    THE General Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has called on Nigerians to choose credible leaders during the 2015 general elections.

    He spoke in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State, while announcing the Deeper Life two-day crusade in the state, which kicked off last weekend.

    He insisted that political sovereignty belonged to the people and advised the electorate to shun tribal and religious sentiments while voting for their leaders.

    He advised Nigerians to select leaders that could deliver on good governance and development.

    Kumuyi said: “Concerning the coming elections, the political power is in the hands of the people.

    “It is for the people to vote for credible people who can rule the country well and not those with selfish motives.

    “I urge Nigerians to vote for the right people. I believe that when we are able to vote for the right and proper people, we will together lift up the country”.

    Kumuyi dismissed the insinuation that members of his denomination are debarred from embracing modern technology, including watching television.

    He said as a graduate of Mathematics and a former lecturer, he had access to some technologies, stressing he would not deny people from using them.

    “I am a beneficiary of technology because we have been able to reach out to so many countries in the world through transmission on satellite,” he explained.

    Insecurity not peculiar to Nigeria, says Kumuyi

    The General Overseer of the Deeper life Christian Ministry, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, yesterday said that terrorism is a global challenge that is not peculiar to Nigeria. Kumuyi ,who addressed newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital, ahead of his special crusade with the theme “Supernatural Encounter”, maintained that it is difficult to judge the performance of the Federal Government in its quest to tackle insecurity in the country, adding that it is only the end result of its effort that can determine how it can be accessed. “It is difficult to judge the process of the Federal Government efforts towards tackling the insecurity problems in the country, but when we see the end result we would know if it is worth it,” he said. According to him, “terrorism is not linked to one country. Nobody is happy with insecurity, but with the support of everyone the situation could be managed,” Kumuyi stated. Speaking further on the special crusade, Kumuyi promised that the power of God would be at work to liberate the people from all forms of demonic oppression, saying that no one who attended the event will remain the same.

    The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi , on Sunday urged Africans to believe in God and be united in love so as to overcome the seemingly failure in the country.

    He said because all nations serve one God, we should have one goal, vision and direction just like the apostles of the early church who were not divided, but stayed true to each other in faith.

    Kunmuyi spoke during the Church two-day special mid-year celebration service held at its Conference Centre on Kilometre 42, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

    The theme of the service is: “When Mountains Move.”

    “We are not alone. God’s power resides in us as we all belong to God as members of His body that cannot be broken. God is faithful in his promise of making us priests and king in his kingdom. We are working together with Him as the tree and humans as the branches,” he said.

    Kumuyi urges Christians to emulate Christ

    THE General Superintendent, Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William F. Kumuyi, yesterday urged Christians expecting God’s reward to emulate Jesus and live as he did.

    In a sermon delivered at the Church’s ongoing National Easter Retreat in Lagos, he said, only Christians who sacrificed and suffer the way Christ did that should expect to be crowned by God.

    He said, “A life that has been saved from damnation through faith by Christ must be lived for the glory of Christ and not in pursuit of earthly things that are temporary. The glories of the earth pass away but the people who do the will of God will live forever.”

    According to Kumuyi, identification with Christ and His death on the cross must bring changes in character, in thought and in the expressions of Christians who expect a reward of eternal life with crowns in heaven.

    He called on Christians to be obedient to the commandments of God.

     

  • Things will get better this year -Kumuyi

    Nigerians have been advised to continue to put their hope and confident is God in the face of increasing socio-economic challenges in the country.

    This was the focus of the just concluded annual Deeper Life Bible Church, 2012 December Retreat held recently at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan expressway on the theme: “Receiving All round Security in Christ”.

    The programme started penultimate Thursday had thousands of Christian’s faithful from parts of Lagos State including Ikorudu, Epe and Badagry. The retreat also was held simultaneously in every state in Nigeria and virtually all the Africa countries, including Europe and Latin America.

    There were 14 heart rendering messages with two sessions of Bible study. Messages included: Reproducing Christ’s victory in believers: the believers power of a conqueror’s purity: wining the conqueror’s crown and Militants Overcomers in the triumphant church among others.

    In his sermon, Pastor Kumuyi said that Nigerians should keep their hope alive in God as 2013 is a year of blessings, victory, testmonies, sucess and delliverance for God’s people.

    Kumuyi reminded the participants to exhibit the virtue of endurance as there is always a price to pay for every achiever in Life “there is a cross to bear and different challenges to face which must be endure. We must persevere in holiness as heavenly citizens to be able to inherit all things Christ has prepared for us there”.

