    Omah Lay earned his first Grammy nomination for his collab with Davido “With You” and the smash hit was just announced as Nigeria’s most streamed song by Spotify.

    Afrobeats singer Omah Lay has expressed mixed feelings about his first-ever Grammy nomination, celebrating the milestone while downplaying the significance of awards in his career.

    The Afrobeats star secured the nod for his collaboration with Davido on the track “With You,” which is up for Best African Music Performance at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

    In an Instagram post on his fans platform, Omah Lay shared his thrill over the recognition but emphasised that accolades hold little personal value.

    He redirected his enthusiasm toward his collaborator, calling Davido his most loyal supporter during tough times and expressing a strong desire for the artist to finally claim the win.

    “I’m excited about this Grammy nomination haha but fr fr I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah but I really want it for OBO! he is the realest friend I’ve had in while, he stood by during my hardest times,” Omah Lay wrote.

    Davido, who has yet to take home a Grammy despite four prior nominations, including two in the Best African Music Performance category since its debut in 2023, remains a dominant force in the genre.

    The 2026 Grammy ceremony is set for February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

    Afrobeats singer Omah Lay has revealed he is not prepared to become a father but considers himself at peace in a state of emotional and spiritual elevation.

    The Rivers-born artist, born Stanley Omah Didia, shared the reflections in a series of cryptic Snapchat posts.

    He wrote: “I’m very much not ready to be a baby daddy but I’m their father, their father in the highest, at peace in Heaven blowing clean Canada”.

    He described a sense of detachment from life’s turbulence, stating that while events unfold around him, they rarely penetrate his inner calm.

    “Everything happens but nothing ever happens to me. I don’t expect you to understand but…”, he added.

    Omah Lay also admitted to missing a Yoruba woman he once had feelings for, noting that attraction often fades when relationships become overwhelming.

    Currently without a romantic partner, the Holy Ghost singer said love and dating have lost their appeal.

    “I miss my Yoruba girl bad, I like them but when e too plenty e Dey turn me off. Yeah I got no girls. it has become a boring activity of late,” he concluded.

    Afrobeats singer Stanley Omah Didia popularly known as Omah Lay, has alarmed fans with a Snapchat rant revealing a resurgence of his depression, triggered by frustrations with recording contract and music industry dealings.

    He expressed regret over past decisions, slamming contracts, labels, the music business, his younger self and his manager.

    He wrote: “F*k contacts. Fk labels. Fk the music business. Fk my younger self. F*k my manager. God please, I’m losing my mind again”.

    This follows a July 2025 split with former manager Awoniyi, which Awoniyi called amicable, though Omah Lay’s label mate, Kaestyle, claimed Awoniyi was fired.

    Omah Lay has previously been candid about his mental health struggles.

    His debut album, Boy Alone, released July 15, 2022, reflected his battle with depression.

    In 2022, he disclosed that an inappropriate relationship with his therapist worsened his emotional state.

    Known for his “Afro-depression” style, his music connects deeply with fans, and his latest outburst has sparked both concern and speculation about new music.

    Afrobeats star Davido said his hit song “With You,” featuring Omah Lay, almost didn’t make it to his album “5ive”.

    In a recent interview on American News Television ABC, Davido revealed that he considered removing the track from the album, which would have been a huge mistake since it became the biggest hit from the project and one of the biggest Afrobeats records of 2025.

    “It almost didn’t make the album… Every time I remember I almost took it off the album, my heart starts beating.

    “Shout out to Omah Lay. I am glad we were able to collaborate on a true African classic,” the multi-award-winning superstar stated.

    The song’s success has proven to be a wise decision, and Davido has praised Omah Lay, calling their collaboration a “true African classic”.

    The song has been a highlight of Davido’s ongoing 5 Alive tour, with a memorable performance at the Scotia Bank Arena in Canada drawing a rousing response from the audience.

    The tour has been a huge success, with Davido recently celebrating the sell-out of 12 venues across North America.

    To mark the milestone, Davido and his team cut a celebratory cake after his concert at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland, USA.

    Meanwhile, another user, Naughti Awol, appreciated the singer’s honesty but noted that beauty standards vary. “Not every man likes big bodies. I’m slim and proud of it,” she said.
