Ifeanyi Ubah were lucky, says Bosso

El Kanemi Warriors technical adviser, Ladan Bosso has said the lucky team won during Sunday’s matchday 27 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Nnewi.

A 41st minute goal from a well-timed header from Brazilian, Alberico Da Silva was all FC Ifeanyi Ubah needed to claim the three points at stake in the match to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches in all competitions.

Bosso said his boys have improved from the way they played in the first round of the competition while expressing confident that they will pick away points before the end of the season.

“We were better on Sunday but the lucky side won. It was a good game and officiating was okay too. I am hopeful that before the end of the season we should be able to get away points. They are playing better from what happened in the first round. They have blended well now and the unity in the team is giving me confidence that we will end the season well,” Bosso told SportingLife.

El-Kanemi Warriors head coach, Ladan Bosso was on cloud nine after his side humbled MFM FC 3-1 in their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match played at the El-Kanemi Stadium on Saturday.

The Desert Warriors produced an energy filled display to outwit the Olukoya Boys and Bosso was elated with his players’ huge performance.

“We attacked them from the first minute of the match and showed ambition,”  Bosso told Goal.

“The boys knew what was at stake and scored the needed goals. I’m so proud of their contribution. It was fantastic for the players and the club to achieve this; we were not under any pressure to perform. We will go ahead and continue to pick points and end the season in a good position.”

Bosso: Our fans happy to see us back in Maiduguri

El Kanemi Warriors technical adviser, Ladan Bosso has said that his wards will not play under pressure when they host Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in a week 11 of the Nigeria Professional Football League in Maiduguri today.

The Borno Armies will play its first league match at the El Kanemi Stadium Maiduguri after three years of playing at its adopted home ground at the Karkanda Stadium in Katsina.

The Warriors was banished to Katsina due to insecurity in Borno State.

In a chat with SportingLife, Bosso confirmed that the stadium was full to its capacity during their training session on Friday evening.

“3SC game is like any other match we have played in the past. The only difference is that we are playing in front of more fans unlike when we were playing in Katsina. We are not going to play under pressure because the fans are for us,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bosso has heaped praises on referee Daniel Akume from Makurdi who officiated their week 10 league game against Rivers United at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port-Harcourt on Wednesday.

Bosso believes Akume performed creditably well on Wednesday despite its team’s 1-0 loss to Rivers United.

It is understood that Rivers United versus El Kanemi Warriors game was Akume’s first official assignment in the NPFL.

Akwa Utd loss is a blessing in disguise, says Bosso

El-Kanemi Warriors technical adviser Ladan Bosso has urged his wards to heed the wake-up call presented by their 3-1 home loss to Akwa United.

Warriors conceded three goals within 15 minutes of the start of the match to the surprise of the home fans. Emeka Isaac, Ubong Ekpai and Chigozie Emmanuel netted the goals before Ibrahim Mustapha scored a consolation late in the first half in a rescheduled league game on Wednesday.

Bosso, who admitted that his boys were complacent, said they have learnt their lesson and would make necessary correction.

The former Abia Warriors coach told SportingLife that he paraded the same squad that has been given the team good results in their previous matches.

“I want to take responsibility for what happened against Akwa United. It was lack of concentration from my players and we conceded three goals within fifteen minutes. When I saw the way things was going I had to make one substitution in the first half and the team was stabilized, but the deed had already been done. We got many chances too but we wasted it,” Bosso told SportingLife.

“The good thing about what happened is that it is happening at the early stage of the season. There is no cause for alarm because we will surely make amend for the lost points. The same players we paraded against Akwa United were used to defeat Enyimba, IfeanyiUbah and Nasarawa United. We will continue to push and we will not relax until we achieve our target.”

    Bosso blames fatigue for defeat

El Kanemi Warriors technical adviser Ladan Bosso has attributed his team’s 3-1 loss to Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministry (MFM) in a match day six of the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Agege Stadium on Sunday to fatigue.

The Borno Armies were expected to travel to Lagos by flight but their air travel was cancelled because the team could not get enough tickets in Maiduguri.

The players and officials of the team then traveled by road and reached Lagos on Saturday night and played on Sunday afternoon without rest.

“First of all, congratulation to MFM for their victory. We lost due to fatigue. We had a plan to come to Lagos by flight but the agent disappointed us. When we got to the airport we were told that only nine tickets were available and as a coach I can’t tell only nine players to board a plan while others travel by road. So we had to embark on the journey by road on Friday and we reached Lagos on Saturday evening and still played on Sunday which was very difficult for my boys,” Bosso told SportingLife.

“We have lost. We will go back and look at where we have problem technically and administratively so that we will know how to correct it.  It was a good game and the officiating was perfect.”

The former Kano Pillars gaffer also revealed that the team is in the rebuilding process, claiming that the majority of the players that were paraded last season have left the club.

He said out of ten old players remaining, six are injured, leaving the club with no choice than to use new players to prosecute the league.

