Big Brother Naija housemate Kayikunmi has taken a bold step by asking fellow housemate Isabella to be his girlfriend, following a turbulent series of emotional highs and lows between the duo.

The proposal came after a heated fallout sparked by Isabella’s frustration over Kayikunmi’s growing closeness to former Head of House, Thelma Lawson.

At the peak of the tension, Isabella distanced herself from Kayikunmi, openly telling friends he wasn’t her type and declaring she was no longer interested in a romantic connection.

However, in a surprising twist, the pair were later spotted having a conversation by the poolside, during which Kayikunmi asked Isabella to become his girlfriend officially.

Isabella, caught off guard, responded with hesitation.

She admitted she needed time to think about it and reminded him of her earlier decision to cut ties with him.

Victory Okokon has been crowned the new Head of House (HOH) on Big Brother Naija Season 10, just a day after Thelma Lawson was initially announced as HOH.

Victory secured the title following his strong performance in the Monday challenge, earning him immunity from nominations and exclusive access to the HOH lounge.

In a surprising move, Victory chose Joanna as his deputy and house guest, a decision that caught many fans off guard, as Gigi Jasmine had been widely expected to be his pick.

The sudden change in leadership reflects Big Brother’s unpredictable game format, designed to keep both housemates and viewers constantly on edge.

With his new role, Victory will wield significant influence over the house dynamics and nomination process.

Thelma Lawson had previously become the first female HOH of the season, but her tenure was short-lived.

Jason Jae had earlier made history as the first housemate to successfully defend the HOH title under the new twist.

BBNaija S10: I’m not mentally ready to be Head of House – Kuture

Big Brother Naija housemate Kuture has expressed reluctance to take on the Head of House (HOH) role.

Speaking to the show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, during the live eviction on Sunday, Kuture said being HOH comes with significant responsibilities that he’s not yet ready to handle, likening managing housemates to trying to control animals.

Kuture’s decision is influenced by the challenges that come with leadership roles in the house and the lack of respect some housemates show to the past HOH, Jason Jae.

According to him, being HOH required a level of mental preparedness that he hasn’t yet attained.

“HOH comes with a lot of responsibilities. It is easier to control animals than human beings.

“Some housemates don’t even respect the HOH, and I am not mentally ready for that yet,” Kuture said.

He added that he prefers to wait until Week 4 before considering the role, as some housemates would have been evicted.

BBNaija is an ‘Emotional War Zone’ — Pere Egbi

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Pere Egbi has described the reality show as an “emotional war zone,” stating that the experience inside the Big Brother house leaves a lasting impact on anyone who goes through it.

In a reflection shared on social media, Pere said the Big Brother house is a high-pressure environment where emotions run high due to the isolation from the outside world and constant proximity to strangers.

“A lot of people will never understand what goes on inside the Big Brother house until they’re in there themselves. It’s easy to judge from the outside, but that house is a pressure cooker for emotions,” he wrote.

Pere explained that contestants are locked in without access to phones, books, music, or the internet — left only with their thoughts and fellow housemates.

“You’re locked in with people you barely know. No escape. Just you and those faces every morning, afternoon, and night. Over time, those faces stop being strangers. They become your everything.”

He said this setup breaks down emotional barriers and magnifies every interaction. Relationships form quickly and deeply, but conflicts are just as intense — with no chance to walk away or cool off.

“Love can be real, raw, and messy,” Pere added. “And when there’s conflict, you’re forced to live with the same people who hurt or irritate you. That house changes you — forever.”

“With no external distractions, your only stimulation comes from conversations and human energy. You start noticing things you’d normally overlook: a smile, a laugh, the way someone looks at you during a task. The smallest things become huge.

“Feelings? They develop fast. You’re waking up and sleeping next to the same person daily. That kind of constant proximity breaks down emotional barriers. Even if you came in with something serious outside, the environment tests that.

“You may fight those feelings, but for how long? 99% of the time, you surrender. And if it’s genuine, it will either elevate your game or destroy it completely. Love in that house isn’t a strategy most of the time. It’s real, raw, and often messy.

“But it’s not just about love and affection. Even conflicts are amplified. You’re in a house where you can’t walk away. There’s no storming out to cool off. You’re forced to live with the same people who hurt you, irritate you, or trigger you.

“Your coping mechanisms are stripped. No friends to vent to. No mum to call. No car to drive away in. Your emotional bandwidth is maxed out. So sometimes you explode. And when you do, the world watches and judges a moment they’ll never fully understand.

“It’s a psychological experiment in real time. A blend of cabin fever, emotional exposure, performance pressure, sleep deprivation, and constant surveillance. What you see on screen is only half the story. The rest lived in silence.

“So before you criticise a housemate for falling in love, getting in a fight, or breaking down in tears, remember: it’s not just a game. It’s an emotional war zone where survival sometimes looks like surrender.

“Big Brother isn’t just a show. It’s a human experience. One that changes you forever. And unless you’ve lived it, you’ll never fully understand the choices made inside that house.”

Big Brother Naija housemate, Dede, has expressed deep sadness over how some fellow contestants reacted to her clash with housemate Victory, revealing that a number of them were pleased by the confrontation.

Speaking during her diary session with Big Brother (Biggie), Dede said she was taken aback to learn that other housemates view her as unapproachable and believe she’s “doing too much” in the house.

“Someone came to me and said, ‘Do you know people have a perception about you?’ And I was like Cool, that’s the point of a perception—everyone has one. It doesn’t have to be right or wrong,” she recounted.

According to her, the housemate went on to say that others feel she gives off an unwelcoming energy despite her active involvement in discussions, games, and tasks.

Holding back tears, she added that what hurt the most was learning that some housemates felt joy over her disagreement with Victory.

“The person went on to say that even when I had an issue with Victory, people were happy about it, and that made me really sad, but I didn’t show it,” she said.
