  • NiMET predicts rains, thunderstorms for Sunday

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has predicted thunderstorm activities, rains over the North East and coastal region, with cloudy morning over most parts of the country for Sunday.

    The NiMET`s “Weather Outlook“ on Saturday in Abuja predicted cloudy conditions over Central States with chances of thunderstorms in the morning.

    The agency predicted thunderstorms over Abuja, Plateau, Kaduna, Benue, Yola, Jalingo and Mambilla plateau axis later in the day with day and night temperatures of 25 to 32 degree Celsius and 17 to 25 degree Celsius.

    According to NiMET, cloudy conditions are anticipated over Northern States with chances of thunderstorm over Nguru, Damaturu, Bauchi, Kano and Katsina in the morning hours.

    It further predicted thunderstorms over Bauchi, Kano, Katsina and Nguru while other parts will be in partly cloudy condition later in the day.

    NiMET predicted day and night temperatures for the region as 29 to 32 degree Celsius and 22 to 25 degree Celsius respectively.

    “For Southern States, cloudy morning is anticipated with chances of rains over the coastal region.

    “Moderate rains are anticipated over the entire region in the afternoon/evening hours with day and night temperatures of 27 to 32 degree Celsius and 20 to 23 degree Celsius, respectively,“ NiMET predicted.

  • NiMET predicts thunderstorms over most parts of Nigeria for Saturday

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has predicted thunderstorm activities over most part of the country on Saturday

    The agency`s “ Weather Outlook“ on Friday in Abuja predicted cloudy conditions  over central states with chances of thunderstorm over Benue and Taraba states in the morning.

    It further predicted thunderstorms over Abuja, Plateau, Kaduna and Nassarawa axis later in the day with day and night temperatures of 25 to 32 degree Celsius and 18  to 24 degree Celsius.

    According to NiMET, Northern states will be partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with chances of thunderstorm activities over Gusau, Sokoto and Katsina in the morning hours.

    The agency predicted chances of thunderstorms over Maiduguri and Southern Kano later in the day with day and night temperatures of 32 to 35 degree Celsius and 22 to 24 degree Celsius respectively.

    “ For Southern states, cloudy morning is anticipated with chances of rains over Imo State, Lagos and Calabar.

    “Thunderstorms/rains are anticipated over the entire region in the afternoon/evening hours with day and night temperature of 28 to 32 degree Celsius and 21 to  23 degree Celsius respectively,” NiMET predicted.

  • Cloudy, rainy weather to prevail on Tuesday – NiMet

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions with prospects of widespread thunderstorm and rainfall activities over most parts of the country on Tuesday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Monday in Abuja, predicted cloudy morning over the central states with thunderstorms over Abuja, Ilorin and Kaduna with day and night temperatures of 27 to 36 and 18 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted that further into the day, cloudy conditions were expected to prevail over the region with prospects of thunderstorms over Yola, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau axis.

    The agency predicted that Northern states would experience morning thunderstorms over Sokoto, Yelwa, Gusau, and Kano, and cloudy conditions with day and night temperatures of 35 to 40 and 25 to 28 degrees Celsius.

    According to NiMet, southern states will experience cloudy conditions over the South-East inland with moderate rains over the western part of the coastal belts and slight rains over the eastern parts in the morning.

    “Thunderstorms are also expected over places like Ibadan, Abeokuta, Shaki, Osogbo and Ijebu-Ode axis.

    “Later in the day, there are chances of moderate rains in the afternoon into the evening hours with day and night temperatures of 31 to 34 and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius.

    “With continued influx of moisture into the country, there are more prospects of thunderstorms and rainfall activities over the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted cloudy weather conditions with prospects of widespread thunderstorm over most parts of the country on Tuesday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Monday in Abuja, predicted partly cloudy conditions over the Central states with thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna and Lokoja in the morning.

    It also predicted thunderstorms over Yola, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Jos, Abuja, Minna and Ilorin later in the day with day and night temperatures of 32 to 35 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    The agency predicted that Northern States would experience partly cloudy morning and thunderstorms over Yelwa in the afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 39 to 44 and 25 to 29 degrees Celsius.

    According to NiMet, Southern States will experience cloudy morning, giving rise to widespread thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 32 to 35 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    “Widespread thunderstorm activities are anticipated over the entire region in the afternoon into evening hours with day and night temperatures of 32 to 36 and 23 to 25 degrees Celsius.

    “The Northern states are likely to experience few patches of clouds, with prospects of cloudy conditions likely to give rise to thunderstorms around the central states.

    “There are prospects of widespread thunderstorms dominating the Southern parts of the country in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

  • NiMet predicts cloudy, rainy weather for Friday

    Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy and rainy weather conditions with prospects of widespread thunderstorms over most parts of the country for Friday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Thursday, in Abuja, predicted cloudy condition over the central states with possibilities of thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna, Ilorin and Kaduna in the morning.

    It also predicted more chances of thunderstorms over most places in the region later in the day with day and night temperatures of 34 to 36 and 18 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    The agency predicted that northern states would experience partly cloudy conditions and thunderstorm over Yelwa axis in the morning with day and night temperatures of 38 to 40 and 25 to 28 degrees Celsius.

