Music producer Dr. Roy has revealed that Mercy Chinwo, a gospel singer, was not aware of the ill-treatment he experienced while working for a record label boss, Ezekiel ThankGod aka EeZee Tee.

In a recent interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, hosted by media personality Nedu Ani and others, Dr. Roy explained that he used to work for EeZee Concept Records, but he left the label due to maltreatment from the boss.

Dr. Roy also accused EeZee Tee of withholding his financial gains, even after producing hit tracks like ‘Excess Love’ for Mercy Chinwo, who was signed under the label seven years ago.

He said: “For the onset, Mercy did not know what was happening, I don’t know what made Mercy leave but I won’t be surprised if what happened to me also happened to Mercy Chinwo too.

“For Mercy’s sake, I don’t know how he (EeZee Tee) has painted me before her so I didn’t let her know the maltreatment.”

Recall that the music producer also released a video on his Instagram clarifying what he said on the podcast.

He stated: “I deeply respect her talent and character. My remarks were aimed at the record label owner I worked for. Mercy Chinwo helped me when my father had a stroke, she helped me when he died.”

Dr. Roy denied the allegations that Mercy Chinwo refused to assist him at any point.

Mercy Chinwo’s music producer Dr Roy has cleared the air over a controversial interview that dented the image of the gospel singer.

He clarified that he did not call her out in a viral clip circulating on social media.

Dr Roy shared his clarification on his Instagram story, to clear up any confusion and set the record straight.

He said that he was not talking about the singer but another producer called Eezee Tee.

This comes after the preview of his interview with The Honest Bunch Podcast was released online.

In said interview he spoke on his experience working with Chinwo and the producer Eezee Tee, highlighting the rigorous schedule.

“Mercy Chinwo and I used to sleep at 5 am and wake up at 7 am to start working till 5, back to back. I was hoping that I would be getting millions working on Mercy’s project and I was happy that all my hustle was paying off because of the work I put in,” Dr Roy said in the preview.

He also emotionally recounted his father’s battle with stroke: “Do you know what it means to put in work in the hopes that everybody in your family will be okay? My father had a stroke so I called her to let her know and asked for assistance and she said I shouldn’t worry and he would be fine,” he said.

He added: “I’m not calling out Mercy Chinwo. The person I’m calling out is EezeeTee who owns Easy Concepts. As I talk to you now Mercy and I are suffering the same thing. Imagine, it’s the same person I’m suffering with that is helping me.”

He also debunked claims that Mercy Chinwo abandoned him when his father was sick: “Mercy helped me when my father had a stroke and also helped me when he died.”
