  • Omotola excited as two kids graduate in two weeks

    VETERAN actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, is in an excited mood as she is celebrating the graduation of two of her children in two weeks.

    Her son, Matthew Junior Ekeinde, who is popularly known as Captain E just graduated with honours from Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus.

    The excited mother shared the news on her Instagram page with a caption: “Finished with honours, my heart is full, may his grace continually be on us,” she wrote.

    MJ Ekeinde, an artist, has produced songs such as ‘Waiting’, ‘Paradise’, ‘Fantasy’, ‘Without You’, ‘Move It’, in the last five years of becoming a music producer.

    Only last week, Omotola’s second daughter, Meraiah, also graduated with two degrees at 19.

    Famous actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde , has celebrated her daughter’s graduation on social media.

    The happy mother shared the good news via her Instagram page.

    “It’s Raining blessings,” she said.

    “I have seen the Lord’s goodness… Please help me as I celebrate. My Twinny @miiimiii_e just Graduate!!!! 2 Degrees! Associate of Art in Merchandise Product Development and A Bachelors of science in Business Management. Both by the age of 19!!! #Capt who was scheduled to be with her couldn’t make it as date for his simulator dragged and he was stuck in SA. However, the family was Ably represented by @micheal_ekeinde and our loving friends. Thank you Irene, Clotilde, Everyone and congrats Mimi…I can’t to see where your journey takes you. Love you loads.”

  • Omotola is a good actor, says Yemi Amodu

    OMOTOLA Jalade-Ekeinde,  who played the lead character in an upcoming movie Shadow Parties, has been described as not just marketable, but a brilliant actor.

    Producer of Shadow Parties, Yemi Amodu, said this while speaking on the choice of character.

    “Why we cast Omotola as lead actor?” He asked.

    “One thing about casting is that if you cast wrongly, that means you would not have a movie. The question is who the people are; the vehicle of the dramatic action that you aim as a director or producer?

    “Omotola not only is marketable, but because she is a very good actor, I must confess. I worked with her for the first time on set. And before we concluded that we could have her, we had to do a lot of research and  had to watch many of her movies.

    “The attributes of an actor is considered on how professional and be able to use the tools of an actor. This had to do with reflex; her texture, hands, body, a lot of things like manner and place of articulations. So many things were put in place for our choice of Omotola as the central character in the movie.”

    The beautiful and iconic actress who has been married for 22 years to Captain Matthew Ekeinde, shares what can keep a marriage.

    She says: “Just pray to God that you meet the right person because no matter how good you are a bad person will bring out the worst of you and trust me there’s a demon in everyone. So I think something I know very sure is; from the onset, when you are meeting someone, make sure you have God. And I know this might sound crazy but it’s the truth. I can’t say what I don’t know. That’s what I know…”

    She continues by saying that she and her husband respect one another and maintain their space without depending on one another. Also, they don’t put everything out there both on social media and in public. She adds that these are the reasons that they maintain a healthy relationship.

    Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde’s husband is a pilot, and definitely, he’ll have a very busy career. The actress also has a busy life, but they make efforts to maintain their loving relationship and marriage.

    NOLLYWOOD diva, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, who is popularly known as Omosexy, has said she once nursed the idea of running a clothing outfit.

    The actress who is known for her love for stylish wears disclosed this in one of her recent social media posts.

    Flaunting a picture where she had a patterned wrap maxi dress on, the actress said in the caption: “I once almost had a clothing line, I love wrap dresses, wrap skirts…Wrap everything…”

    Omosexy, who was in Los Angeles in early February, which is also her birth month had her picture displayed at one of the cinema houses, celebrating #BlacksinCinema #BlackHistoryMonth.

    Not hiding her excitement, Omosexy appreciated the people of Los Angeles for the recognition and wrote: “Thank You #CityofLosAngeles for this Amazing Recognition and … Happy Birthday to Me. There are new frontiers to cross, don’t over think it, Get up, Go. Make History.”

  • Omotola’s Last child heads to American university

    At a time when Nigerian tertiary institutions are closed, Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has cause to celebrate as her last child, Michael, heads off to start his studies at an American university.

    She took to her Instagram account to share the good news.

    “My 2019 has started Blessed,” she wrote, posting a picture of herself and her son.

    “Father, Your Love for me is Overwhelming. You alone be praised!

    At 40, my last child Has Left for Uni. Now let’s see what we can do with the term “Life begins at 40″!”

  • Celebrities lead Independence Day wishes on social media

    Some Nigerian celebrities have taken to their Instagram pages to share national wishes and prayers to mark the Independence Day celebrations.

    Patience Ozokwor, Alex Unusual, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Timi Dakolo are among celebrities who posted Independence Day wishes.

    Most of the celebrities posted pictures of themselves wearing green and white outfits as an ode to the Nigerian flag; prayers and messages of hope to their Nigerian followers.

    Reality TV star, Alex Asogwa aka Alex unusual, took her patriotism to a whole new level with a picture celebrating her “Nigerianess”.

    Alex unusual was seen in her signature short hair, coloured white and skin also coloured green behind the national flag.

    She wrote: “In a rush to leave for my meeting, I still have to say happy Independence Day to my fanmily. Happy birthday Nigeria.”

    Similarly, Veteran actress, Patience Ozokwor shared photographs alongside a very inspiring caption.

    She said: “Happy independence day to my beautiful country Nigeria. We are not remotely where we need to be as a country but we have faith, hope and we never give up.

    “I urge every Nigerian to work hard every day to make Nigeria better in whatever little way you can. We can complain about everything but nothing will change until our mindset changes.

    “It is ‘Our Nigeria’, let’s do all we can to make it great,” Ozokwor said.

