Nathaniel Bassey warns married men, young women against extramarital affairs

Popular gospel artiste and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has cautioned married men involved in extramarital relationships with young women, as well as women who knowingly engage in such affairs, warning that there would be severe consequences.

In a video that has gone viral, Bassey addressed a congregation, stressing that married men who lead young women astray would face divine judgment and public disgrace.

He also warned that shame would be unavoidable, adding that such actions could be exposed publicly, including on social media.

“You are a married man, and you go about deceiving young girls, leading them on. Some even go as far as sleeping with them. I place a demand on the grace of God upon my life. If you try it this year, you won’t survive.

“Your shame will not be forgotten; it will be on social media. You take a lady to a hotel, you lie, meanwhile you are married; you will not come out alive from that hotel,” Bassey said.

The gospel singer also targeted young women who pursue relationships with married men, attributing their actions to greed and a desire for material possessions.

He cautioned that such behaviour will lead to severe repercussions.

“If you like, take what I am saying jokingly. You too are a lady, if you know in your heart that the man is married, but because of greed, attention, Brazilian wigs, hair, or a Louis Vuitton bag, if you try it, you won’t survive it,” he warned.

Nathaniel Bassey condemns Kwara, Kebbi attacks

Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has reacted to the recent unrest in Kwara and Kebbi states, condemning the alleged attacks on Christians and calling for divine judgment on those responsible.

His statement comes after a disturbing attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State, where suspected bandits attacked worshippers during a live-streamed service.

Bassey emphasised that Nigeria is a great nation and urged citizens to pray for courage and willpower for the government, armed forces, and stakeholders to tackle these evils.

Bassey wrote on X, “I believe with all my heart that this is the time and season for the enemies of this nation to be judged once and for all – terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and all who fund, sponsor, and support them. If we miss this season, we may never get it again.

“Nigeria, in my opinion, is one of the greatest nations on earth. And this is also why there is such contention against the soul of this nation”.

He referenced Deuteronomy 7, highlighting the need to conquer enemies and fulfill Nigeria’s prophetic destiny.

“It’s a new season for NIGERIA, and just like in Deuteronomy 7, there are enemies we have to conquer! And as long as we ignore and pretend about these evils, the destiny of this nation will only remain a wish. NIGERIA, it is time! These killers, kidnappers, bandits, and the architects of these evil systems and structures, as well as their sympathizers, must be judged! We pray for will and courage for the government, the armed forces, the intelligence community, and every stakeholder (including the citizens), like never before, to arise with one voice.

“But like Mordecai said to Esther, if you remain silent, help will come from another source. So it shall be for Nigeria. Every one or group of persons who have determined that Nigeria will not rest, may their end come now! In Jesus’ name.

“Peace shall reign in Nigeria. Nigeria shall prosper and fulfil her prophetic destiny. In Jesus’ name. amen. God bless Nigeria!”

The attack in Kwara is just one of many violent incidents in the region, with 25 students recently abducted from a girls’ boarding school in Kebbi State.

Other Nigerian celebrities, including Funke Akindele and Falz, have also condemned the attacks, calling for urgent action to address the growing insecurity in the country.

“Whatever God is set to do that night will touch every area of life. We started the year with God; we must end it with Him,” he said.

Also speaking, Pastor Scholars Olapade, Senior Pastor of Dominion City Lagos, assured that extensive logistical arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees.

Why I won’t monetise YouTube page for Hallelujah Challenge – Nathaniel Bassey

Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has reiterated his refusal to monetise the official YouTube channel for the Hallelujah Challenge, an online prayer movement he launched in 2017.

Speaking during a live session, Bassey warned participants that fraudulent channels are illegally cloning the official stream from NathanielBasseymain, the only verified page to siphon viewers and generate ad revenue.

“There are people who join Hallelujah Challenge from fake pages on YouTube. Let me tell you why. Because of my personal concentration of not monetising ‘Hallelujah Challenge’, some criminals, crooks, and scams clone and pick the feed from our page to air it just to make money,” he said.

The Hallelujah Challenge convenes twice annually, featuring prominent gospel artists and clergy in extended worship and prayer sessions that attract global participation.

Bassey acknowledged the criticism he faces on both sides on accusations of profiteering if he enables monetisation, and charges of pride when he does not.

“They have dragged me all you can. When you monetise, they would say you are doing ministry for money. When you do not they would say you are trying to be proud. We will not monetise it. I am not led to do it. God will bless us some other ways,” he added.

He urged viewers to verify the channel name and avoid unofficial links, emphasising that the initiative remains a free spiritual offering, not a commercial enterprise.

“So, if you find out as you are watching this now and you are not on NathanielBasseymain. That is the official YouTube page. Any other page is a scam. Just trying to merchandise the grace of God”, he said.

Organisers have urged participants to report suspicious pages and stick strictly to the official handle.

He added: “A few years ago, she was in the hospital with an ectopic pregnancy. I would leave, lead praise and worship online, then return to the hospital and the nurses attending to her would tell me, ‘It was powerful tonight.’ Not one, not two not three or four pregnancies, but five.

“So when people say, ‘Where is God?’ I say, I understand. God is faithful. One of the words He gave us was, ‘Don’t give up on God.”
