    According to him, his desire is that God would keep him away from people with desperate ideas.

    He said his focus is on making good music.

    On his X handle, he wrote: “I can never do some dumb sh*t so you can check out my music! My biggest prayer is that God keep us away from dumb ish.

    Jesse Jagz responsible for Choc Boiz split, says Ice Prince

    Rapper and singer, Panshak Henry Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince, has called out his colleague, Jesse Jagz for being the cause of the split of Choc Boiz.

    Recall that the Choc Boiz Collective which comprised M.I, Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince split after the last two left Chocolate City to form their own record labels, Jesse Jagz Nation and Super Cool Cat, respectively.

    However, in a recent interview with Echoo Room, Ice Prince said Jesse Jagz should have done more to keep the collective together.

    He said: “The person that’s responsible for not putting this Choc Boiz Collective musically together is Jesse Jagz. I feel he needs to put more ginger for it to happen.

    “Jesse you have to take one for the team, bro. A lot of times the blames always get pointed to M.I. because he is the big bro, he has to take the blame. But Jesse you have to take one for the team. It’s your fault my G. You need Jesse than he is available for the team right now.”

    I created ‘Afrobeats’ genre, says Ice Prince

    Famous rapper, Panshak Henry Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince, has stated that his 2011 song ‘Oleku’ featuring Brymo was the first song to be considered as “Afrobeats.”

    He said after so much deliberation, he and his team decided to add an “s” to Afrobeat, which was created by Fela Kuti to give an identity to their new sound when they were sending ‘Oleku’ to international radio stations.

    The rapper explained that Ghanaian-British disk jockey, DJ Abrante is widely credited for coining Afrobeats because he was the one who playlisted ‘Oleku,’ stressing that the DJ used the tag Afrobeats on the directive of him and his team.

    Speaking in a recent interview with Echoo Room, Ice Prince said: “‘Oleku’ was one of the first songs to be playlisted on BBC Radio. One of the first Afrobeats songs to be playlisted. And at that time, foreign DJs didn’t know what to call our music and they couldn’t call it Afrobeat. So, I and my team told them to put an ‘s’ it to make it Afrobeats.

    “Check the history, ‘Oleku’ was the first Afrobeats record. Because they have to label it on a radio station, that was why we put the ‘s.’ If not tell me who came up with the ‘s’ at the end? A lot of people said it is credited to DJ Abrante, but guess what? Abrante was the one that playlisted the song ‘Oleku.’ That’s my own claim o!”

    Famous rapper, Panshak Henry Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince Zamani, gave one of his most expensive diamond wristwatches to a fan at his concert.

    In a recent video made available on social media, a very excited male fan displayed the said wristwatch and laughed excitedly before the camera.

    The video was supported with a caption that reads: ‘Ice Prince Zamani gave a fan his diamond wristwatch for free. OMG.’

    Famous Nigerian rapper and singer, Ice Prince Zamani, has expressed how proud he is of Wizkid and Burna Boy for their commendable growth and achievements in the music industry.

    He said Wizkid told him he was going to achieve everything he has now achieved musically ten years ago.

    The one-time BET Best African Act of the Year winner said he is one of those who watched the likes of Wizkid and Burna Boy grow in the music industry.

    The Super Cool Cat boss stated this while appearing in the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Shopsydoo.

    “I have seen Burna Boy tell me, Yo, I’m gonna do this. I’m gonna do that. And at that time, it was prophesying, not even sure how it was going to happen.

    “So, to see it happening now, it was like wow, wow, wow! Dreams do actually come true. I’m super proud of these guys. I’m one of those people who can tell you I watched these guys grow up.”

    Famous Ice Prince  has crowned his colleague Rema as “one of the greatest musicians ever on earth.”

    Ice Prince lauded the successes and efforts of ‘new cats’, adding that the respect they accord him as a legend is overwhelming.

    Ice Prince stated this while appearing on the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide, aka Shopsydoo.

    He said: “Talking about the young artists and how much they accept me or show me love and regard me as a legend, I just want to say how extremely proud I am of these young guys.

    “Choc Boys will drop an album; M.I, Ice Prince and Jesse Jagz,” he added.

    Nigerians, South Africans fight with brotherly love, says Ice Prince

    Famous rapper Ice Prince has termed the scrimmage between Nigerians and South Africans on social media as ‘brotherly love’.

    The Jos-born singer made this known while featuring as a guest in the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide, popularly called Shopsydoo.

    Ice Prince claimed the two nations are literally brothers, stressing they want the best for each other, and there is no major beef between them.

    He said: “I think the rivalry between Nigerians and South Africans is just brotherly love. You know how in a family, brothers always go at each other? I guess that’s what it is.

    “We are literally brothers. We’re from the same father and mother; Nigerians, South Africans, Ghanaians, Kenyans. As long as you are black, you are African. We’re one and the same.

    “So, the way brothers logged heads in the family, I guess that’s what it is. It’s not a real issue. South Africans want to see Nigerians do better.

