    Why I’m supporting Lizzy Anjorin’s senior wife, Folashade – Iyabo Ojo reveals

    Controversial Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has denied allegations of supporting Folashade Sariyu, the estranged wife of Lateef Lawal, as a means to retaliate against her colleague Lizzy Anjorin.

    The two actresses have a longstanding feud, which has played out online despite attempts by industry veterans to mediate.

    Iyabo Ojo recently facilitated the release of Folashade from police custody over an issue with her estranged husband, Lateef, and Lizzy.

    In an interview with Punch, Iyabo Ojo clarified that her support for Folashade is driven by perceived injustice allegedly being meted out to her by Lizzy Anjorin.

    She said: “I am not supporting her to get at Liz Anjorin. I am supporting her because I can see that there is an injustice going on. Fast-forward to the current issue, when I realised that she was insulting me because of that lady, I decided to take it up. That was why I hosted her (Folasade) at my lounge, and even posted her account number, so that people could support her business. I also gave her a shop, where she could be selling her goods. When she told me that she was a single mother, who was struggling to survive, I told her that she would be my goddaughter.”

    I’m very religious but I don’t go to church, says Iyabo Ojo

    Controversial Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has disclosed an unfamiliar aspect of herself, revealing that she is very religious.

    However, despite her religious inclination, she said that she doesn’t attend church.

    Ojo recalled being the first person in her family to dedicate her life to Christ.

    The actress shared this revelation in the latest episode of Celebrities Quickies when asked to disclose something not widely known about her.

    She said: “I am a very religious person. I don’t know if people know that about me though. But I don’t go to church. Is that not weird?

    “Growing up, I think I am the first person that gave her life to Christ in my home. And I joined the choir. I was in the choir for about four years. And I read the bible from Genesis to Revelations back-and-forth trying to know God before backsliding.”

    She also revealed that her dream city to visit is Paris, in France.

    Reality stars of the trending TV show, Real Housewives of Lagos (RHOL), Iyabo Ojo, Chioma Ikokwu, and Tania Omotayo have blasted the organisers of the show for deliberately cutting out their reunion and settlement scene with their colleagues.

    Chioma Ikokwu who is also known as Chioma Goodhair expressed surprise at why their brief reunion was not included in the finale of season 2.

    She stated that it was cut out to suit the ongoing narrative of a bully.

    Chioma wrote: “Omg I think I was still “rubbing” my powder and lipgloss in the room when these pics were taken. I wonder why this didn’t make the cut … could it be because it wasn’t negative and we were all actually getting along? And it wouldn’t suit the bully/division narrative that they’ve tried so hard to push.”

    On Instagram, Iyabo Ojo taunted the show for being ‘biased’ and silent regarding the controversial issue on social media.

    The actress stated that they were all aware of whatever was going on in the show.

    She also penned a note to other ladies who intend to join the show.

    “Trust me, we’re all aware…..Note!!! Reality shows are not for the faint at heart. Future Real Housewives, when coming on a reality show, be ready for drama, gbasgbos, and more gbasgbos…….Reunion on my mind.”

    Tania Omotayo on her part is displeased with the fact that the said reunion was cut off because it is not negative.

    Tania Omotayo wrote: “I’m still shocked that they deleted this whole scene. After that breakfast table situation, we all had a blast and got along but they will never show that because it’s not negative. This is how the show should have ended. A complete joke.”

    Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has advised future participants of the trending reality show, Real Housewives of Lagos, to prepare their minds for constructive and destructive criticisms.

    The advice follows the backlash Iyabo Ojo has received recently from the fans and participants of the show.

    In a post on her Instagram page, she said that reality shows aren’t for the faint at heart, saying that one must be ready for drama, ‘gbas gbos’ and more.

    The movie star, who is gearing up for her 46th birthday happening tomorrow, added that reunion is on her mind.

    She wrote: “Trust me, we’re all aware. Note!! Reality shows are not for the faint at heart.

    “Future Real Housewives, when coming on a reality show, be ready for drama, ‘gbasgbos’, and more gbasgbos…Reunion on my mind.”

    Controversial Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has counter-sued Naira Marley to the tune of N1billion after being served a N500 million lawsuit by the latter for defamation of character. 

    The Nation reported that Azeez Adeshina Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, had dragged Iyabo to court, demanding a public apology or face legal proceedings worth N500 million in damages.

    In his lawsuit, Naira accused the actress of defaming him by posting false and malicious content about him on her Instagram page.

    In response, she stated that the singer’s lawyer never thought it was worthwhile to serve her the lawsuit privately, preferring to disseminate it online.

    The fearless mother of two had also filed a lawsuit, a counterclaim, against him for failure to serve her the suit by hand or through mail, which could lead to blackmail.

    The movie star is demanding N1 billion from the singer for deliberately misleading the public.

    “She wrote: RESPONSE TO THE LETTER FROM MR OLALEKAN OJO SAN DELIBERATELY CIRCULATED OVER SOCIAL AND PRINT MEDIA WITHOUT DESERVING COURTESY TO SERVE ME.

    “I look forward to hearing from them in no distant time, please. Yours sincerely, Iyabo Ojo.”

    Bullying: Iyabo Ojo apologises to friends, family over misrepresentation of character

    Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has officially tendered an unreserved apology to her co-reality stars, Laura Ikeji and Faith Morey.

    The controversial mother of two, took to her Instagram page to clear the air with a heartfelt apology to her fans who also felt disappointed with her behaviour on the hit reality show, Real Housewives of Lagos.

    Denouncing any form of bullying, Iyabo said she has remained the same person over the years and stands for justice and fairness.

    She revealed that one of her main goals of starring on a reality TV show was to entertain everyone and give them a show worthy of their time and she achieved her aim.

