes with negativity and positivity.” he added.

The voting criteria included contributions to tasks, house chores, workout dedication, competitiveness, and overall entertainment value.

This new twist added a strategic layer to the game, as housemates must balance individual goals with being seen as influential.

BBNAIJA S10: Kola’s team slams online backlash, threatens legal action

Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate Kola Omotoso’s team has slammed intense online backlash after a playful flirty conversation with Kola and fellow contestant Dede.

The controversy started when a private conversation between Kola and Dede, in which she asked him to focus on more personal topics, was clipped and shared on social media.

Despite the conversation being innocent, it fueled speculation about Kola’s intentions, with Dede’s fans accusing him of “crossing lines” due to his growing closeness with her.

The online chatter escalated quickly, with Kola’s actions being scrutinised by fans.

However, his team sprang to his defense, releasing a statement on his official X account.

They described the online accusations as “dangerous and unfounded labels” that could have serious consequences for his life and career.

According to the statement, Kola’s behavior in the house has been consistently respectful and kind, particularly towards women.

His team emphasised that he has shown restraint and self-control, never crossing any boundaries set by his fellow housemates.

They slammed the allegations as calculated and malicious, warning that any further defamatory statements would be met with immediate legal action.

The statement partly reads: “Kola has recently faced a wave of online backlash, with accusations and name-calling taking over social media spaces.

“What began as name-calling: ‘mumu,’ ‘simp’, has now escalated into dangerous and unfounded labels such as ‘rapist’, ‘predator’, ‘abuser’, coined expressly and impliedly.

“Kola has consistently carried himself in the Big Brother Naija house with dignity, respect, and kindness towards everyone, especially the women.

“From the very beginning, he has shown restraint and self-control, keeping his hands to himself even during the Thursday and Saturday night parties, and never once crossing a boundary set by anyone, male or female.

“It is deeply disheartening to see a simple, honest conversation he had with a fellow housemate twisted out of context to paint him as something he is not. This attempt to trap him and strip both parties of their dignity is dead on arrival.

“We remind the public that labels such as these carry weight far beyond this show. They can ruin lives, careers, and futures.

“We will not sit back and allow his name to be tarnished by reckless and defamatory statements… any further defamatory tweets or posts will be met with immediate legal action.”

Faith considers voluntary exit from BBNaija season 10

Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate Faith has revealed that he is considering a voluntary exit from the show, describing it as a “waste of time”.

In a conversation with Joanna in the garden, the medical doctor expressed his frustration and doubts about continuing in the reality show.

According to his research, the average time needed to make a career boost from the show is five and a half weeks, and he’s already spent five weeks in the house.

He said: “I want to see a therapist because I want to f**king leave. This is a waste of my time. What am I doing here? I know you don’t believe me, but I’m seriously considering it.

“I read about this show, the average time you need to spend on the show to actually make a career is five and a half weeks.”

Faith’s concerns are compounded by his initial nomination for eviction this week, although Big Brother cancelled the eviction after Head of House Rooboy picked a note that nullified nominations.

This temporary reprieve means Faith won’t face eviction until next week. However, with the show’s rules allowing for voluntary exits, Faith said he is seriously contemplating leaving the house.

Evicted housemate Gigi Jasmine has described housemates Imisi as fake and Faith as manipulative.

Speaking on Pulse Nigeria, Gigi said Faith impressed her with his intelligence and calculated approach.

She noted that Faith has a unique ability to understand people’s personalities and exploit their weaknesses, which can be both effective and frustrating.

“Easy, there are two. Faith and Imisi. One thing about Faith, Mandem is smart. Mandem is super duper smart, and I give it to him.

“Good on you, mate. But not only is he manipulative, he’s calculated,”

Gigi acknowledged Faith’s strategic gameplay, saying, “He knows how to break down everyone’s personality, and he knows that one thing that will trigger you, and he’ll be like, duh-duh-duh-duh-duh, and then you’re like, what did you say?

“Like, it’s frustrating, but he’s good at that,”

Gigi also accused Imisi of faking behavior in the house, claiming that Imisi is intelligent and can mimic accents, but often puts on an act.

“Imisi, child, don’t play with me. I know that you’re a fake. Like, honestly, do not play with me. I know that you’re just acting.

“I know you’re very intelligent, because we’ve had conversations, and you’ve been able to mimic my accent and understand everything.

“It’s not every single time that Biggie calls Imisi, you’re like, yay! No, I know what you’re doing. I clocked it. I clocked it,” she said.

She recognised Imisi’s strong gameplay strategy, stating that she has “the best strategy yet.”

“Get into a stupid ship. Bruh, people ask me if, like, he had my mumu button. I finally learned what that meant,” Gigi said.
