    How broadcasters inspired my movie career – Laide Bakare

    Actress Laide Bakare has delved into how she began her career and the propelling factor that led to the sustainability of her profession. 

    In an interview, she spoke on her deciding moment in the film industry. 

    According to her, she was inspired by broadcasters adding that she had a flair for journalism. 

    “I was inspired by broadcasters, as well as the deep love I had for journalism. I initially aspired to study Mass Communication; but fate steered me towards Theatre Arts.

    “The twist, though unexpected, turned out to be serendipitous. Studying Theatre Arts not only broadened my perspective on storytelling and communication, it also ignited a fervour for the entertainment industry. 

    “The vibrant and diverse experiences I had at the University of Ibadan became the stepping stone for my professional journey. Now, as I navigate the dynamic field of the entertainment industry, I appreciate how that unconventional path has enriched my skills, offering a unique blend of creativity and communication that defines my roles in this exciting industry,” she stated. 

    Asked the factors that inspired her in the early stage of her career, Laide said: “Studying Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan fuelled my passion for the profession, but what truly shaped my journey were the numerous actors that were around me at the time.

    “Back then, filmmakers usually used my father’s house backdrop for their movies. Surrounded by that creative environment, I gained hands-on exposure to the world of filmmaking. 

    “The blend of academic knowledge and real-world experiences not only deepened my appreciation for theatre arts, but also ignited a profound interest in acting. Those early interactions with filmmakers and actors became pivotal, steering my path towards a dynamic and fulfilling exploration of the entertainment industry”.

    Seasoned actress Laide Bakare has shared a throwback video of early career days as an actress, warning trolls against being rude to her. 

    Posting the clip via her Instagram page, she questioned where her trolls were when she started her acting career 16 years ago, noting that most of them weren’t even born then.

    Laide made it known that she wouldn’t be tolerating such trolls, who she referred to as lunatics, in her comment section. 

    “Where were you when I started my Acting career at Age 16? Most of these trolls were not even born. I will not tolerate such lunat!c commenters moving forward. If you come you go collect except I did not see it,” she wrote.

    Actress Laide Bakare has debunked the claims that she is in a relationship with a mystery man, who she has been parading on social media as her lover.

    Describing herself as ‘husbandless’, she took to her Instagram page, stating the man she has been making videos with is nothing but her colleague.

    She warned fans to stop calling him her husband as he is nothing more than a colleague.

    Bakare disclosed that he played the role of her husband in multiple movies, one of which is Oko Laide.

    “Stop it, you guys. I told you the other time that I made a video about my colleague, it was on a movie set. We played husband and w!fe, lover, it was almost like 3 movies back to back. Please he isn’t my husband, the title of the movie is Oko Laide,” she said.

    Actress Laide Bakare has reacted to the subtle shade of colleague, Eniola Badmus over an outfit to her book launch.

    The Nation reported that the movie star, who has been teasing her book for almost a year, finally released it over the weekend.

    Laide held a book launch party where she was seen wearing a white outfit and an orange cape which made her a subject of mockery online.

    Taking to her Instagram page to poke fun at her, Badmus questioned which of her colleagues wore Pastor Ajidara’s outfit.

    Without mentioning names, Laide Bakare caught the sub and responded under Eniola’s comment section.

    Bakare noted how Eniola Badmus and some of her colleagues don’t celebrate her wins but are always looking out for her mistakes.

    She stated that the movie star couldn’t hide it anymore as she made her fans know that Eniola was looking for trouble.

    Bakare noted how she isn’t a troublemaker and questioned why people love to bully her a lot.

    She noted how Eniola Badmus had been her childhood friend as they grew up and studied at the University of Ibadan at the same time.

    She is however assured that God will fight her battle.

    “I had to Do this post before some of you got confused about who stated it o you can all see she started it. Hmmm, Na wa o. you will see the good ones and great Achievement, you will ignore! 

    “Have you ever congratulated me on any of my successes? CAPITAL NO. And not only you thou, including some of your colleagues in the Yoruba movie sector. Inu ni bini yin ti po ju. 

    “You guys can’t even hide it. But Always scanning for my mistakes to nail me. As gentle as I am they must surely come for me first. Because I’m not a Troublemaker honestly.

    Actress Laide Bakare has replied the numerous criticisms she earned on an outfit to her event.

    Bakare released her long-anticipated book over the weekend with a launch party where she was seen wearing a white outfit and an orange cape, making her a subject of mockery online.

    She said her outfit was a costume and she was playing along with the script. 

    While knocking her trolls, she wondered why they didn’t speak about the human hair, which she claimed is worth N1.8m.

    She told critics she was the one who wrote the script and designed it.

    Telling them to open their brains, she questioned how they could know better than her.

    She wrote: “My stage performance costume, that got them talking But wait o, shebi Na me write script and design d costume How come you now know better than the owner? 

    “Open your brain. It’s a costume for a stage play. Ori yin ma ti ku o. O which kain over sabi dey worry una self?”.

    In another post, Bakare questioned why netizens weren’t talking about her hair, which was 100 percent human hair and worth N1.8m.

    In an interview with Legit, Laide said she has now attained the life she desired for herself.

    Bakare said: “I now have the life I wanted. Something I designed for myself. I foresaw the future. I tried another relationship and that one wouldn’t let me work. I couldn’t even step out of the gate of the house.

    Popular actress, Laide Bakare, has spoken about her relationship with her colleague, Funke Akindele.

    In an interview with Legit, Laide said she was close to the Box office queen in their early career days, saying that things are not the way they used to be.

    According to her, she does not have beef with Funke Akindele, saying that the Box office queen is in the best position to explain why she refused to feature her in her movies.

I have also not featured her in any of my movies before. I invited her more than two times. There was a time when I invited her to be my MC.

    “There was another time I invited her to my first movie, we were in UNILAG then. She packed two different boxes of costumes, and as we were about to get onto the bus, I think she got a call. We spoke about it and she felt it was best she didn’t follow us. For me, it was weird. I started seeing her as someone who knows what she wants. She has been able to build herself and it works with her.”

    Actress Laide Bakare has reunited with her long-time colleague and friend, Eniola Badmus, in Abuja.

    The two movie stars, who are presently in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), hooked up at an event and took a photo together.

    Laide referred to Eniola as her ‘once upon a time’ friend and shared their pictures on her Instagram page.
