    Comedian Gbenga Adeyinka is set to wrap up the year with a grand celebration of laughter and music as Laffmattazz with Gbenga Adeyinka and Friends stages “The Last Show” of 2025.

    The event will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    Now in its 18th year, Laffmattazz has travelled across Nigeria and beyond, including its first-ever UK tour this year. The 2025 finale returns to Lagos, where the idea for the show was born, in what promises to be a memorable night of comedy, music and cultural performances.

    “This year’s show is special for me,” Gbenga Adeyinka said in a statement. “Lagos made me who I am, and it feels right to close the year in the city that gave me my voice and my audience.”

    Adeyinka added that the event would celebrate the city’s culture and energy. “Lagos is more than a location. It’s a spirit; vibrant, diverse and full of life. We’re bringing that essence to the stage.”

    The night will feature a mix of comedy greats and music stars, including Alibaba, Niniola, 9ice, Sunny Neji, Timi Dakolo, Omobaba, Edo Pikin, Musiliu Haruna Ishola, Dr Smile, and several others.

    Guests will also enjoy live performances from Aristos Band, DJ MASS, and other acts.

    Speaking further, Gbenga said: “This is a thank-you note to everyone who has supported us since day one. Comedy is one of Nigeria’s strongest exports. Through Laffmattazz, we’ve shown that laughter truly unites people, no matter where they are.”

    Comedian Gbenga Adeyinka has penned a heartfelt tribute to Dele Momodu, the renowned publisher of Ovation magazine, as he celebrated his 65th birthday. 

    Adeyinka reflected on the profound impact Momodu has had on his life and career, particularly recalling a moment when Momodu provided crucial support during a challenging time.

    According to Adeyinka, he was stranded in London after a performance due to airline issues, Momodu stepped in, inviting him to dinner and generously offering financial assistance to cover his needs.

    Adeyinka praised Momodu’s embodiment of values such as kindness, integrity, and generosity. 

    He highlighted Momodu’s role in opening doors for him early in his career, including opportunities to perform for royalty and high society.

    In his birthday message, Adeyinka wished Momodu continued good health, joy, and success, expressing gratitude for his mentorship and inspiration. 

    He wrote on Instagram: “As we celebrate the remarkable milestone of Aare Bamidele Ojutelegan Ajani Momodu’s 65th birthday, I am filled with immense gratitude for the profound impact he has had on my life and career. In my early days as a comedian, he believed in me when many others did not. He was the first person to take me abroad to perform for royalty and the upper echelons of society, opening doors I could have only dreamed of.

    The Easter Sunday edition of the 2025 edition of Laffmattazz with Gbenga Adeyinka and Friends turned the Jogor Centre, Ibadan, into a hub of entertainment, leaving unforgettable memories for thousands who attended.

    Hosted by the Grand Comedian of the Federal Republic, Gbenga Adeyinka, the show lived up to its hype with Kunle Afolayan, Sola Sobowale, Seun Soyinka, Aisha Lawal and other celebrities in attendance.

    Opening the night in grand style, Adeyinka made a dramatic entrance with a ‘Dorime’ dance alongside the ever-vibrant Kiekie, setting the tone for an evening of non stop laughter, music, and excitement.

    The lineup of performance was nothing short of electrifying with Mr P (Peter Okoye of P-Square), Terry Akpala, Babatunmise, and Keanzo thrilling the audience.

    The comedy kept rolling in with the likes of Kenny Blaq, Omobaba No.1, Taichi, Rapin Dady, Baba Alariya, Mr Escom, Stylo, Kamo State, Creative Tobi, and many others.

    DJs Secxy and Mass held the crowd spellbound with favourite mixes that elevated the event to party status.

    True to the Laffmattazz tradition, the night came packed with surprises and giveaways. Fans competed in the Ibadan Yoruba challenge, a spirited dance contest, and even got stage haircuts, thanks to Hair sense Salon, which also gave away 10 clippers.

    Comedian, actor and master of ceremony, Gbenga Adeyinka D 1st has expressed gratitude to attendees of the 2023 edition of his Laffmattazz Lagos Again comedy, music and arts show.

     “What I felt was even higher than ‘over happiness’ if there’s anything like that in the dictionary. There is nothing more gratifying than planning an event and having everything fall into place, I am overjoyed,” Adeyinka D 1st began. “The support from the Lagos State government was massive. The Honourable Commissioner Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka led a robust team to our event while the Speaker Rt. Hon Obasa led the legislatures and also the LSDPC boss, Mr Ayo Joseph, who supported.”

