Ayobami told the court that although the wound was initially a small cut on his hand, he said on getting home and at midnight, the affected hand had become swollen.

The witness said efforts were made to put a call through to MohBad’s nurse, to no avail.

He said one of their team members then suggested that he had a nurse, who was eventually called to administer injection on him.

Insisting that MohBad was very fine before the nurse came, he said the late singer had slept before he was given the injection.

MohBad’s dad insists on DNA test for grandson

    •  By MUJEEB OYEDEJI

Joseph Aloba, father of the late rapper, Ilerioluwa Promise  Oladimeji Aloba aka MohBad, has denied a DNA test has been carried out on six-month Liam left behind by the singer.

He said media reports in the regard were false and misleading.

In a no hold barred interview at his Oke Eletu residence in Lagos, the gospel singer-cum-furniture maker said the reports must have been sponsored by mischievous people to distract attention from  the major issues at hand .

“Nobody has done any DNA on Liam my grandson. We all woke up recently  to see the widely circulated rumour  in the media. I want everyone to disregard it. It is simply the handiwork of mischievous individuals to distract the major issue on ground and I wouldn’t close my eyes for anyone to create wrong impression.

“Mohbad died as Aloba, he lived as Aloba; whatever will make his name be alive in positive light will always be embraced by me.

“I know him because we were very close and I believe he will be happy where ever he is that his son remains his son. He will be sad if another person’s child is given to him too. This is the simple arithmetic,” he stated.

Continuing, MohBad’s father said the late singer never introduced any child to him, except Liam who is at the centre of a paternity controversy.

According to him: “If there is controversy from left and right, emotions should be put asides to look out for the truth.

“The uproar from the global world on my  grandson’s paternity and the  need to set the  records straight is the reason for wanting the DNA done so that there won’t be any chaos in the future.

“Postponing the DNA is like sitting on the keg of a gunpowder. We want peace and truth.

“I keep saying that Liam is the only grandson introduced to me by Mohbad and I showed my grandson love needed from loving grandpa.

In fact , three days before his untimely death, I was in his home. The little child sat on my leg as Mohbad and I had lunch together.

“After the lunch , Mohbad used his phone camera to snap me and the Baby . It’s a pity fate is playing bad game on me.

” You can see I love him as my grandson but now that tongues are wagging and the need to avert future chaos, as well as the need to put all behind by doing the DNA when needed , I believe we must do it.

” If he is my grandson, I will be more than happy because in him I will have a new Mohbad , my late  son , my gist partner and brother.

“And if he is not of my son’s blood, I will know that God will find a better way to console me.

“Any DNA to be conducted won’t be that of mere rumour  or social media affair. My representatives and lawyer will be there.

“We will do it at least in three different places and compare the notes to fathom the whole  truth out. We love children where I come from but we say no to bastards because of future occurrences,” Aloba stressed.

The Olukere of Ikere , Oba Ganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin, who paid his subject a condolence visit, said that it was a pity a  promising and talented artiste died like that . But in everything as a Christian, there is always a way to be thankful to God.

The monarch said: “Ikere Ekiti mourns him, like wise the whole state  and the entire world. Though I never got to know he sang some of the songs I listened to in the radio , I was amazed to know the truth after his death .

“Yes , his death is painful and untimely but God made  him to be  larger than life in death. We mourn him, we pray for the heart to bear the loss amongst his family and admirers. Coming here is to showcase that in Ekiti state , we share both joy and sadness together in our culture ”

Going further, the Olukere of Ikere, who was accompanied by some of his chiefs, supported moves by  Aloba to have the DNA of his grandson done.

” I am in support of the move by the Aloba family to have Liam’s DNA done. It’s not a big deal and nothing is unusual about it. The mother of the child should even be proud and eager to do so putting in mind what has been said in the media on the particular issue.

“I will be ready to support Mr

Aloba in any capacity needed. Truly , we don’t glorify bastards in Ikere Ekiti and in Ekiti state in general. But, the onus is to differentiate the grain from the shaft.

“If the DNA confirmed that the boy is of Mohbad, we will roll out drums to wellcome him  home  in a grand style. And if it’s not of Mohbad, it’s not the end of the world. At least , the real father will be able to embrace his son early on in life.

” It’s a pity that we at home is getting to know of the Ekiti blood in Mohbad, we will use this opportunity to bring the father and siblings closer home. God Almighty will console the family, ” Obasoyin added.

Why MohBad is appearing to some Nigerians – Father

Joseph Aloba, the father of late rapper, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba aka MohBad has explained why the deceased spirit is unsettled and some Nigerians keep seeing visions of the late singer.

Aloba lamented the delay in the release of the deceased’s autopsy result, stating that he is resurfacing here and there because he is yet to be buried.

MohBad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day.

His body was, however, exhumed for autopsy to aid the investigation into the cause of his death, after which his body was deposited in a morgue.

Speaking in a recent interview with Stams TV, the late rapper’s father said some people are claiming that Mohbad was appearing to them because his body had not been buried.

He said he would reach out to the police for the body to be released to him so that the burial can be done.

Aloba said: “This autopsy is taking time. I wasn’t aware it’ll take this much time, because Mohbad’s corpse shouldn’t be suffering. But we are not more powerful than the government since Nigerians said that is what they want. I’ll call the senior police officer after this interview and ask if they’ve taken all they need from Mohbad so the burial can be done.

“A lot of people are saying he’s appearing to them, and it’s because he hasn’t been buried. We have to make preparations on how he’ll be buried as soon as possible.”

  • MohBad son’s DNA test must be done in my presence – Father

MohBad son’s DNA test must be done in my presence – Father

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba aka MohBad, has insisted the DNA of the deceased’s son, Liam, must be done in his presence.

Recall that the need for a DNA test to determine the genuine paternity of the late singer’s kid has sparked heated controversy among Nigerians.

MohBad’s father emphasised the importance of a DNA test for his grandson in a recent interview with Stams TV, citing it as a matter of national concern.

He insisted that he must be physically present or appoint a representative on his behalf during the DNA test.

He also proposed that the test be conducted at two different hospitals to ensure the accuracy of the results.

Aloba said: “Concerning the DNA test, it’s a must they do it. Nigerians are demanding for it. I heard rumours that they did it but no matter what, I’m Mohbad’s father so I’ll give consent to the DNA test or send anyone who can represent me during the test if I’m not there to know how they’ll do it. And even when they want to do it, it should be done in two different places so we can be very sure and know the truth.

“Also, where I am from in Ikere Ekiti, even Olu Ikere just left my side now after paying me a visit. We don’t accept bastards where I’m from, but it will be a thing of joy for me if this child is Mohbad’s because this is the only child he said he left for me. Three days before his death, I was with him, he even served me food and he put Liam on my hands and he was taking pictures.

“So I’ll be very happy if Liam is Mohbad’s son because I love the child. But if it turns out that Liam is not his son, it won’t be good if we don’t find out now because of the future so that even late MohBad shouldn’t be blaming me that I accepted something like this. So the DNA is very necessary.”
