    In a heartwarming tribute, superstar Funke Akindele has credited D’Banj for reviving the beloved Jenifa franchise.

    She shared how a club encounter with D’Banj sparked a career-changing conversation which led to a great outcome. 

    Funke noted how the ‘Kokomaster’ hitmaker gifted her the funds to create more Jenifa content, describing it as a lucrative brand which she should keep milking and feasting on.

    Funke praised Dbanj as a trailblazer, whose music has brought joy and inspiration to countless fans.

    She honored his legacy, acknowledging that his impact extends far beyond his music.

    “After the big break with Jenifa, everybody loved Jenifa so much, I was out there and everyone was celebrating me so much. I was invited to a club where I met Dbanj for the first time and he gave me his number and inquired if there is a sequence to Jenifa, I told him No and he questioned why as he noted how Jenifa is a brand I can feast on for the rest of my life.

    ” He told me that when I have a brand, you feed on the brand, you milk the brand very well and make money out of it.

    ” Out of his pocket, he gave me money and said I should go write another Jenifa and he supported me with the money, advised me to continue shooting Jenifa. That’s how the Return of Jenifa came about. God used @iamdbanj to speak to me to have the Jenifa brand.

    “Dbanj you’re more than just a musician, you’re a movement! Your music has brought joy to our hearts, and your legacy will live on forever”.

    Award-winning actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has generously donated two million naira to several Celestial Churches in Nigeria.

    Funke’s act of kindness is in celebration of the church’s month of children’s harvest.

    The popular actress announced on her Instagram page that she aims to support over 20 churches with a donation of one hundred thousand naira each.

    Funke Akindele wrote: “Happy Juvenile Harvest to our children!!

    “We would like to give 100,000 Naira to 20 celestial churches for the children!!

    Akindele shared this update with her fans, expressing her humility for being recognized as Nollywood’s highest-grossing actress by Filmone.

    Award-winning actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, celebrated for her iconic television comedy series “Jenifa’s Diary,” has disclosed plans for a thrilling new installment in the beloved franchise.

    The mother of two shared the exciting news of the movie relaunch on her social media, signaling the long-awaited return of the beloved character Jenifa to the screens.

    In her recent post on Instagram, Funke teased fans, remarking, “It has been a long you saw Jenifa,” hinting at the reappearance of the endearing and comical character.”

    Captioning the post, Funke wrote: “It has been a long you saw Jenifa.

    “Everybody Loves Jenifa’ is part of the Jenifa franchise which tells the tale of a naive and funny character of the same name.”

    Recall that the franchise’s popularity soared with the release of the sequel “Return of Jenifa” in 2011, cementing Jenifa’s status as a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.

    In addition to the main series, the Jenifa franchise has expanded its universe through successful spin-offs like “Aiyetoro Town” (2019, 18 episodes), which explored Jenifa’s village life, and “Jenifa on Lockdown” (2021).

    Actor Alesh Sanni has recounted the goodwill of Funke Akindele amid allegations of abandoning her junior colleague, Jumoke Aderounmu.

    The Nation reported that the late actress’ brother dragged Funke Akindele claiming that the movie star abandoned his sister during her trying times.

    He further alleged the movie star was faking love for her staff.

    But defending her, Alesh recalled how years ago when he posted someone needed a huge amount for medical bills, Funke Akindele reached out and sent the money.

    He claimed she instructed him not to post it, noting that it wasn’t once or twice the actress had done this.

    According to him: “I do tell people we’re all going through so much… I don’t say much about people I don’t know but this one weak me because Funke Akindele is someone that do things without making noise years ago when I posted someone who needed huge amount for medical bills, she reached out, and sent all the money, and told me not to post it.. not once, not twice …. 

    “So it’s so sad to see how crãzy some people can be …… don’t say what you don’t know about people…. @funkejenifaakindele keep being you ma… the lord is your strength and you won’t bury any of children.”

    Expressing love for her, he noted how she is God’s delight hence why no weapon fashioned against her and her household can prosper.

    Actress Funke Akindele has shared a chat with late Adeola Aderounmu’s brother who accused her of  hypocrisy..

    In the chat, the filmmaker reached out to her brother, sending  condolences over his loss.

    She made it known that at no point did her junior colleague, Paschaline Alex inform her of Jumoke’s cry for help.

    She claimed she was the one who personally reached out to Jide Awobona to ask about her whereabouts.

    Funke added that she will never turn a deaf ear to anyone in need around her as she noted how she gives without making noise.

    “Hello. I’m so sorry for your loss. At no time did Paschaline Alex tell me Jumoke reached out. I was the one who recently asked Jide Awobona of her whereabouts. I’m deeply sorry for this loss.     Funke Akindele further prayed for any enemy around her masquerading as a friend to be exposed, disgraced, and destroyed.

    Box office queen, Funke Akindele has shared a cryptic post hours after being called out by late actress Adejumoke’s brother for ‘eye-service’.

    Aderounmu Adejumoke passed away and Funke Akindele, who starred in a film with her, expressed condolences over the loss.

    However, Adejumoke’s brother claimed that the actress never reached out to his sister during all the times she was sick despite calls to her.

    His claim sparked a controversy online and many lambasted the actress for this.

    Funke Akindele took to her Instagram page to share a quote speaking on wanting to start respecting energies and ceasing to chase people who don’t resonate with her.

    “Start respecting your energy and stop chasing people who don’t resonate with you,” the post reads.

    Brother of the late actress, Adejumoke Aderounmu, has called out actress, Funke Akindele, for sending in her condolences after allegedly ignoring her when she needed help.

    Aderounmu, popularly known for her feature in the hit series Jenifa’sDiary, died during the weekend over an undisclosed ailment.

    While reacting to the demise, via the comment session of an Instagram blog post, Funke wrote, “Sad!!!! @jideawobona I still asked about her. Omg. May her soul rest in peace.”

    In response, Aderounmu’s brother, in a series of posts via his Instagram page, commended Nollywood stars, Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga for reaching out to his sister, unlike Funke.

    The deceased’s brother added there was no point in showing love when Funke Akindele failed to do the same when his sister was alive.

    He wrote: “You that they called tirelessly, weh you no turn up, she even sent Pascal to you, you still no reach out. Why the eye service now when she don kpai? Omo shout-out to Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga. Terrible person! If you want to defend anybody, it’s fine. After all there is nothing we can do about it.

    “But don’t be a hypocrite by changing the narrative. Nobody is feeling entitled! If you refuse to show love when person dey alive, no dey do eye service when the person kpai, just look away, nobody go reason your matter.”

    Award-winning actress Funke Akindele has spent vacation with her twins in Dubai.

    The mother of two shared the pictures and video on her Instagram story on Thursday, showing off the twins enjoying their bath in a jacuzzi alongside their mother, actress Juliana Olayode and others.

    In the video, the actress could be seen having fun with her boys and Juliana Olayode.

    However, the faces of the twin boys were not shown in the pictures and video. 

    They had their faces turned to their mother and their backs turned to the camera.

    Funke and her ex-husband JJC got married in a private ceremony in London on August 23, 2016, the eve of her 39th birthday and welcomed their twins in 2018.

    The actress has managed to keep the twins’ private life out of social media as their facial identity remains unknown.
