    Actress Laide Bakare has criticised her colleagues for creating content following the death of Allwell Ademola, expressing sadness at how some are handling the news.

    Bakare, in an Instagram post, noted that some colleagues and fans were creating content on social media, including TikTok, where they were playing games and collecting gifts, just hours after Ademola’s passing.

    “The way fans and colleagues are creating content with the passing of our dear sister is really sad. Anyway, God is watching everyone. Rest well, Allwell.

    “Still in shock, some of her very close pals were even still open on the TikTok app yesterday, doing tap tap busy playing games and collecting gifts. Haaaa!! Aiye le oo!!”, she wrote.

    Bakare’s comments came after Ademola’s death was announced, with many colleagues and fans paying tribute to the actress.

    Alesh Sanni had earlier shared similar sentiments, questioning the sincerity of condolences and highlighting the inconsistency in how people show support.

    As earlier reported, the 49-year-old Ademola suffered a heart attack and passed away on December 27, 2025.

    Her family has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and announced that burial arrangements will be communicated later.

    Actress Laide Bakare has sparked controversy by revealing why she introduced her 17-year-old daughter to clubbing and alcohol.

    In a recent interview with content creator Mr. Lilgaga, Bakare stated that she took pride in being the one who introduced her daughter to nightlife, anticipating that her daughter would reference her in her future memoir.

    “I took my daughter to the club for the first time at 17. And I like the fact that in her memoir, she would reference me as the person who introduced her to alcohol and clubbing,” she stated.

    The revelation has elicited mixed reactions, with many criticising Bakare for her parenting decisions.

    Some have described her actions as reckless and questioned her judgment as a mother.

    It_hafizski wrote, “Introducing a 17-year-old to alcohol and nightlife is reckless parenting, not cruise. At that age, guidance and discipline should come first, not clubbing.”

    Others have defended Bakare, stating that her approach might foster an open relationship with her daughter.

    Sturbyrich opined, “Low-key this thing normal, at least her daughter will be free to talk to her about anything. If she no carry her go club, she’ll still go by herself and might even do worse things.”

    Brainpink wrote, “Make una leave her, that’s how she wants to train her girl. Because if you dey overprotect, sometimes she will still go to the club, drink alcohol and still smoke join, and you won’t notice. But sha, small small ooo.”

    Actress Laide Bakare has denied shading colleague Biola Bayo over her recent divorce announcement.

    Laide had shared a cryptic post that some linked to Biola’s situation but she clarified that she was unaware of the news as she was busy celebrating her daughter’s graduation.

    “All of us will eat breakfast. Asiko lo ma ya to. Good morning, people,” she wrote earlier.

    Laide expressed support for Biola, referring to her as “sister,” and criticised trolls for being malicious.

    “Let us all be guarded, please. It’s still June 5th here in America—California, to be precise. I can never shade my own sister @biolabayo. My prayers are with you. I didn’t get any updates. I was busy with @simlineboss’ graduation. Trolls are evil,” she wrote.

    The United Nations International Peace and Governing Council has honoured popular Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, with the  Ambassador for Peace.

    The recognition, according to the UN council, is a testament to Bakare’s tireless efforts in promoting peace, understanding, and cooperation globally.

    Expressing her appreciation, Bakare said, “I’m deeply humbled to receive this recognition. I believe that peace is the foundation for progress and prosperity. I’ll continue to work tirelessly towards promoting understanding and cooperation among nations and communities.”

    The Nollywood actress  also emphasized the need for greater inclusion of women in politics. She believes that women’s participation is crucial for achieving true representation and progress in society.

    “Women make up a significant portion of our population, and their voices deserve to be heard. We need more women in leadership positions to bring diverse perspectives and ideas to the table.”

    Bakare, who is Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Entertainment, Arts, Culture and Tourism, promises to promote peace in more communities.

    The Ambassador for Peace Award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to fostering peace, tolerance, and mutual respect. Ms Bakare’s dedication to these ideals has earned her this distinguished honor.

    Actress Laide Bakare has responded to her colleague Eniola Badmus, following the remarks Badmus allegedly made about a photo Bakare posted online.

    Taking to Instagram, Bakare reminded Badmus of the pivotal role she played in launching her acting career. 

    She claimed she offered Badmus her first major movie role at a time when many producers avoided working with her because of her appearance.

    Expressing disappointment over the perceived betrayal, Bakare criticized Badmus sharply, even going as far as calling her an “animal” for repaying kindness with hostility.

    “eniola_badmus I gave you, first major role in your life when. No one wants to Associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity.     Prior to this, a heated exchange unfolded between both actresses at the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film “Owambe Thieves” on April 13, 2025, at Filmhouse Circle Mall, Jakande.

    The tension arose when Badmus appeared visibly upset upon noticing Bakare on the dance floor, prompting her to move away and later lash out as Bakare approached her.

    Badmus was heard saying, “Don’t film us together, we’re not friends,” in Yoruba.

    Actress Laide Bakare has been conferred with an honourary doctorate in Arts and Humanities by the American University of Peace and Governance, USA.

    Sharing the news on her Instagram, Laide said that she can now be addressed as Hon. (Dr.) Laide Bakare.

    She expressed gratitude to the university and acknowledged the support of her principal, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State.

    The honorary doctorate recognised Laide’s dedication to governance, leadership, and service to humanity.

    She dedicated the honor to her creator, friends, family, and fans worldwide.

    Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has been honored with an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the American University of Peace and Governance, USA.

    Announcing the milestone on her Instagram page, Laide disclosed that the degree would be conferred during the Doctoral Fellow Investiture Ceremony, set to take place today, November 30, at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

    The actress expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jonathan Ojadah for nominating her for the prestigious recognition, adding that she feels deeply honored and eagerly anticipates the event.

    “So the advice is not to get married early but start having a family”.

    We stopped you for contravening traffic laws, Police counter Laide Bakare’s claim of harassment

    The Lagos State Police Command has responded to actress Laide Bakare’s allegations of harassment, stating that she was stopped for violating traffic laws by driving in the BRT lane.

    According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Bakare created a scene and refused to cooperate, leading to her vehicle being taken to the LAMATA office.

    He clarified that no physical harm or intimidation was used against her, and she paid the fine for her offense before leaving with her receipt and vehicle.

    Hundeyin wrote on X: “You were stopped for contravening traffic laws by driving on the BRT lane.

    “You chose to create a scene. You chose to remain out of your vehicle when it was being taken to the LAMATA office.

    “And the officers were not going to succumb to your gimmick to hold them down at that spot.

    “You paid the N70,000 fine for your offence into the government coffers. Not a finger was laid on you. You left with the receipt and your vehicle.”

    This response contradicted Bakare’s initial claim that she was dragged out of her car and that her teenage daughter was left inside alone.
