    Kumuyi backs anti-corruption fight

The General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) Pastor William F. Kumuyi has thrown his weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption and insurgency.

Speaking on how the church can help the President and other leaders in the fight against corruption, Kumuyi said “When we say the church, we are not just talking of buildings; we are talking of people that comes to church who also goes to offices. And for the church to support, preachers should teach our people to learn how to contribute positively to the progress of the country anywhere they are and so if you are a governor, commissioner, teacher, minister and among others, be your best for the country. Don’t think of what you can get out of the place that you are working, but how they can contribute to the place in order to support the efforts of the government”.

He further advised politicians to always remember to fulfill their campaign promises which have attracted criticisms from their subjects.

Earlier in his sermon, the DCLM GS preaching on the topic Riches of Christ’s Supernatural Love” described Gods love for man as inexhaustible and one that is beyond the imagination and understanding of man, adding that it was because of the love of God for man that made God to send His only begotten son to die so that man can be redeemed and reconciled back to God.

According to him, God is on a rescue mission and is ready to reach out to the deepest part of the earth to rescue anyone who wants to turn a new leaf.

  • Fight against corruption legitimate, says Kumuyi

General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry Pastor William Kumuyi has urged Nigerians to support government anti-corruption war.

He said this was not the time to criticise, but support President Muhammadu Buhari re-organisation and fight against graft .

Kumuyi spoke at the end of the Lagos City-Wide Crusade at the National Stadium, Lagos.

The theme of the crusade: Supernatural Encounter with God of Wonders, attracted thousands of worshippers and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

He said:  “This is not the time for criticism in the fight against corruption and reorganising things. It is the time for being patient and support what is being done. It is the time to cooperate and go along with the government.

“Corruption is bad; it is to the disadvantage of the poor people and the whole country. The fight against corruption is legitimate and right. We should do it without any witch-hunting. We should not be after anybody, but work towards stamping out corruption.

“Those of us fighting corruption must lay the example. We must ensure that we are free from that corruption, so that others will follow suit,” he said.

The cleric maintained that crusade was divinely covered by God.

“It is the grace of God. We have been doing the crusade in the past 18 days, moving from place to place. We give the glory to God and thank the people for their cooperation.

“We have worked together in unity and strength, we have not only got the unity of Deeper Life members but the support of the media, CAN and everybody.”

Kumuyi urged Nigerians to have faith in God by living a purposeful life with set goals, stressing that the people should be their brother’s keeper.

“I spoke about having a purpose, goal and faith. As we have that goal, we have the drive from within and with the grace of God, He will see us through.

“Challenges and difficulties will be there, we should not look at that, but look at the possibilities of things. The lord will get us there; we will be nation builders in the name of God.

“We should do our best for our neighbours and everyone and not just to see things on the basis of how much we can get out of it. We must embrace the spirit of sacrifice; each person should contribute to make the nation better and giant of Africa,” he said.

The General Superin-tendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor Williams Kumuyi, sees a major turnaround for the nation despite the current socio-economic challenges.

Speaking with journalists at the sidelines of the kick off of the Lagos city wide crusade organised by the church in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), the respected holiness preacher said that Nigeria will bounce back.

Responding to claims that the current administration was slow, he said: “The encouragement I want to give to everyone is that we should have hope and we should look up to God that God is able and will definitely turn things around.

“It may not take place this very minute but God is going to do wonders in our country and things are going to really turn around for the better.”

He added: “My prayer is that the mighty change, supernatural change that God has done for individuals, he will do for our country.

“God works in various ways and you see all the things happening- fight against corruption and all that- we need the wisdom, power and support of God and my prayer is that God will assist the government to really pull through until we get to the end of the tunnel. A change is coming, a change has started already.”

In his sermon titled “The wonders of supernatural change,” he called for repentance for the arrival of a new dawn.

According to the cleric: “The Lord does not condemn sinners but saves them. Sinners must boldly take a step by confessing their sins.

“It is futile to think that it is impossible to live a righteous life. God is capable of saving sinners no matter the level of sin, which they have committed.

“Every work of Satan in your life must be reversed. Bad luck has come to an end. Sorrow and reproach have come to an end.

“This is a time for supernatural change. You must leave all your sins behind. God has declared that this day salvation has come into your life. God will not reject you.”

  • Kumuyi brings transformation to Agege

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor (Dr) William Kumuyi is bringing his message of spiritual, moral, physical, material, political and economic transformation to the people of Agege in Lagos as the state-wide crusade of the Church berths at Agege on Wednesday 23 September, 2015. It is billed to take place at the Agege Stadium complex.

This crusade with the theme of “Supernatural Power of God’s Wonders” is coming on the heel of the promise of the political change made by the new political administration in Lagos state.

Clearly, since the anchor of the Christian belief is that things that are seen are made from the things not seen, there cannot be effective change unless spiritual change is first and foremost completed.

This crusade is then a task consciously taken by the man of God who understands the linkages of times and seasons in the move of God in providing transformation for His people.

