    Popular actress Funke Akindele and estranged husband, JJC Skillz, have reunited barely a year after separation.

    JJC Skillz in 2022 announced his marriage with Funke had crashed over undisclosed reasons.

    Despite the social media curiosity on what led to their fall out, Funke refused to disclose the reasons for their separation.

    However, the duo met at the movie premiere of ‘She must be obeyed’, which the duo produced and directed before their separation.

    Amazon Prime Video is set to debut its latest mini-series titled ‘SHE Must Be Obeyed’.
    The five-part series, which delves into the intriguing world of stardom and secrets, will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on Friday, September 29, 2023.

    Award-winning actress Funke Akindele has implored individuals to show kindness towards those grieving the death of a loved one.

    She explained the importance of being gracious to those that mourn, noting it’s a phase when one is overwhelmed with an awful feeling.

    She reiterated her point, cautioning people without pleasant things to say to mourners to rather maintain silence.

    Akindele stated this while empathising with the family and loved ones of late singer Mohbad.

    The film maker said: “Pls be watchful of what you say when people are mourning.

    Actress Funke Akindele appreciates mentee for acknowledging her efforts

    Multi-award-winning Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has reacted to the accolades bestowed on her by her junior colleague, Moshood Fattah in his latest interview session.

    Moshood, during a recent interview with a media personality, Chude Jideonwo, revealed how he has worked with great directors on stage and television, but had a wholesome and inspiring experience with Funke Akindele.

    The actor further described Funke as a multitasking genius, stating that the world needs to study the filmmaker.

    He said: “In my entire life, I have worked with great directors, on stage, television, and film, but watching Funke Akindele’s work is a master class. She is in the mud, with no shoes, doing a scene, she is directing, she is making decisions on someone’s costume, and then she goes into action.

    “And I am like, how do you do that? She is a multitasking genius. Watching her work, that is someone the world needs to study. And she’s incredibly balanced. Her work ethic scares me, but it inspires me. You can’t be fancy about the work if you don’t want to do the work.”

    Reacting via her Instagram page, Funke appreciated the actor for his kind words and also expressed how proud she is that her work ethic is an inspiration to many.

    Famous actress, Funke Akindele is grateful for another trip around the sun as she turns 46 today, Thursday August 24, 2023.

    Penultimate to her natal day celebration, the top movie maker flew with her family to the United Kingdom for a well-deserving vacation after working tirelessly and so hard.

    She exuded immense excitement in the video shared on her Instagram handle which captured the point they all left their home in Lagos, Nigeria and headed to the international airport to board their flight to the UK.

    The video also captured the moment they arrived in London and were about to land.

    She expressed overwhelming joy for the blessings enjoyed by her from the previous year till this point. 

    She added that it was a great feeling to be able to go on the vacation with her family; appreciating God for the wherewithal.

    The ‘Jenifa Diary’ maker looked forward to relaxing and being taken care of while on her well-earned holiday.

    Returning glory to God, the mother of two wished herself a happy birthday, praying against anguish for the rest of her days.

    While this is Funke’s debut as a feature film director, production has begun on the sizzling political satire with an all-star cast.

As the political drama unfolds, it seems possible that even the most inept candidate, with little to offer voters except viral soundbites and amusing antics, can mount a serious challenge for the presidency.

  • Funke Akindele announces Handwash Challenge

    Nollywood actress and producer, Funke Akindele, has announced her CSR work on promoting hygiene and good health in Nigeria through Dettol’s Clean Naija Initiative.

    She disclosed this on Silverbird TV breakfast show, ‘Today on STV’, where she discussed her career and motherhood.

    The ‘Jenifa’ creator also spoke on the need for better general health practices including daily hand hygiene which can prevent illnesses like diarrhoea, making families and communities healthier and happier.

    When asked what her partnership with Dettol means for Nigerians, Funke Akindele said: “Our goal is to get 20 million clean hands by the end of year 2020, and as such, I’d personally champion the promotion of proper personal hygiene in Nigeria. This is possible because, Dettol has products such as the antiseptic liquid, the anti-bacterial soap and hand sanitizer which will be instrumental to the achievement of our mandate.”

    She rounded up her time on the show by announcing the start of the National Handwash Challenge which is a social campaign that will help raise the consciousness of handwashing amongst active Nigerians.

    In a bid to promote hygiene among mothers and children, and deepen the culture of cleanliness in the country, Dettol and its brand ambassador, Funke Akindele-Bello, have embarked on aggressive sensitisation in schools and hospitals. This is done through the Clean Naija initiative, an advocacy to educate new mothers and children on best health practices.

    To achieve this goal, Akindele-Bello, a mother herself, visited hospitals and schools in Lagos where she motivated and taught children and women to imbibe the practice of caring for their body through personal hygiene.

    According to the popular Nollywood actress, personal hygiene include bathing, washing of hands, regular brushing of teeth, and more, stressing that people often come in contact with millions of outside germs and viruses that can linger on their body, and in some cases, make them fall sick. To be on the safe side, according to Akindele-Bello, the use of Dettol can help in preventing bacterial infections.

    Speaking on the rationale behind the campaign, Cassandra Uzo-Ogbugh, brand manager (purposeful marketing), Reckitt Benckiser, makers of Dettol and other hygiene products, quoted a report by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), which claimed that about 150,000 children under the age of five years die annually from diarrhea-related diseases. These deaths could have been prevented with better personal hygiene practices, the brand manager said. “With Dettol’s hygiene education programs, we strongly believe that with sensitisation and education on the importance of proper hand and personal hygiene, this statistics will be greatly reduced.”

    Uzo-Ogbugh explained further that the Clean Naija campaign aims to create awareness and drive behavioural change to achieve a cleaner and healthier Nigeria through ‘Dettol’s New Mums and School Hygiene’ programmes. Akindele-Bello was unveiled as Dettol’s brand ambassador in April this year to serve as a role model for mothers, children and other Nigerians to imbibe the culture of hand-washing and personal hygiene.
