    I’m disappointed in you, daughter tells Patoranking

    Daughter of popular singer Patoranking, Wilmer, has expressed disappointment in him.

    In a video he shared,, the eldest daughter lamented her father’s absence from their event and how she wished he could have spent more time with them.

    The father of two apologised to them, explaining that he had a doctor’s visit.

    Patoranking in the video stated that he is always apologising even when he didn’t offend Wilmer.

    Wilmer said: “I am disappointed in you” Patoranking responded with, “I am sorry, I went to the doctor I said am sorry”.

    Singer Patoranking releases new album ‘World Best’

    Popular artiste Patrick Okorie aka Patoranking has released his fourth album titled: “World Best”.

    It is a masterfully modern culmination of this genre fusion driven by love, life, and conscious lyricism.

    He released ‘World Best” on Wednesday September 6 2023.

    Patoranking collaborated with international icons, including American hip-hop legend Ludacris, Jamaica’s dancehall maestro Beenie Man, and Kingston’s unruly boss Popcaan.

    Bringing it down to African talents, he featured Kizz Daniel , Diamond Platnumz, Victony, Gyakie, Zion Foster, and more.

    The father of one has released couple of albums in past years.

  • Patoranking, Teni, others perform at NickFest

    It was a day of fun at Balmoral Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, as children and parents thronged Nickelodeon family festival.

    The event, headlined by Patoranking, Teni the entertainer, Fireboy and Rema had the performing acts take their slots on the Nickelodeon stage to thrill the excited crowd. It was indeed a night of glitz, glamour, great music and slime. Their exhilarating performances set the venue in a delightful mood which had kids, parents and other music lovers engage in a sing-along.

    The venue was well lit with a relaxing ambience created by the Nickelodeon traditional bright orange colour.

    The excitement continued as children in attendance witnessed the arrival of their favourite Nickelodeon characters live at the festival. They  include SpongeBob Squarepants, Adventure Bay’s intrepid pups, Skye, Rubble Marshall and Chase from Paw Patrol, and everyone’s favourite genies, Shimmer and Shine and The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles who is performing in Nigeria for the first time.

    Moreso, celebrity guests such as Davido’s daughter Imade, Noble Igwe, Wizkid’s son, Boluwatife, Kemi Smallz, Sensei Uche, IK Osakioduwa, Osas Ighodaro, Dr Sid, BBNaija Ex Housemate, Sir Dee and a host of others were present at the event.

    NickFest host of the day, Mannie Essien and Amarachi Uyanne kept the mood alive with their spirited delivery.

    Speaking at  the event, Alex Okosi, Executive Vice President and Managing Director VIMN Africa, owners of Nickelodeon, said: “We are indeed grateful that our family-centric TV entertainment content was transformed to an event experience that has brought joy and entertainment to families. We have had an incredible show of support from parents and kids year after year and Nickfest in Nigeria continues to gain more fans.”

    Meanwhile, Teni, ahead of her new song titled, ‘Billionaire’, set for release on Friday is set to make three lucky people richer.

    On Monday, Teni took to Instagram to reveal that her team will be helping the selected winners to start up a business of their choice.

    “I’ll be picking three people that need help starting their business ventures,” she wrote.

    ‘Billionaire’ is produced by Pheelz Mr Producer.

    The song was produced by South Africa’s Tatenda Terence Kamera while the video was shot in the London, UK and it was directed by Luke Biggins.

  • Gidi Fest announces Patoranking, Niniola, Teni, other performers

    The Gidi Culture Festival has announced artistes in its first line-up for the festival.

    They include Patoranking, Niniola, Teni the Entertainer, Moonchild Sanelly and DJ Neptune.

    They artistes are expected to perform at the 6th edition of the annual music, food, art, games festival which will hold on April 20, 2019.

    The festival will be presenting a carefully curated and diverse line-up of some of the most exciting acts on the continent making waves across the globe.

    Patoranking played his first major show at the inaugural edition of the festival in 2014, just as Niniola, a multi-award-winning artist has been working with Sarz to establish house music in the Nigerian pop consciousness. Her younger sister Teni the entertainer is another clear standout in the Afro-pop world.

