    In an Instagram post, she shared a photo of the team, praising their dedication and hard work in bringing the movie to life.

    Akindele revealed that the movie was self-funded and highlighted her pride in providing opportunities for a talented crew, 95% of whom are young individuals showcasing their skills.

    She also acknowledged the seamless collaboration between Nigerian and Ghanaian team members, reiterating her commitment to empowering the next generation and offering them platforms to excel.

    Funke Akindele wraps up work on third franchise of ‘Jenifa’

    Nollywood star actress, director and producer, Funke Akindele has wrapped up work on the third instalment of her Jenifa franchise.

    The third instalment is set for a December 2024 release, as announced by Akindele in an Instagram post. This is coming after the sequel, ‘Return of Jenifa,’ premiered in 2011.

    According to Akindele, who plays the titular role of Jenifa, the third instalment of the Jenifa franchise is entitled ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa.’

    Akindele urges fans to get ready for a hilarious and heartwarming comedy with a message, music, action, and romance.

    Sources revealed that Akindele had employed the services of Tunde Olaoye for the third instalment and shot in Nigeria and Ghana.

    Recently, Akindele unveiled some of the activities of the Jenifa Foundation.

    Speaking on the achievement, she said, “I’m thrilled to share with you a glimpse into the impactful work I’ve been dedicated to over the years.     Funke Akindele’s ‘Tribe of Judah’ raked in N600m in January alone, says Okwuosa

    Co-Founder & Group Chief Executive Officer of Filmhouse Cinemas, Ken Okwuosa has revealed that Funke Akindele’s blockbuster, ‘Tribe of Judah,’ grossed a total of N600m in January 2024 alone.

    Okwuosa made this revelation while speaking with the Founder of the Nigerian International Film & TV Summit, Ijeoma Onah, at the 2024 edition, which began on Wednesday, August 28.

    Speaking on the rise of the Nigerian film industry and content, Okwuosa said in 2024 H1, Nollywood took 48% of the total market share in cinemas while Hollywood claimed 52%.

    He went further to assert that Nigeria has a powerful local market and the cinemagoers are spending on watching local content in cinemas.

    Putting it in perspective, he said, “ ‘Tribe of Judah’ by Funke Akindele did N1.4 billion, and also did over N600m in January alone.”

    He went further to explain that every single month since January 2024, Nigerian content led charts in cinemas across the country.

    The comment was made on a post promoting Funke’s upcoming film, “Everybody Loves Jenifa,” where the user remarked that she might succeed more if she focused solely on producing rather than acting.

    Funke Akindele quickly fired back, advising the user to log out of the micro-blogging app.

    The X user wrote: “Maybe you could do better by producing a movie one day without being part of the cast.”
