    I’d be one of the leaders of new Afrobeats, says Omah Lay

    Sensational singer, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has said one of his agendas for 2024 will be to be a part of the leaders of the new generation of Afrobeats artists.

    The ‘Soso’ crooner said he has created a “new sound” which he hopes to popularise this year.

    Speaking in a recent interview with The Beat FM, London, United Kingdom, Omah Lay said his latest single, ‘Holy Ghost’, epitomises the sound innovation he is introducing to Afrobeats.

    He said: “I have started a new sound. I feel like the sound people identify as Afrobeats is going to change in 2024/2025, in the future. And I’m going to be one of the leaders of the new sound.

    “I have started a new sound of Afrobeats and you’re going to hear more of that in 2024. ‘Holy Ghost’ is one of them. And I’m putting out an album. The album is going to consist of all of these new vibes.”

    Speaking in a recent interview with The Beat FM, London, United Kingdom, Omah Lay explained that he wants to remain single for some time to focus on his career.

    The ‘Soso’ crooner said he is proud of all the decisions he made as a growing child aside from the fact that he dated a girl called Bright.

    Omah Lay spoke in a recent interview with BBC Radio Capital Xtra, London, United Kingdom.

    He said: “What my present self will tell myself ten years ago, I will say, ‘I’m proud of you, bro. I’m proud of all the decisions you’re making right now. I’m proud of how hard you’re working right now because I know this whole thing didn’t start now.’

    “It started a long time ago. I am 26, I started hustling when I was about 13. Yeah, I will say, ‘I’m proud of you. I’m proud of all the decisions you’ve made. Just keep doing it.’ I don’t think there is anything that I would have changed. Oh! I think one particular babe, her name is Bright. I would’ve dodged that babe. But it’s fine.”

    Celebrity singer Omah Lay, has opened up on how he almost converted to Islam despite growing up in the church.

    He said he doesn’t care about religion anymore but believes in the existence of God.

    Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Wunmi Bello, Omah Lay said: “As soon as I made money, I just switched; I just believed in God and became more human than religious. I don’t just enjoy religion anymore.

    “I grew up in a Christian home. I spent a lot of time in church. And at some point, I was going to convert to Islam. But now I’m at the point where it’s just me and God. Not religion. Because I really don’t know anything about religion. That’s the problem. These holy books and what everybody is saying, I know it sounds true but these are just books that I can not find evidence that this was written by God or his servants.

    “So, I just feel like I don’t know anything in as much as I know the bible, Jesus and Allah. But at the end, I don’t have evidence. The only evidence I have is that there’s a God who is moving me. I know that there must be something that’s somewhere that’s in charge of this whole thing. I believe it’s God.”
