  • Omoni Oboli, crew stuck on Third mainland bridge

    nollywood actress Omoni Oboli who is currently shooting her new movie, Love is War, shared how she and her crew got stuck on the popular Third mainland bridge, Lagos, in the middle of the night while shooting.

    The producer made it known around 3:06am that they were headed back home from set, but had a flat tire.

    “Still stuck on 3rd mainland bridge. We had a flat tire (in short the tire is completely gone) but can’t change the tire because we need a special Lexus L and Key spanner. If you have, pls reach out. We are smack in the middle of 3rd mainland bridge. We have called Lagos State Emergency service and they said they’ll come but…

    “Reach out if you have a towing can or can reach one,” she pleaded.

    To put her fans at rest, the posted at about 7am on the current situation. Saying she was home.

    “It’s around 7am and I’m home guys!!! Praise God! We got a towing van to just tow it to the dealership I use for services. I’m going to take a shower and head right back to set because we have a HUGE shoot day! I’ll try to steal naps in between set ups! I’m exhausted out of my mind but it’s what it is, the show must go on! Thank God for safety, thank you guys for the prayers and love.”

    Love is War, which portrays the actress/producer as a lady politician had her revealing she is passionate about Nigeria and really wish she could serve politically.

  • OKAFOR’S Law: Two years after, Omoni Oboli wins copyright case

    Two years after a long legal tussle, popular Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli has won a case of copyright filed against her by Jude Idada and Chioma Onyekwe of Raconteur Productions.

    It will be recalled that Jude Idada and Chioma Onyekwe of Raconteur Productions got an interlocutory injunction from the Federal High Court preventing Filmone and Dioni Visions from showing the movie, Okafor’s Law.  The judgement led to the premiere being cancelled on March 24, 2017.

    But on May 2, 2019, Honourable Justice Buba of the Federal High Court, (Lagos Division) said the plaintiff failed to adduce sufficient and credible evidence to prove ownership and authorship of the screenplay and the script of the feature film, Okafor’s Law, Law thereby the case was dismissed.

    Omoni who had earlier counter-sued the plaintiff is determined to pursue the case to a logical conclusion.

    Nollywood actress/producer Omoni Oboli, who turned 41 on April 22, celebrated the day with classic dresses made by popular celeb designer, Tiannah’s Empire and Trish O. Couture.

    Flooding her timeline with pictures, the mother of three boys in one of her captioned pictures thanked her creator, saying she is one of the timeless queens, going by her outfit and accomplishment so far.

    “All I have to say is thank you Lord! Timeless queen, ageless queen,” she said.

    “I was born with a gift, the gift of agelessness. I’m not just a year older I’m also a year better and prettier.”

  • Why celebs keep mute over masses’ issue –Omoni Oboli

    NOLLYWOOD actress and producer Omoni Oboli has come out in defence of celebrities that do not speak out for the masses as expected.

    On Thursday, the mother of three took to her Instagram account to note some points saying one cannot win with a lot of Nigerians on some issues.

    “You can’t win with a lot of Nigerians,” she wrote.

    “If you don’t speak up for them, they castigate you! If you speak up, they insult you! What do y’all want?!!!

    “This is something that really bothers me! Let’s discuss it! I don’t blame celebs and public figures when they keep quiet about the issues that affect us all because the backlash lash is always so much. It makes no sense at all. Most of these issues let’s be honest, affect the common man the most but they are the ones that will insult your family if you dare speak up!

    “So because someone bought a car or a house, they have no right to talk about the suffering of the masses? Listen, no matter how much money you have in Nigeria today, you are poorer because you are spending more than you should cos the cost of living is higher and the standard of living is very poor.”

  • Omoni Oboli rewards corps members on election duty with N10K each

    Nollywood actress and producer Omoni Oboli has promised to reward six corps members who manned her polling unit in Victoria Garden City, Lagos on Saturday with the sum of ten thousand naira each.

    Sharing a picture she took with the corps members on her Instagram account, Oboli praised the corps members’ dedication to their work.

    “Our tired faces!,” wrote the thespian who arrived early to organise voters.

    “We finished so late yesterday or should I say this morning. These corpers worked tirelessly. Ahh!!! God bless you guys. I got to my polling station before 6am and got home at past 1am. It was a long tough day but we persevered.”

    “We thank God for the ability to serve our nation. Well done to everyone. We voted and defended our votes!

    The 40 year mother of three has produced movies such as Fatal Imagination, Being Mrs Elliot, The First Lady and Wives On Strike.

     

     

  • OMONI OBOLI lashes social media trolls

    WHILE it is not really clear who Omoni Oboli is hitting at, it is obvious the toe of the mother of three boys has been stepped on.

    On Wednesday, the actress and movie producer lashed from her Instagram.

    “If all you do with social media is troll people and spread bitterness, you are of all men, the most miserable,” she wrote.