There is the assurance that Agege and it environ will be turned downside up with the move of God for Jesus because wherever the spirit of God is there is liberty. Liberty has been programmed for Agege and there is the promise also that like in the days of Prophet Elijah in the Old Testament fire will come down from heaven to consume everything that God has not put in place. In another dimension, mountains will be moved, valley will be filled up and all crooked places made straight through the power of God.

.Other area where Kumuyi has promised that the mighty finger of God will do wonders is in the prosperity of the people of Agege and its neighbourhood. There will be spectacular miracles which have never been heard of or seen before in the locality of Agege.

Businesses that have been dead, all others that are ailing, many that are not doing well will receive life and flourish again. This will be boom time for Agege to replace the pall of gloom that has been over the place. It will be a greater repeat of what happened when Pastor Kumuyi brought the presence of God some years back

Pastor Kumuyi has held two of this kind of crusade before and it bears repeating that they were highly successful. The first one which was a one day-crusade just like the one coming up in September 23 was in Central College, then known as Dairy Farm College in 2004 and the second one, at the Cocoa Ground Ogba in 2009.

The Dairy Farm College Crusade was a spectacle to behold. For a crusade billed for 5pm on the day, there was already a sea of humanity flowing through the vicinity of Ogba before noon. There was an overflow of people moved by the hunger and thirst for salvation, the word and the touch of God in their lives. People were expectant that the presence of God brought by Pastor Kumuyi will make a remarkable difference in their lives.

The excitement and the pleasure of the crusade were not just in the mammoth crowd or the wonderful miracles that happened but what occurred on the second day after the programme had officially ended. It defied belief that thousands of people still trouped into the crusade venue buoyed up in faith with what transpired the previous and got miracles.

One in particular was a leper who got perfect healing in the presence of the on-lookers. The college’s securities had prevented him from entering but got in through another gate and holding onto the pulpit where the Pastor had preached and instantly, was healed from his leprosy. The celebration that followed that singular act of healing ranged through the Agege community and it brought about extra addition in the preaching of the gospel in Agege.

The second crusade held at Cocoa Ground at Ogba 2009. It was also spectacularly successful. It was a three-day-power packed and power soaked event. It witnessed explosion of the power of God and since then Agege and its environment have never been the same. It actually became a reference point for crusades in Agege.

People will always ask after then whenever the Deeper Life is holding evangelism and rallies that people will ask when the G.S will visit Agege again. Now, the G.S is set for Agege and the awakening and transformation is about to shower.

“?I want to encourage Nigerians to have hope.  We should look up to God that He is able to turn things around. It may not take place this very minute, but God is going to do wonders in our country and things are going to turn around for the better.”

In his sermon, Kumuyi assured the audience that no matter the challenges they may face, and which may appear to defy solution, there is real hope.

According to him, the greatest problem of man was sin and those who are bound by chain unrighteousness urgently need to seek God’s forgiveness.

“The Lord does not condemn sinners but saves them. Sinners must boldly take a step by confessing their sins. It is futile to think that it is impossible to live a righteous life. God is capable of saving sinners no matter the level of sin they have committed.

“Every work of Satan in your life must be reversed. Bad luck has come to an end. Sorrow and reproach have come to an end. This is a time for supernatural change. You must leave all your sins behind. God has declared that this day salvation has come into your life. God will not reject you,” he stressed.

Kumuyi added: “Salvation has come to you today. Don’t think God is going to reject you because you went to a shrine. A glorious and gracious cleansing is coming to you. You will be so clean that angel will look at you and marvel.”

One of the participants at the crusade, Ms Marvellous Archibong, testified how she regained her sight last night at the crusade having been blind since she was born 18 years ago.

Another woman testified that she was suffering from cancer but that her lump disappeared after Kumuyi prayed.

Seek face of God, Kumuyi tells Tarabans

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, on Friday urged the people of Taraba State to seek the face of God for their deliverance from insecurity.

He said that there was assurance of salvation, healing, deliverance and provisions for all those who sincerely sought the Lord.

Kumuyi said that God always opens the door to those that knock and seek Him.

“If you have Jesus, you have more than a man; this is the day of your healing, salvation and deliverance. If a sinner agrees with the Lord, he will be saved.

“If the sick person agrees with the Lord, he will be healed and if the oppressed person agrees with the Lord, he will be delivered,” he said

The crusade featured special music presentations and praise worship led by music legend, Panam Percy Paul and his team.

Among the dignitaries that attended the crusade were former Gov. Jolly Nyame and the Secretary to Taraba Government, Mr Anthony Jellason.

    Celebration

General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi has called on Nigerians to imbibe the virtue of love, care, patience as demonstrated by principal stakeholders in last presidential elections in the country. He spoke at the just concluded National Easter Retreat of the church held at Deeper Life Conference Centre, Km 42, on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos.
He said Jesus is the essence of Easter because ‘He paid the prize and sacrifice so that mankind would experience salvation which comes with peace in the heart. He noted that as the nation celebrates the Easter in one part ‘we have seen the coincidence that Easter brings as we are enjoying peace as against the reign of violence as anticipated in some quarters after the election in Nigeria.’
Kumuyi, who was represented by the Church Secretary, Pastor Jerry Asemota said:  ”We can experience peace internally, and in our nation when we embrace the sacrifice that Christ has made and key into the requirements of salvation, which include confessing our sin, forsaking them and asking God for grace to live for him”.