    Also, screen diva, actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde aka Omosexy shared a collage of herself in green and white outfits with a hopeful message for her followers.

    She said, “Happy 58th Nigeria. Happy 58th birthday Nigeria. We are NigeriansWe are strong. We are Indefatigable. We remain undefeated. We are winners.

    “We are achievers. We are one. Happy Independence Day Nigerians… from all of us at Omosexy nation. Cheers to a new month,” Omotola wrote.

    However, soul singer, Timi Dakolo shared a video of himself performing his hit song ‘Great Nation’ at a national function as a prayer for Nigeria.

    He added a simple lyric from the song as a caption – “we are all we have” as a call to action and hope for his followers.

    NAN reports that Dakolo’s ‘Great Nation’ is currently trending on social media as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

    The song is being tagged by some Nigerians as the perfect and most hopeful song as the country marks its 58th year of Independence.

  • BBNaija’s Alex Unusual, IfuEnnada lead fans on PVC registration

     Alex Unusual and Ifu Ennada, BBNaija `Double Wahala” 2018 stars led some of their fans to register for Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in Lagos on Wednesday.

    The duo selected ten fans to accompany them on the ‘PVC Date’ which featured registration for PVC and a hangout afterwards.

    In a joint post on their Instagram pages @alex_unusual and @ifuennada, they wrote, “Your PVC is your choice. Make sure you get it.

    “There are several people we could vote into power, when we get to that bridge, we would cross it.

    “If this is successful, I will do more ‘PVC Dates’ but please don’t wait for me to get to your area.

    “Go out and get yours because registration is closing very soon,” they said.

    Ifu Ennada in another post thanked the fans who came out for the registration exercise after sharing a video of the ‘PVC Date’.

    Several celebrities including musicians, actors and fashion entrepreneurs alike, have also been leading the PVC registration campaign.

    Musicians Falz, Simi, D’banj and Banky W alongside Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Rukky Sanda, Alex Ekubo and IK Ogbonna have led campaigns for their fans to get PVCs.

    Similarly, Yomi Casual, Swanky Jerry, Tobi Bakre, 2Baba and Efe Omoregbe have joined the train of celebrities clamoring for voters registration.

  • INEC registers 9.7 million new voters

    The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it registered 9.7 million new voters between April 27, 2017 and June 14.

    INEC chairman Prof Mahmood Yakubu stated this on Wednesday at the INEC Youth Votes Count Campus Outreach at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

    The event was organized in collaboration with the European Union (EU) in commemoration of Europe Day 2018 and the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES).

    Mahmood, who delivered the keynote address, launched an INEC voter registration centre at the varsity as well as the Voter Education Volunteer Provramme (UNILAG) chapter.

    He said: “From the 27th of April last year till to the 14th of June this year, we registered 9.7 million new voters in Nigeria. The majority of them are young people. So, you have the power to change. There cannot be proper elections conducted in this country without young people…”

    He said the antidote to security challenges at polling centres is active participation by the electorate.

    According to Mahmood, ‘nobody will take a gun where they know they will be challenged but when people abandon polling units, it becomes easier for merchants of violence to disrupt the process.”

    The event also Head of EU delegation to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Ambassador Ketil Karlsen; Project Coordinator ECES, Rudolf Elbling; Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Lagos State, Sam Olumekun.

    Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde actor/comedians Bright Okpocha, alias Basketmouth, Ayo Makun alias AY, Helen Paul alias Tatafo led a panel of discussants at the event.

    Karlsen urged the youth to take advantage of their numerical strength and own the electoral system in Nigeria.

    He added: “What I would really like to assemble is the strongest partnership ever between the European Union and Nigeria and strongest partnership ever between the European Union and the youth of Nigeria.”

    Jalade-Ekeinde urged youths not to be afraid to “waste our votes” on the candidates of their choice.

    She said: “The point is not whether or not the candidate of your choice wins but the point is to put the numbers behind them to give them the needed confidence to try again. Come 2019, we should be ready to waste our votes even if it is just to make a point and disrupt the status.”

    Basketmouth, AY and Tatafo urged young adults to go beyond merely complaining but get their Permanent Voter Cards and exercise their franchise either by contesting for office or voting.

    UNILAG Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, who spoke earlier urged the students to seize the opportunity provided by the event to “participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise,” and collect their permanent voter cards.

    “This voter education campaign for students of tertiary institutions must be applauded,” Ogundipe added.

    APPARENTLY in the mood for her coming birthday celebration, sultry actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has shared a lovely photo of herself coming down from an air craft in a lovely red dress, accompanied by a young man.

    The actress, in January, revealed that she will be celebrating her 40th birthday with a five-day event, starting from February 7th-11th, 2018.

    The actress and philanthropist wants to use the opportunity to reach out to as many women and widows as possible in a line-up of activities which she tagged ‘Omotola4PointO.

    The five-day event which will start on her birthday will see the actress offering gift items to widows and orphans through programme tagged ‘Give and Let’s Give To Widows and Orphans’.

    A couples’ retreat tagged ‘Reciprocative, Respect, Mental Health and Avoiding Slavery in Marriage’ has also been scheduled for the second day while the third day is a ‘Renaissance Trip’ to trace the beginning of slavery. On the fourth day, a symposium where notable personalities will be discussing issues relating to ‘Mental Slavery and the Emancipation of the Black Race’ will take place.

    The last day is set for a grand celebration which is themed ‘The Omosexy Grand Ball’.

    Recall that the actress was listed by Time Magazine among 100 most influential people in the world alongside Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and Kate Middleton.

    Omotola is married to pilot Captain Matthew Ekeinde, and they have four children.

    The actress who is the founder of Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme (OYEP) is also a UN WFP ambassador and Amnesty International activist.
