    My artists are still missing – Portable cries out after alleged attack in Lagos

    Controversial singer Portable was reportedly attacked by area boys during an event in Iju-Ishaga, Lagos state.

    In a viral video, Portable recounted the incident, revealing that he sustained serious injuries, and his crew members remain unaccounted for.

    The singer had attended the event to celebrate with a friend, but his behaviour upset some individuals, resulting in the violent assault.

    Portable claimed that the attackers stole valuable items, including jewellery, an ATM card, and iPhones.

    He has since taken to social media, urging the celebrant to help recover his stolen belongings and locate his missing crew members, including artists and managers.

    Speaking in pidgin, he wrote: “Wahala big palaba around Iju-Ishaga. We go celebrate with @lincon_orn who dey sell motor. Inside Adugbo wey we dey do show, na so all dis Egbon adugbo achieve us, ZEHNATION boys are still missing oo.

    “They attacked my boys after I escaped… @lincon_orn should help tell those Egbon adugbo to return @iam_sexyshay’s 2 iPhones and my ATM. We see @dullarboi’s phones and car but we still can’t find him.

    “I haven’t seen @bamidola_ we hear say them attack him. Those are my artistes that are missing oo. God no go shame us. All these people are evil, na so them achieve me. Those Egbon adugbo collected my ice chain and my gold earring after I showed them love and gave them all my money. They still wanted to collect my bag. Are they fans or enemies?”

    According to Portable, he anticipated Davido’s verse on his song but it didn’t happen.

    The controversy stems from a dispute between the two artists in June when Portable accused Davido of giving him bad advice during a dinner meeting in Atlanta, leading to Davido unfollowing him on Instagram.

    He shared his latest release on Instagram, revealing that the song was initially meant to feature a verse from Davido, but he was left hanging.

    He wrote: “Na who helps you be your helper; who promise you fit change mind. As @davido no gree give me verse on this song, I don kuku drop myself. Star. Don’t beg to shine. Who go help you no go stress you.”

    Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has announced that he would not be participating in the planned nationwide protest against the high cost of living in Nigeria.

    The protest, scheduled for August 1-10, aims to express concern over the rising cost of living and economic struggles faced by Nigerians.

    In a viral video, Portable attributed his decision to his current financial success, stating that he was poor when he joined protests in 2020 but he is now rich.

    He advised his fans to focus on personal development and hard work rather than engaging in protests, emphasising that “Rich people don’t fight.”

    Speaking in a blend of Pidgin and Yoruba, he said: “My fans. Some said I protested in 2020. Yes, it is true, but I was poor at that time. Now, I am rich. Have you ever seen Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote, and Dele Momodu protesting?

    “Then, I was thinking like a poor man who had nothing. I am now rich. Rich people don’t fight.

    “It will not end well for anyone who suggests that I should go and sing in a protest. Why don’t you take the microphone and sing at the protest yourself? If you are hustling and you have work to do, you will not join them to protest.”

    Controversial singer Portable has ignited a firestorm of criticism after stating that there is no reason for the planned nationwide protest against the rising cost of living under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

    In an Instagram video, Portable claimed that those planning to protest are jobless and lazy, attributing their struggles to a lack of hustle and loyalty.

    He warned he should not be asked to perform during the protest, saying “I need money, I’m hustling.

    “It won’t be well with anyone who tells me to perform during the protest. Don’t you have a producer too? You should also collect the mic and join the protest too.

    “Please, I need money, I’m hustling. If you take your job seriously, you won’t join the protest. Don’t fight for Nigeria, fight for yourself.

    “Nigeria is okay, you are the one who is not okay. There is money in some places, you are the one who did not hustle or not loyal to your helper.

    Portable’s comments have been met with widespread outrage, with many accusing him of being insensitive and out of touch with the struggles of everyday Nigerians.

    “Some of you look for trouble, talk about me, and insult me online first. But when I just mention your name, you will write a petition against me for defaming you but you know you started it. You almost set me up. I got help. I begged, prostrated, and cried there. They listened to my cry. We are not fighting each other. It is the business. For artists, it is normal to write diss tracks. So if I insult you, it is nothing serious. I just did it because you wronged me. Thankfully, the Lagos IG is my fan if not… They said I should be dropped.”

    In a recent Instagram live session, Portable claimed that he received an invitation to Davido’s wedding but would have played a more significant role as a groomsman if not for the interference of rapper Zlatan Ibile.

    Portable said: “I was invited to Davido’s wedding. If Zlatan Ibile hadn’t ruined my friendship with Davido, I’d have been among the groomsmen.”

    The drama between Portable and Davido began after their dinner meeting in the United States, where Portable accused Davido of giving him “bad advice” on his music career.

    Portable alleged that Davido advised him to sign with Empire instead of Sony Music, which led to a rift between the two artists.

    The controversy began when Portable accused Davido of giving him “bad advice” regarding record labels, claiming Davido advised him against signing with Sony Music and instead suggested Empire, which Portable perceived as a hindrance to his Grammy aspirations.

    In response to Davido unfollowing him, Portable asserted his independence, stating he doesn’t need Davido’s support or followership to achieve success or win a Grammy.

    He implied that Davido only unfollowed him because he was no longer beneficial to him.