    According to NiMet, southern states will experience cloudy conditions with few chances of rains over Yenegoa, Eket and Calabar in the morning hours.

    “Widespread thunderstorms are expected over this region in the afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures of 33 to 35 and 23 to 25 degrees celsius.

    “Partly cloudy conditions are likely over the northern parts of the country.

    “However, there are possibilities of widespread thunderstorms and rains over parts of the central and southern states in the next 72 hours,” NiMet predicted.

  • NiMet predicts cloudy, sunny atmosphere for Sunday

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted cloudy to partly cloudy and sunny weather conditions with widespread thunderstorms over most parts of the country on Sunday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Saturday, in Abuja, predicted partly cloudy to cloudy morning over the central states with day and night temperatures of 32 to 41 and 20 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted possibilities of thunderstorms over Lafia, Makurdi, Abuja, Lokoja, southern Kaduna and Jos axis as the day progresses.

    The agency predicted that Northern States would experience morning sunny conditions and partly cloudy to sunny afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 41 to 43 and 21 to 29 degrees Celsius.

    According to the report, Southern States will witness cloudy morning and thunderstorm over Ijebu with widespread thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening period.

    It said the temperatures of both day and night would hover between 33 and 36 and between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “Sunny to partly cloudy conditions are to prevail over the northern parts of the country.

    “However, there are possibilities of thunderstorms over the central cities and widespread thunderstorms activities over some parts of the southern states in the next 72 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted cloudy to partly cloudy, sunny weather and localized thunderstorms over most parts of the country on Monday, with chances of rainfall over the southern part.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Sunday, in Abuja, predicted partly cloudy morning over the central states with day and night temperatures of 30 to 35 and 20 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted widespread thunderstorm activities over the entire region as the day progresses.

    The agency predicted that northern states would experience sunny morning with day and night temperatures of 35 to 42 and 21 to 30 degrees Celsius.

    It further predicted partly cloudy to sunny conditions with prospects of thundery activities over Maiduguri and thunderstorms over Yola and Gombe axis later in the day.

    According to NiMet, southern states will experience cloudy morning with chances of rainfall activities over Lagos and Abeokuta axis.

    “Widespread thunderstorm activities are anticipated over the entire region in the afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 32 to 35 and 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    “The influx of moisture into the country is consistent and so there are chances of thunderstorm activities in the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted partly cloudy to cloudy and sunny weather conditions with localised thunderstorms over most parts of the country on Wednesday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Tuesday, in Abuja, predicted partly cloudy to cloudy morning over the Central States with prospect of isolated morning thunderstorms over Benue, Taraba and Mambilla Plateau axis.

    It also predicted thunderstorms over places like Kaduna, Bida, Minna, Kwara and Bauchi, Lokoja, Abuja and Markudi in the afternoon and evening with day and night temperature of 33 to 40 and 23 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    The agency predicted that Northern States would experience partly cloudy to sunny conditions with haziness over Maiduguri during the morning hours.

    It further predicted thundery activities over Kano, Katsina, Yelwa, Zamfara, Southern Borno and Zaria during the day with day and night temperatures of 37 to 43 and 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    According to NiMet, Southern States will experience partly cloudy to cloudy morning hours with chances of localised thunderstorm over Eket Calabar, Port Harcourt and Uyo axis.

    “There are prospects of scattered thunderstorm activities over this region during the afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures of 30 to 37 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius.

    “The influx of moisture into the country is consistent with chances of thunderstorm activities in the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Sunday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with day and night temperatures of 35 to 37 and 19 to 23 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted chances of localised thundery activities over Mambilla plateau, Lokoja, Makurdi, Jalingo and Bida in the afternoon and evening period.

    The agency also predicted that Northern States would experience sunny and hazy conditions with day and night temperatures of 35 to 39 and 19 to 20 degrees Celsius.

    According to NiMet, Southern States will experience cloudy morning and localised thunderstorms over Benin, Calabar, Warri and Port Harcourt with day and night temperatures of 34 to 37 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.

    “Sunny conditions are expected to prevail over the north while partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over the central states.

    “There are chances of localised thunderstorms activities over the southern part of the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy and sunny weather conditions with thundery activities over most parts of the country on Friday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook released on Thursday, in Abuja, predicted scattered thunderstorms and moderate rains over the western part of the central region with day and night temperatures of 28 to 35 and 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted partly cloudy to cloudy condition with chances of localized thunderstorms over Lafia, Lokoja, Taraba, Benue, Mambilla Plateau and Adamawa axis in the afternoon and evening hours.

    The agency predicted that northern states would experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with chances of morning thundery activities over Katsina, Kano, Zamfara, Zaria and Bauchi axis.

    It further predicted partly cloudy to sunny conditions over the region in the afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 30 to 36 and 17 to 23 degrees Celsius.

    According to NiMet, southern states will experience localised thunderstorms in the morning with cloudy morning over south-west inland.

    “Scattered thunderstorms are probable over the entire southern region in the afternoon and evening period, with day and night temperatures of 29 to 33 and 21 to 28 degrees Celsius.

    “There are possibilities of rainfall activities over the south, central and few places around the northern states in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