    However, in the midst of it all, she admitted that she offended some people with her behaviour, which connotes attributes of bullies.

    She stated that her love and support for the late singer Mohbad is dear to her heart and has no regret fighting for him, but finds it hard that people likened her behaviour on the show to her support for him.

    Iyabo penned a short note to her kids as well as her lover, Paulo Okoye for his unwavering support.

    She wrote: “I Iyabo Ojo, I am the same person at my core that you have always known over the years. I stand for justice and fairness. One of my main goals of starring on a reality TV show was to entertain everyone and give you all a show worthy of your time. I made sure that drama was the centrepiece of the show. In the midst of that drama, I may have offended some people and displayed some behaviours that are certain attributes of bullies. For that, I am truly sorry to all that I have offended.

    “I emphatically reject all forms of bullying. I have never bullied anyone in my day-to-day life nor condoned bullying in any form. For me to bully, is to continuously denigrate, hurt, and cause harm to others, and that is not me. Stepping on that dress on the show was a way to get talking points for the show for entertainment purposes, and we succeeded. No harm was meant.

    “Justice for the fallen singer Mohbad is something very dear to me and dear to millions of people around the world. I have no regrets, about being in this fight for him and his family. With this, I find myself dragged and people capitalizing and even belittling the gravity of the situation by equating it to a show. This is real life!

    “People who know me are aware that I give my all and last dime to people behind the scenes. I take care, nurture, and uplift others as much as I can. To read my daughter’s post, @its.priscy online broke my heart to even imagine the burden it must be for her and her brother to be dragged online just because of me. That moved me as a mother. I want them to know that I will give the world to them.

    “To my man Obim @pauloo2104, I love and respect how solid you are. Thank you for your unwavering support for me and for reminding me of my core values. You and I are ONE.

    “Finally, just as we can learn to live together in peace when we agree, we can also learn to be cordial in our differences towards each other”.

    Recall that Iyabo had reacted to the heavy cry she received over her dispute with Faith Morey on Real Housewives of Lagos Season 2.

    The movie star noted how many were comparing a reality show to real-life situations using Mohbad as an example, and revealed that she had apologised to Faith in private.

    Defending her behaviour, Iyabo stated that reality shows are edited to suit a certain narrative, as she noted how everyone can’t play the victim, enabler, or peacemaker.

    Her statement didn’t sit well with Faith Morey, who called her out for her lies and exposed the actress, and the two traded words online.

    A heavily pregnant Laura Ikeji had also slammed the movie star, revealing that the respect she once had for Iyabo as an idol has been diminished.

    She further called her out for her bullying behaviour.

    Hitting back at her, Iyabo slammed Laura for playing the victim, pointed out how her blogger sister, Linda Ikeji is the Queen of Bullies, and recounted the lies the famous blogger wrote about her.

    In a later post, Ojo lashed out at the producers of the reality show, stating that she had been trying to hold herself so that everyone could enjoy the show, but couldn’t hold it any longer

    Calling out the production team, she slammed them for their cut and joined which she considers irritating, and questioned why they cut out a particular scene which led up to her outburst.

    Iyabo Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, has taken to the internet to defend her mother against Naira Marley‘s claims and readiness to sue her.

    The Nation reported that Azeez Adeshina Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley had dragged Iyabo to court, demanding a public apology from the controversial actress or risk facing legal proceedings which could amount to N500 million as damages.

    In his lawsuit, Naira Marley accused the mother of two of defaming him, alleging that the actress published false and malicious content about him on her Instagram page.

    Reacting to it via her Instagram story, Priscilla noted how Naira Marley was yet to resolve issues of Mohbad’s catalogue and unpaid royalties, yet was filing a lawsuit against her mother.

    Blasting him for his audacity, she pointed out the hypocrisy of suing her mother, when there are codes of him bullying Mohbad before his untimely demise.

    She also slammed Nigerians for calling her mother a clout chaser because of her fight for Mohbad and how they are reading meaning to her content on the Real Housewives of Lagos reality show.

    “Who do you want to sue? You have not finished the case you have in court about the boy’s catalogue and his unpaid royalties, you are talking of suing when there is legit evidence of you and your gang bullying the young man before he died. The woman you all are dragging now came online to fight and was still at the police station back to back.

    “Till now she is still paying for DJ Splash’s hospital bills and treatment. She fought for this young man who was bullied but because one protein shake charcoal bodybuilder came to change the narrative and asked a grieving mother of 24 years for a DNA test, you all fell for it. He might not be alive to fight for himself but I know that his spirit cannot be asleep.”

    Recall that she had a disagreement with Liz Anjorin, Faith Morey, Laura Ikeji, dragging Linda Ikeji into the controversy.

    Naira Marley sues Iyabo Ojo, demands N500 million for damages

    Popular singer and Record label boss of the Marlian Label, Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, has slammed a N500 million suit on actress Iyabo Ojo for false accusations and defamatory content against him on the internet.

    The lawyer to the singer, Olalekan Ojo, in a letter sent to the actress, highlighted the accusations made in a September 2023 post on her Instagram page, stating that the actress accused Naira Marley of engaging in spiritual and physical dealings with the late singer MohBad.

    The lawyer also said the actress accused Naira Marley of causing mental harm to the late singer.

    Naira Marley’s attorney seeks a redress of N500 million from Iyabo Ojo and a public apology to be posted on her page and published in a national daily.

    According to the letter, failure to adhere to the condition placed would force them to file a lawsuit against her.

    The Nation reported that Iyabo Ojo had called out Naira Marley for various issues like drugging her children amongst others bad things. 

    The issue began after Naira Marley’s former signee, MohBad died tragically on September 12, 2023.
