    MK Dons manager, Karl Robinson, has said he expects midfielder Dele Alli to be fit to face Peterborough United this weekend.

    Alli, who scored the only goal to earn MK Dons a 1-0 win over Colchester United at the weekend, was taken off after 64 minutes through injury, and fans were naturally worried about his status ahead of this weekend’s derby against Peteborough United, africanFootball.com reports.

    Their fears have been put to rest by the manager, who said he believes Alli, whose father is Nigerian, should be ready for the weekend game.

    “Yeah he got a few kicks, but it’s something he’s used to – he gets a number of kicks on a consistent basis anyway. Hopefully he will be fit for the derby on Saturday,” africanFootball.com quoted Robinson as saying on MK Dons website.

    Former Wimbledon striker, John Fashanu, has said he will use his connections at MK Dons to convince new Tottenham Hotspur recruit, Dele Alli, to switch allegiance to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

    Fashanu captained Wimbledon FC for 10 years and the club forms part of MK Dons history, the team Alli currently plays for on loan after joining White Heart Lane outfit in the January transfer window, sl10.ng reports.

    Alli scored his 13th goal of the season in League One as MK Dons lost 2-1 loss to Bradford City on Tuesday to further enhance his reputation as one of the brightest prospect in English football right now.

    He has already represented England at various youth level but the player nicknamed the “new Steven Gerrad,” is still eligible for Nigeria at senior level and Fashanu is willing to persuade him to opt for Nigeria.

    “I will be speaking to some people at MK Dons to help patch me through to Alli, we can’t afford to lose such a talented kid to England. It’s better we put up a fight than to let him go, I will do my best to persuade him to switch allegiance,” he told sl10.ng.

    “I sincerely believe in years to come he will be a top prospect and Nigeria from what I will tell him, will be his best bet at being a global international start.”

    MK Dons midfielder, Dele Alli, has said he is looking forward to a new challenge with Tottenham Hotspur after he completed his move to the London club before the transfer deadline.

    Alli completed his switch to English Premier League side Tottenham and has signed a £5 million deal after a successful medical, africanFootball.com reports.

    The Nigerian-born England youth international settled his future following several interests from top teams, but he will return on loan to MK Dons till the end of the season.

    The youngster admitted it was a tough decision for him to make and happy he will remain with MK Dons till the end of the season.

    “I am so excited about taking the next step in my career with a fantastic club like Tottenham Hotspur. It’s going to be a great challenge for me and it’s one that I am really relishing. For now, my focus is solely on MK Dons and this Saturday’s game,” africanFootball.co quoted Alli as saying on MK Dons website.

    “It was a difficult decision to leave a club that I’ve been with since I was a boy because I’ve loved every minute of my time here.”

    Nigerian youngster Dele Alli will complete a £4million move to Newcastle United before being loaned back to MK Dons until end of the season.

    The England youth international has attracted interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool, africanFootball.com reports.

    But Alli will be loaned back to League One club until July.

    Sportsmail understands “The Magpies” will complete the signing of the 18-year-old midfielder this week for a fee of £4million, rising to £5million with add-ons.

    The highly-rated youngster broke into the senior side two seasons ago and has scored 18 times from 71 appearances.

    MK Dons boss, Karl Robinson, said, “He can be as good as he wants to be, he has got everything. He is special.”

    MK Dons midfielder,Dele Alli, is courting interest from Newcastle United, whose officials are ready to follow up their interest with a bid for the teenager, his manager, Karl Robinson, has said.

    Speaking to the Shields Gazzette, Robinson reckoned the club is yet to receive a bid for Alli but conceded it was only a matter of time before the Magpies lodge a bid, unlike before when it was all paper talk.

    “There’s been a lot of talk over Dele from Newcastle United and certain clubs, I think it’s a bit more than paper talk this time around but there’s nothing that we’ve heard yet,” sl10.ng quoted Robinson as saying to Shields Gazzette.

    Alli has been scouted by Newcastle United chief scout Steve Carr in the past and nine million pounds is being mooted for the wonder-kid.

    He was initially thought to be on his way to Liverpool in the summer, but talks appeared to have broken down and Newcastle United is set to steal a march on other rivals for his services which include Manchester City.

    MK Dons midfielder Dele  Alli has spoken of his desire to emulate his childhood idol Steven Gerrard by scoring against Germany tonight.

    The 18-year-old Nigerian-born England youth international who has been earning plaudits for his club performances in recent months, is set to travel with the England U-19 side to take on their German counterparts in Oberhausen.

    Alli, who has yet to score for the Three Lions told TheFA.com: “I’ve had a few chances when I’ve been playing for England and I feel like they’ve been easy chances, but I’ve just been messing up so I can’t wait to get off the mark.

    “I am actually a Liverpool fan and Gerrard is someone I look up to massively. If the ball drops for me on Monday like it did for him against Germany, I’m smashing it!”

    Alli, who was referring to England’s 5-1 win against the four-time World Cup winners back in 2001, has reportedly been on the radar of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich during the last transfer window.