    Johannesburg-based artist Moonchild Sanelly comes to Gidi for the first time this year and brings her empowering character and trademarked hair with her. The ghetto funk superstar draws inspiration from a rich background of kwaito, hip hop, and jazz, and turns it into a colorful combination of GQOM music, fashion, and dance. There is also the multi-award-winning, DJ Neptune, who is known for his diverse representation of sounds from across the continent.

    The popular Next Gen stage is back for a second year at Gidi Fest and features some of the underground talents moving and redefining the Nigerian sound; Boogey, Mo’ Believe, Tems, Ogranya, Mich Straaw, Blaqbonez and Dami Oniru

  • Patoranking collaboration excites singer, Leki

    Budding singer, Ernest Augustine Effiong, aka Leki is currently making waves in the Nigerian music industry with his recent release of a spanking single titled ‘Dependin’.

    Featuring Dancehall superstar, Patoranking, the singer says that love is the main inspiration behind the new track.

    “It is all about the power of real love and being there for each other unconditionally,” he says, describing the style as Afro Fusion.

    Leki who also has degree in Mass Communication and journalism at Sikkin Manipal University, Ghana says that he draws a lot of inspiration for his Afro Fusion music from Fela, 2baba, Burna Boy, Jesse Jags amongst others.

    The major collaboration between the upcoming singer and established act has caught the eye of music buffs and has been enjoying good rotation on music TV channels as well as urban Radio channels across the country..

    In retrospect, the singer recalls his chemistry the ‘My Woman’ crooner as an instant connection.

    “I felt Patoranking’s kind of music will connect well. From the first day we met at the studio I was certain his sound would blend well with mine. We had so many freestyle sessions and I enjoyed every bit working with him. I don’t mind working with him on another project, later in future.

    “I want to be recognized and remembered for my music even after I am no more. Global recognition for my Brand and African sounds,” says the singer.

    In October 2017, Leki got signed to V Nation Music. The new track, ‘Dependin’ was produced by E Kelly.

    Airtel Smart Icon, Patoranking was amongst the big winners at the recently concluded MTV Africa Music Awards in South-Africa. He raked in the Song of the year award with his hit song ‘My Woman, My Everything’ which featured Wande Coal.

    patorThe Girlie O crooner, who has been receiving a lot of critical acclaim to his recently released debut Album ‘God over Everything’ (GOE) beat fellow Nigerians Harry song (Reggae Blues), Olamide (Shakiti bobo), Korede Bello (Godwin), Emtees ft. Wizkid (Roll Up), DJ Maphorisa ft. Wizkid (Soweto Baby) and Sauti Sol (Unconditionally bae) to clinch the Award.

    He also delivered a mouth-watering performance worthy of mention at the award ceremony which held at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg, where he performed hits after hits including No kissing baby with Sarkodie.

    Patoranking came into the limelight in 2014 with his hit single Alubarika and has grown to become one of Nigeria’s biggest superstars in such a short time. He also coached alongside Music Veteran and legend Tuface Idibia, Timi Dakolo and Waje at the recently concluded The Voice Nigeria music competition. Indeed, nobody wey no fit to make am.

    Ancehall artiste, Patoranking, who recently released his latest work titled God Over Everything (GOE) in a recent interview, revealed the reason of the gospel-like title.

    “I’m somebody that my music depicts my lifestyle, everything that has to be about my upbringing and how I rose to fame,” he said.

    “Patoranking generally, the life and times of Patoranking. I got to figure out that a lot of people want to be famous, a lot of people want to be known for different things, for wearing the best designers. Others for having a lot of properties. But you know not everybody knows that despite everything you have, it’s still vanity, it’s still God over everything.

    “The album is about love, about God, and it’s about where I come from, and where I’m headed to. In as much as you are trying to dance, just always remember that it is still God over everything. No matter what you possess, no matter what you do in life, it should be a thought that has to go with your day to day activity. No matter the amount of money I have on earth, it is still God. That’s why we chose the title God Over Everything.

    Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter with family roots in Ebonyi State. The artiste who was one of the judges at the just concluded The Voice Nigeria is known for hit tracks like My Woman, My Everything, Girlie ‘O’ and Alubarika.