“The first three matches we lost on the streak, for me it was an expected end. The club was expected to retain fifteen players out of the players paraded last season.  But out of fifteen, five players still left when they got better offers. Again, out of ten that are remaining with us about six of them are down with injuries and they started the injury last season. So I am left with four old players. We have good players in the team but we are currently facing problem of blending the players together. The league is still fresh to be worried about and I hope everything will be sorted out very soon,” he said.

Bosso lays down terms for El-Kanemi job

Ladan Bosso has told footballlive.ng that he will hold crucial talks with the management of El-kanemi warriors today in Abuja over the possibility of taking over at the club amidst rumours that he has already penned a deal with the club.

Bosso debunked such presumption revealing that he has several offers to consider.

The coach quit his position with Abia Warriors and suggested he wanted a job closer home after the loss of his Wife.

Meanwhile, the peripatetic Manager stated his terms of service will include getting assurances from the club for sole authority for transfer and financial wherewithal to pay players’ salaries as at when due.

Bosso: I am passionate but not keen for Sunshine job

Coach Ladan Bosso has exclusively revealed to SportingLife that he was underpriced by the management of Sunshine Stars of Akure.

The former Abia Warriors coach was reported to have lost the chance of coaching the Akure Gunners because of his high demand from the club.

But in a chat with SportingLife, Bosso said he was actually approached by the committee set up by the club to look for a coach not that he applied for it.

SportingLife understands that Bosso, who earned N1.2m at Abia Warriors, was offered between N600, 000 and N700, 000 at Sunshine Stars.

“It was the committee set up by the club to look for a coach that called me;  I did not apply for the job. I have passion to be Sunshine Star coach but I am not too keen for it and it is not a do-or-die affair,” Bosso said to SportingLife.

“Coaching Sunshine Stars is a bigger challenge because it is a club eager for success. When they approached me I told them I will get back to them.

“Again, the offer put on the table was far below what I have been earning in my coaching career. Imagine a coach collecting N1.2m at a club and he is being offered between N600, 000 and 700, 000.”

The former Kano Pillars gaffer said that what Sunshine Stars offered him cannot achieve the target given to him.

“Their proposed entitlement cannot not help to achieve the target set for the season. As a coach I should demand for what will help me achieve my target.

“When we are talking about match bonuses I should collect triple of players’ entitlement. My first assistant should collect double of my players’ entitlement as well. Sunshine Stars is one of the clubs in the country that always compete for the top spot every season. Sunshine Stars are in the same category like Enyimba FC, Kano Pillars, Warri Wolves and other big clubs in the country.”

The former Niger Tornadoes coach also said there are negativity surrounding the Akure-based outfit that will make the job very difficult to handle.

“There are some negativity surrounding Sunshine Stars, one of which is the issue of owing players. As I am talking to you  I have made my investigation that the club still owes players about three to four months’ salary. So what is the fate of some of us that are coming in newly?

“The second reason is that the sponsor of the team, the state governor, who is going for his last lap of his tenure. Nobody knows what his successor will be up to in terms of sponsoring the team.  The positive is that they are always a determined side which always looks to achieve something at the end of the day. I still wish them the best in their endeavours. And I am always making myself available if the need arises,”he said.

    Bosso applauds his troops

Abia Warriors gaffer, Ladan Bosso has applauded his team for sustaining their bragging rights in the famous Abia Classico against Enyimba.

At a time, the home fans were preparing for their first-ever victory over their Umuahia rivals substitute Michael Olaha hit target to complete a sublime assist from Ndifreke Effiong, to score his first Premier League goal and maintain their record in the Classico.

A late rally from in-form Christian Obiozor was ruled off-side to the annoyance of the home crowd.

“We know Enyimba has more experienced players, so we came with our own game plans to earn the result. It was a good match and I’m satisfied with the result”, Bosso told supersport.com.

Effiong gave his side the lead after a beautiful pass from Ifeanyi Onyeali on 27th minute but Obiozor pulled one back for Enyimba in the 45th minute. For the first time in Aba, Enyimba got the lead through Daniel Etor, who rose above the defence to beat experienced John Gaadi in the 50th minute.

However, Olaha’s effort on 80th minute ensured scores were leveled as both sides shared points on match day.

    Bosso targets continental competition

With the 2015   league  season scheduled to commence this weekend, coach of Abia Warriors, Ladan Bosso, has posited that the target is to qualify for a continental championship for next season at the very least.

Abia played in the elite division for the first time last season and came very close to finishing in continental places on the league table, and Bosso says they will be hoping to go one step better this time.

“We almost got a continental ticket last season. It was a good one seeing that it was our first season in the Premier League and we came as close as we did,” Bosso said.

“We were also able to beat some of the most revered teams in the league last season and we are hoping to go further this time and that means us getting a continental ticket by the end of the season,” he said.

Abia Warriors are in Jos this weekend for a date against Giwa FC in their league opener and Bosso reckons they must start picking up points as early as possible.

“We want to start the season on a very good note and we know we have to do that by winning our games because the league gets tougher from the middle of the season down to the end.”