    While commenting on the current national issues, he said “while we battle with the ever growing problem of unemployment, underfunded educational institutions, increase in crime rate and various form of ethno-religious violence, we must not lose hope as God is still able to turn things around for good for us.

    He pointed out in the scripture “righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to any people” added that no nation can ever surmount its challenges without acknowledging God and His desire in the scheme of things.

    The cleric asserted that Nigeria shall overcome. We have passed through this testing tie before and we overcame. As we lessen our negative sides and play down our perceived difference, wise counsel and the real propagators of violence will be indentified and apprehended.

    The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has enjoined Nigerians to trust God in the face of insecurity.

    He spoke at the retreat organised by the church at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

    The five-day programme tagged: ‘All Round Security in Christ’, brought together thousands of Christians. It was held simultaneously in 774 local governments in Nigeria, Europe, Africa and America.

    According to Pastor Kumuyi, Nigerians must put their trust in God as this is the recipe for overcoming insecurity and other problems.

    He said believers should have faith in God, adding that faith is the key ingredient for walking successfully with God.

    Kumuyi admonished Christians to live a holy life.

     

  • Kumuyi urges artistes to influence society positively

    The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has challenged artistes to produce works that will make the society better.

    He spoke at an outreach for Yoruba-speaking film makers, musicians, marketers and other theatre practitioners in the Southwest.

    No fewer than 500 artistes attended the meeting, which held at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

    Kumuyi, represented by Head of the church’s Yoruba section, Pastor Rufus Bamigbayan, reminded the artistes they would render account of their deeds to God.

    According to him, their influence could be more powerful than that of kings as their messages reach larger audiences in farther places.

    The cleric charged them to shun vices and beware of the sources of inspiration for their works.

    Kumuyi urged them to eschew pride and arrogance which fame can bring.

    He spoke against piracy, saying it is sinful.

    The respected holiness preacher begged those involved in the act to repent.

    On why the programme was organised, Kumuyi told journalists: “Musicians, for instance, wield influence on the society but there is the danger of them misusing their talent.

    ‘’But if you get a musician converted to Christianity, he will render music positively and will affect society likewise.”

    He said through the programme, a “seed” has been sown into their lives, adding that the “total gospel” the artistes heard could lead to the formation of a “total man.”

    The church had held a similar session for traditional rulers.

    The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has urged Nigerians to forget the past and look ahead, saying that there was hope for the country.

    Kumuyi made this known on Monday in Abuja at the end of a four-day programme tagged “Divine Connection for Freedom”, organised by the church to mark the nation’s 52nd anniversary.

    He advised Nigerians to remain steadfast, adding that a better future lay ahead.

    Kumuyi also urged the country’s leaders to bequeath to the younger generation, the Nigeria of their dreams.

    “We should be concerned to give the younger generation the kind of a nation which they dream of.”

    He underscored the need for the realization of the Vision 20: 2020 Agenda, saying that it would move the country forward.

    “There is room for improvement, if every individual can do what he is expected to do; our nation will get to where it is expected to be.

    “Everybody knows that we are not happy the way we are; but we can stop and think about what we have not done right.

    “If there is a united focus and courage to move on, I believe that there is still a better future for Nigeria.

    “We have only one life to live and whatever we do this time, is what we will be remembered for. So let everybody do something positive and progressive.’’

    “This is because what we do for the few, will eventually affect the rest of the people, because we are living in a network of relationships,” the News Agency of Nigeria quoted Kumuyi as saying at the programme.

    Nigeria at 52: Kumuyi urges solution to Nigeria’s problems

    The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, has urged the leadership of the country to remain focused and find solution to the nation’s problems.

    Kumuyi gave the advice while briefing journalists in Abuja on the commencement of a four-day programme by the church with the theme: “Divine Connection for Full Freedom.”

    The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the programme is scheduled to hold at the headquarters of the church in Abuja from September28 to October 1, as part of activities to mark the nation’s independence anniversary.

    Kumuyi sympathised with families of the victims of the recent flood disasters across the country

    He said that only a focused leader would take the country to the Promised Land in the light of all the challenges facing it.

    He, therefore, advised the leaders to take heart and look at the future believing that the problems would be solved since it was God who put them in the position of authority.

    Kumuyi urged the leaders to make good use of the resources God gave to the country.

    “My message for our leaders is to take heart and to look at the future with a mind set of believing.

    “Sometimes, when problems overwhelm us and we are not able to settle down to look with focus and determination, we might be so shaken and wondering if there is a future.

    “We know that there is God in heaven; we know that God has appointed us, whoever we are as leaders to be in this particular place at this point in time,’’ he said.
