    Artists need to learn deep music from Omah Lay – Ajebo Hustlers

    Musical duo Ajebo Hustlers hailed Omah Lay lyrical prowess as he urged other artists to learn from him.

    According to the duo, many Nigerian artists tend to lack perspective in their music, believing that Omah Lay could serve as an excellent example for them to follow.

    On their X handle, Ajebo Hustlers wrote: “Y’all need to learn how to make great music with depth!! Learn from Omah!! Ask yourself. What would Omah say if he hopped on this record!!! Cause y’all lack perspective!! Y’all absolutely lack what to talk about and that sh!t boring as hell!!”

    They, however, admitted that some talented artists are “dumbing down” their creativity to appeal to fans because they love mediocrity.

    Afrobeats star Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay is scheduled to perform at the 2024 Forbes under 30 Africa summit from May 5th-8th in Gaborone, Botswana.

    The organisers announced the new development on their Instagram page.

    Forbes acknowledged the singer as a significant figure in the Afrobeat scene.

    He was also praised for his ability to deliver a range of emotion and the beauty of his voice.

    Sensational singer, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay surprised many by declining to invite a lady on stage during his recent performance.

    Omah Lay recently had a live performance in Berlin, Germany where he refused to pick a lady to dance with him on stage who he thinks might have a boyfriend.

    The Nation reported that social media was set abuzz after the 26-year-old singer, during his show in the UK, had an erotic dance behind the veil with a lady, who came with her boyfriend.

    The crowd busted into laughter when the singer suggested he should pick a male to dance with instead.

    The singer said: “Normally, I was supposed to pick a girl from the crowd but No, are you with your boyfriend? I don’t want trouble…Maybe I should pick a boy this time, I should pick the boyfriend instead yeah”

    However, netizens have reacted to the artist’s hilarious opinion, with the majority claiming the Afrobeats singer was being careful by asking for permission.

    Omah Lay stated that he is unsure of what he is doing differently that distinguishes him from his contemporaries and everyone else, but he is confident that he is being himself when creating his songs.

    He said: “I feel like I wouldn’t have been here if it weren’t for the previous generation, Burna, Wiz, Davido and Olamide they are the reasons why I am here right now and I am doing it like this. Yeah, I can’t say for sure what exactly it is that I am doing differently; I’m just doing me and it is what it is.”

    Afrobeats singer, Omah Lay, extended a shout-out to a female fan named Fafa with whom he danced onstage during a performance on the European leg of his ‘Boy Alone Tour’ at the Eventim Apollo in London on Tuesday, February 20.

    Recall that Omah Lay stirred up controversy after he invited a female fan reportedly attending the concert with her boyfriend to join him on stage during the rendition of his song ‘Bend You.’

    Online videos showing the silhouettes of the duo, shared by concert attendees, sparked outrage, with many criticizing their actions.

    Despite facing heavy backlash, Omah Lay reached out to the fan, expressing affection for her.

    In a circulating video on social media, British-Nigerian media personality Shopsydoo encouraged Omah Lay to shout out to the fan, whom he identified as Fafa.

    The singer obliged.

    Omah Lay, the Afrobeats sensation also known as Stanley Omah Didia, expressed his belief that the world would shake if the Super Eagles of Nigeria emerged victorious in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

    The ‘Soso’ crooner shared this sentiment during a conversation with West Ham defender Kurt Zouma, a clip of which was shared on the club’s social media page on Saturday.

    Singer Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has responded to talks from fans and internet users who tagged his music as “Afro-depression.”

    Speaking in a recent interview with The Beat FM, London, United Kingdom, the singer said he doesn’t care about whatever tag his music is given as long as fans are enjoying it.

    He added that he would never argue with the opinions of fans.

    Omah Lay said: “I just make my music how I want to make my music. I try as much as possible to stay away from titles and everything the world is trying to put on you. Because as my guy would always say, ‘When the smokes clear, then you see clearly.

    “So when you identify with those things [titles and tags] it just… I just make my music, I don’t care what anybody wants to tag it to enjoy it as long as you enjoy the music. If you feel like it’s Afro-depression, I am okay with that as long as you enjoy the music. Some other people would dance to it.

    “It’s art. That’s what I make and I just leave the world to enjoy how they want to enjoy it. The fans have their own opinions, I would never argue with that. If that’s how they enjoy it, that’s how they enjoy it.”

    Afrobeats sensation, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has recounted his ordeal in Ugandan prison.

    The Nation reported that Omah Lay and Tems were arrested, charged to court and detained in prison in Uganda for making an appearance at a concert held in the country at Speke Resort, Kampala, despite COVID-19 social distancing regulations.

    Speaking in a recent interview with The Beat FM, London, United Kingdom, Omah Lay said looking back at the incident, it was an “amazing time” for him though “it looked rough” then.

    According to him, his ordeal in Uganda had to happen for him to move to the next level musically.

    He said: “My ordeal in Ugandan prison was an amazing time for me. Although it was rough at the moment now looking back at the whole thing, it had to happen. It gave me the relationship I have with Tems and her manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi today. Muyiwa was in the same cell with me.

    “We were in Uganda for a show during the pandemic. We had paperwork to perform but for some reason, we got arrested after performing. And we are sent to jail. We were in jail for two days.

    “It was just a very horrible experience. I wouldn’t want anybody to go through that. They were going to cut my hair, I wore a prison uniform. They were so close to cutting my hair but the person who was in charge of the prison was a fan of my music. He got us a nice spot in jail and took care of us”.