    “Nigerians want to see South Africans do better. I guess that is what it is. We are just pushing ourselves as long as it doesn’t get too far where the beef leads to some ugly stuff.

    Nigerian Hip-hop artiste, Panshak Zamani aka Ice Prince Sunday night thrilled fun seekers with an exciting performance at a food expo in Abuja.

    Hundreds of Abuja residents trooped out in their numbers to attend the event tagged ‘Colors Food’ at River Plate Park in Wuse 2.

    The event also featured display of foods, drinks, music, fashion and dance performances.

    The crooner performed his popular afrobeat hit, ‘Oleku’ alongside some of his other popular songs and got the crowd surging towards him, and chorusing the lyrics of the songs.

    Zamani while performing, introduced some upcoming artists, urging fans to look forward to the release of their songs.

    Kwaghdoo Nyagba, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Food Expo, said that she was excited at the turn-out of Abuja residents.

    She said that she had to ensure an artist performed to help boost the confidence of her clients and revellers across the city.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the last edition of the event scheduled for Dec 2, left fun seekers disappointed as Innocent Idibia, a.k.a Tu Face did not perform as expected.

    Nyagba said that she was glad Ice Prince gave a superb performance.

    “ The cheer from the crowd has further encouraged me to try as much as possible to invite an artist to perform during the next food expo.

    “The invitation of an artist to perform at food expo has always helped with the growth of my business as people look forward to the fun-thrilled night,” she said.

    The Lagos State Government ( LASG ) has been commended for hosting  successful carnivals  in 2017 which were devoid of violence and vices.

    Benedict Afagwu, popularly known as ‘DJ Humility’, told newsmen in Lagos that the success was due to the provision of security agents at strategic locations where the events took place.

    “The Lagos State Government carnivals held in 2017 were successful and glamorous.

    “The carnivals attracted lots of people and provided avenues for revellers to relax and cool off in preparation for harder work in 2018,” he added.

    DJ Humility also said that the carnivals provided opportunities for petty traders to make an income which alleviated the harmful effects of unemployment in the country.

    “Lots of traders were seen around carnival grounds making sales and increasing their incomes as they engage with fun seekers in an atmosphere of merriment.’’

    DJ Humility started making waves when he emerged the overall winner in the Benson & Hedges DJ Championship in Year 2000.

    He has won several awards and worked with several popular music artistes to create beats for melodious songs.

    Some of his hit songs include, “All Over Me” featuring Ice Prince, “DJ’s Anthem” featuring Kevino, “Conga” featuring Timaya, and “Badman”, featuring Sugarboiz, among others.

    DJ Humility is currently a radio DJ in one of the radio stations in Lagos State.

    Ice Prince, Seyi Law, others receive Achievers Awards

    Popular Hip-hop singer Ice Prince and a veteran comedian Seyi Law, have been honoured with the “Peace Achievers Awards” by the Peace Ambassador Agency, an organisation that promotes national peace.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the duo received the awards at the 6th anniversary of the annual Miss Peace Achievers Awards held on Sunday in Abuja.

    The Plateau state born artiste received the “Musician of the Year /Peace Builder” award, while Seyi Law got the “Comedian of the Year/Peace Builder” award.

    Other celebrities that were honoured at the event include fast-rising Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels and singer Praize.

    According to Mr Kinsley Amafibe, the Project Director of the organisation, the  artistes are recognised for contributing to the growth of  the Nigerian entertainment industry which has empowered many youths, thereby promoting peaceful coexistence.

    He added that some of the recipients had also been involved in humanitarian gestures over the years, which had promoted social peace and harmony, which was in consonance with the objectives of the organisation.

    “These veterans have contributed a lot in building social harmony and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria, using the entertainment industry.

    “They entertain and bring happiness to Nigerians, which are crucial keys to peace, in spite of tribal and religious differences.”

    In his remark, Ice Prince expressed delight that the award was an indication that the society was interested in what celebrities do.

    He, therefore, pledged his continuous commitment towards growing the entertainment industry.

    “I hope to strive to continue to put in my best both as a professional and a patriotic citizen of this great nation,’’ he said.

    The 2017 edition of the prestigious awards cuts across over 20 categories with recipients picked from various field of human endeavours.

    Other recipients of the Peace Achievers awards include the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai, who was honoured with the “Award for Excellence in Peacekeeping” and the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu.

    Mr Kenneth Emejuru was honoured with the a ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’,and  the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service ( FIRS ), Mr Tunde Fowler was also honoured.

    Amb. Louis LuLu Mnguni, The South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, also received the Peace Builder awards, and Raymond Dokpesi of DAAR Communication got the “The Peace Builder of the Year Award”.

    NAN reports that the Peace Achievers Award is a flagship initiative of the Peace Ambassador Agency.

    The organisation promotes tolerance and peaceful coexistence by organizing beauty pageants, peace education and campaigns.

    Its peace education campaign, which is targeted mainly at the youths, trains and empowers students of higher institutions and other youth communities, irrespective of their religious and cultural backgrounds.