     On Sunday, November 26, 2023, Gbenga Adeyinka D 1st’s Laffmattazz train stopped at the Balmoral centre on Victoria Island, Lagos for the Lagos Again edition.

     The nine-hour-long comedy and music show kicked off with an orange carpet sponsored by Maltina.

     The music cum comedy show saw a total of 33 entertainers – music and comedy stars – thrilling over 3,500 guests that attended the Lagos Again edition.

     Performers include Damola, MC Lozy, Prince Phelar, MC 90s, MC Stylo and Ashny. Other performers that made the event memorable include music superstars and comedy experts that were led by Tuface Idibia, Adewale Ayuba, Alibaba, Ruggedman, Funnybone, Real Iyke, Destalker, Bowjoint, Koffi tha Guru, MC Ajele, MC Bash, Baba Alariya, Dr. Smile, and many others.

    Gbenga Adeyinka’s Laffmattazz train moves to Abeokuta for Independence

    Gbenga Adeyinka’s Laffmattazz train will arrive for another edition in Abeokuta, Ogun state on Sunday, October 1.

    For the 2023 edition in Abeokuta, the comedy and music show will parade top music acts and comedians led by Mr P of the P-Square fame and Gbenga Adeyinka respectively.

    Other comedy acts scheduled for performance at the Independence edition in Abeokuta are OmoBaba, Baba Alariya, Dr. Smile, and Ajele amongst others.

    The show, which has been making waves across the South West states, is ready to once again bring joy to Ogun state residents with support from various brands including Maltina, Eleganza industries and Goldberg. It will be held inside the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library marquee in Abeokuta.

    In a recent chat, the 55-year-old Gbenga Adeyinka explained that the Laffamattazz comedy and music train is not just a typical comedy show but a cultural phenomenon that blends comedy, music, and entertainment to enrich the lives of those in Ibadan, Osun, Lagos and Ogun states.

    Adeyinka further stated that Laffmattazz is more than just an event but rather a celebration of laughter and music which was borne out of his passion for comedy and his desire to give back to his community.

    The memory of the Ileya festival will remain refreshing in the mind of Ilorin residents as Gbenga Adeyinka and other top entertainers stormed the city with the best of music and comedy to mark the holiday.

    The Laffmattazz train which was brought to Ilorin was supported by Maltina brand who had their crew  on hand to deliver their premium malt taste to guests at the show, as well as keep them engaged with games and other fun activities.

    The show which was tagged “Loud In Ilorin”,  held at the Arca Santa Arena in Ilorin and it witnessed the presence of important personalities as well as A-list actors, music artists and comedians. Kicking off at 2 pm the show had performances from the likes of Terry G, Eedris Abdukareem, Majek Fashek, Jaywon, Qdot, Lord of Ajasa, Helen Paul, Omobaba, Princess and other entertainers who the crowd were so delighted to see.

    Gbenga Adeyinka who has been the show’s headliner for the last six years made a grand entrance right after Small Doctor’s performance. He held the audience down for nearly twenty minutes with rib-cracking jokes and the right demonstrations to keep everyone entertained. The last performance of the day came from Reminisce who wrapped things up with some of his well-known hits.

    Fans were totally delighted at the show and the opportunity to mark the holiday in a fun way. A visibly excited attendee, Umaru Salaudeen said;

    “This was a really good show and money well spent. The comedians were on point with their jokes, same as the artistes, especially 2Baba. I am happy I came out to experience it.”

    Oluseun Lawal, Senior Brand Manager, Maltina, expressed delight at the success of the show and the opportunity it gave the brand to engage with consumers.

    Nigeria’s top-notch touring comedy and music show, Laffmatazz with Gbenga Adeyinka and Friends is set to storm Ilorin, Kwara State on August 13.

    The show which kicked-off in Ibadan in April, and recently rocked the city of Akure, will liven up Ilorin in its characteristic tradition of “Sharing Happiness” with Maltina, the lead sponsor of the event.

    This “Loud In Ilorin” themed show will attract some of the biggest stars in music and comedy namely Reminisce, Majek Fashek, 2Baba, Ruggedy Baba, Chinko Ekun, Omobaba, Alariya, Terry G, The Small Doctor, Chi Young, Marina of Comedy, Shete, Akpororo, Funny Bone, Helen Paul, Dr Smile and Peteru.

    Over six years, Laffmatazz has become a comedy platform that is widely accepted in Western Nigeria, breaking the jinx of Lagos being the comedy centre of the nation.
