    Nigeria’s vibrancy, culture behind afrobeats’ global rise — Joeboy

    Afrobeats sensation Joeboy has credited the genre’s global success to Nigeria’s vibrant culture and the expressive nature of its people.

    In a recent interview with Zwart, the singer said Nigerians’ outgoing spirit and willingness to showcase their heritage have been instrumental in taking Afrobeats to the world stage.

    He pointed out that the genre’s international appeal has also been boosted by Nigeria’s large population, abundant talent, and the power of social media.

    Joeboy added that the consistently high quality of music produced in Nigeria continues to reinforce Afrobeats as a global phenomenon.

    He said, “Afrobeats is here now because it has been a long time coming. And there’s so much talent, it’s only right that we just spread it to the world. Thankfully, Nigeria has a huge population back home and even in the diaspora.

    “Naturally, we are very loud. That’s what they said. So, we are very out there. And, wherever we are in the world, we like to represent our culture. That also played a huge role [in Afrobeats gaining global attention]. And also, social media and the quality of music coming out from Nigeria.”

    Joeboy loses N3m bet after Arsenal defeat Real Madrid in UCL

    Singer Joeboy has lost a N3 million bet after Arsenal defeated Real Madrid 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

    Joeboy had confidently backed Real Madrid to win on X, posting a betting slip with the caption, “Cashing out on Arsenal tears tonight!”

    If Madrid had won, he would have won N10,345,000, but Declan Rice’s two free-kick goals and Mikel Merino’s third goal sealed Arsenal’s victory.

    Joeboy’s bet was a significant one, with some of his friends, like Odumodublvck and Wizard Chan, potentially receiving N2 million each if Madrid had won.

    Arsenal now looks to have booked their spot in the semi-finals when they travel to the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg next Wednesday.

    Before that, they’ll face Brentford in the Premier League.

I started having Lavida sessions and there’s going to be Lavida Festival soon! I feel like there’s so much negativity in the world. Everybody’s trying to be toxic, everybody’s trying to huff and puff.”

    In his words, “One thing I’d want to say to every young person going through a difficult time is stay strong! – I try to not let problems overwhelm me. Don’t let it mess with your self-esteem or your self-belief.”

    Talkative ladies turns me off, says Joeboy

    Afrobeats singer Joeboy has opened up about his deal breakers in a relationship.

    In a recent interview with Zikoko, he revealed that he’s not a fan of women who talk excessively or seek validation on social media.

    For him, being expressive is different from talking too much, and he values a partner who knows the difference.

    Joeboy also shared his red flags, saying that if a woman is always posting for validation or comparing her relationship to others, that’s a major turn-off.

    The interviewer asked: “What are your deal breakers in a relationship?”

    Joeboy replied: “I don’t like girls that talk too much… I don’t mean girls that are expressive. Being expressive is different from talking too much. Some people just talk too much and I don’t like that.”

    On his red flags, he said: “If she is always posting for validation or saying, ‘Oh, this person is doing this in their relationship, why don’t we do this?’”

    On a more positive note, he mentioned that he’s currently in a relationship and loves that his partner has a great sense of humor.

    Interestingly, Joeboy has also spoken about what he looks for in a partner in the past.

    In another interview, he mentioned that a woman’s willingness to spend on him is a sign of her genuine affection.

    He emphasised that it’s the thought that counts, not the price tag.