Kumuyi who commended the courage displayed by President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat to President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari said that the pronouncement of  President Jonathan to concede defeat is significant and would be written in the book of records not just in Nigeria but in the whole world.
He said “Nigeria has gone through election that makes so many apprehensions and many relocated because of what they felt would be the outcome of the election but the sacrifice of one man paved the way for peace which should be emulated by all of us”.
He appealed to the incoming President to continue to display the values of love, sacrifice and selfless leadership which are key elements for any leaders who hope to succeed in our world today.
Kumuyi challenged the President-elect to brace up to the challenges ahead as he would be given time ‘though success will not come overnight but we will pray and be patience and we will see results.’
He however asserted that President Jonathan has come to fulfill the assignment God has given to him which we believe he has fulfilled. Kumuyi said: “Nigeria is plagued by so many problems and we believe as express by the seriousness of the President-elect that he would tackle them headlong”.
He pledged the continuous support of the church in praying for the needed wisdom for the President-elect to handle the task ahead urging him to roll up his sleeves and be ready to work and God will help him.

  • Kumuyi: Buhari must not fail Nigerians

Kumuyi: Buhari must not fail Nigerians

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has urged Gen. Muhammadu Buhari not to fail Nigerians.

He said so much is expected of the president-elect as regards tackling corruption, poverty and insecurity.

Kumuyi said Buhari’s victory at the polls and President Goodluck Jonathan’s concession of defeat were possible through divine intervention.

He spoke at a media briefing during the church’s National Easter Retreat. He was represented by the Church Secretary Pastor Jerry Asemota.

According to him, the fact there were no bloodshed following the election as widely feared was a reason to thank God.

Kumuyi warned that Gen. Buhari should not be expected to perform miracles once he assumes office, saying Nigerians must be patient.

“We need to realise that he needs time. It’s not something that will happen overnight. We believe that as we pray and he dedicates himself to that cause, that we’ll begin to see results,” he said.

He attributed the peace experienced after the polls to prayers, saying: “God’s children were praying and today the nation is at peace with itself. Our international counterparts never imagined it would be this way.

“We wish him (Buhari) well. The nation expects so much from him. We’ll continue to pray for the incoming president so that God will grant him the wisdom to steer the country’s affairs aright.

“The church will continue to push for peace within the country,” Pastor Kumuyi.

According to Kumuyi, Nigerians cannot wait to have lasting peace and a reduction of corruption which he said had “plagued” the country.

“It is the desire of everyone that we get rid of those things that have plagued us in the past. Incidentally, the president-elect has identified corruption and insecurity as two key areas he will work on,” Pastor Kumuyi said.

He said since God knows the end from the beginning, there was no doubt that he would use Buhari for the country’s good.

He praised President Jonathan for being one of the few African leaders, who would lose an election while in government and yet congratulate his opponent, describing it as “significant”.

According to him, Jonathan’s action, which he described as a sacrifice, was worthy of commendation considering that people see election as a do-or-die affair in Nigeria.

“We have seen signs that the transition from one democratic dispensation to another will be smooth. There is no acrimony or infighting.

“For any leader who would build a nation, sacrifice and love are very important. We expect that he (Buhari) would lift this nation beyond the level we are now.

“The nation we know has been plagued by many problems. The church’s responsibility is to continue praying.

“No doubt, President Jonathan had an assignment that God wanted him to fulfill. The new president, I believe, also has a specific assignment from God.”

  • Kumuyi urges Nigerians to vote credible candidates

The Founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, has urged Nigerians to vote for credible candidates.

He prayed that there would be no violence during the elections, adding that they would be free and fair.

Pastor Kumuyi spoke yesterday at  Bori, the headquarters of Ogoni in Rivers State, when he visited the leader of the Ogoni Traditional Rulers, HRM, King G.N.K. Gininwa.

The monarch is also the chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Pastor Kumuyi, whose church is holding a one-week programme, tagged; “Glorious Day of Divine Visitation”, said his visit to Ogoni land and Rivers State would solve the people’s problems.

He said they should not be afraid of the elections because God was on the throne, adding that the visit was for a purpose.

The cleric noted that with the church programme being held in Ogoni land, the challenges of the people would be solved “as long as they accept God as their personal savour.”

He said: “The reason for the choice of Ogoni in this programme is because of my desire to be a blessing to Ogoni land. The Lord has laid it in my heart to interact with the people and the community. It is also to share the message of God, His goodness because the gospel is good news.

“Let us look at the country, look at where we want the country to be in all ramifications and then vote conscientiously for candidates we know their records, who can move the country forward. Our votes will count and I believe we  will have free and fair elections.”