    “People are busy making money.”

  • AY, Omoni Oboli star in Hollywood Xmas film

    Nollywood stars Ayo ‘AY’ Makun and Omoni Oboli have been unveiled as part of the voice cast of the movie ‘Elliott: The Littlest Reindeer’ featuring Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games) and Hollywood greats Morena Baccarin (Deadpool 1&2, Homeland), top comedian and ventriloquist, Jeff Dunham and Emmy and Tony award winning Martin Short and John Cleese which is set for a December 14th holiday-season release in cinemas across Nigeria, distributed by FilmOne.

    Award-winning writer and director, Jennifer Westcott directed this story about a determined miniature horse who travels to the North Pole with his pal Hazel the goat to win a spot on Santa’s celebrated sleigh team.

    The collaboration came about through Studio partners based in South Africa after seeing the need for two worlds to come together and make cinematic history.

    Speaking on the development, Empire Entertainment the license holder of “Elliott: The Littlest Reindeer”, expressed their excitement in exploring how this new opportunity can both encourage and open new avenues for future collaboration.

    Kene Okwuosa and Moses Babatope, the Directors at FilmOne Distribution and Production, who contributed majorly to this collaboration and currently working on future alliances stated how pleased they are to be distributing the movie even more so because of the inclusion of the Nollywood cast in the project.

    “AY and Omoni are two very talented/ground breaking Actors and Producers who we have had been very fortunate to work with on varied projects; it was only a natural fit for this especially with 2 actors which such strong family values and family is very important to us at FilmOne,” said Kene.

  • AY, Omoni Oboli make Hollywood debut

    Nigeria’s Ayobami ‘AY’ Makun and Omoni Oboli will make their debut in a Hollywood animation film, “Elliott: The Littlest Reindeer”. Though the characters AY and Oboli would voiced in the film scheduled to premiere on Dec. 14, remain unknown.

     

    The Christmas-themed film also features Hunger Games star, Josh Hutcherson, Dead pool actress, Morena Baccarin, Jeff Dunham, Martin Short and John Cleese.

     

    The animation follows Blitzen- one of Santa’s sleigh pulling reindeers- announcing his retirement on December 21, giving a miniature horse three days to fulfil his lifelong dream.

    The horse has to earn a spot on Santa’s sleigh during the North Pole try-outs in time for Christmas Eve; Elliott and his friend Hazel set out to prove that no dream is too big if you believe in yourself.

     

    AY, who is also a veteran comedian, earned a Guinness World Record recognition for his 2018 film, ‘30 Days in Atlanta’ as the highest grossing film in the territories of Hollywood and Bollywood.

     

    Similarly, Omoni is a seasoned actress and filmmaker, uses films such as ‘Wives on Strike’ and its sequel to address societal issues.

  • Clash: Nigeria, Canada collaboration features Omoni Oboli, Stephanie Linus, others

    A new movie, ‘Clash’, shot in Nigeria and Canada, marks the beginning of co-production between the two countries.

    Produced by Diamond Pictures, Inc, Canada, FEVA TV/WELLS FEVA Production, Canada and The Atuma Brothers International Company, Nigeria, the film was co-financed by the Canadian Media Funds (CMF), FEVA TV (Canada), Warren Beatty of AAB Talent and Management, Canada.

    Promoters say it is a multi-cultural immigrant story that brings together the culture of both countries.

    Cast of the movie include Hollywood actor Brian Hooks; Caribbean actress Marlisa Determined; Nollywood stars actress Stephanie Linus and Omoni Oboli.

    Others are, Canadian actors Dashawn Francis, Naima Sundiata, Derel Isaac, Chelsea Howell, German Wendy and Lou Israel, as well as Percy Dwumfour from Ghana and MC Bonde from Zimbabwe.

    Directed by Pascal Atuma, the movie is set to premiere in Canada in February 2019, and in Nigeria in April 2019. Filmone Distribution is expected to release the film in Africa while Factory Film Studios Distribution will release in North America in 2019.

  • Omoni Oboli’s ‘Moms at War’ goes to cinema

    Moms at War’, a movie by Nollywood actress and producer Omoni Oboli is now in cinemas across the country. The premiere of the movie was held was held last Sunday at the Filmhouse Cinemas, Lekki, Lagos.

    The film is about two families who were next door neighbours. One of the families had a single mom with a male child. The other was a couple raising an only child, a girl.  The children from the two family attend the same school and in the same class. However, the two children were the best in their class and after a test to select the best child that would represent the school in the United Kingdom. This ends up leading to  intrigue, blackmail, scandals, and ultimately unlikely friendships.

    Omoni who dedicated the movie to all the mothers who would go the extra mile to give the best to their children said she was inspired to make the movie by the experience of her mother who brought her up as a single parent.

    The cast parade two Nollywood heavy weights – Omoni Oboli and Funke Akindele among others.
