Actor John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, has requested financial aid from well-meaning Nigerians due to a health issue that might result in him losing his leg.

These reports have spurred reactions from netizens and Nollywood fans.

Social commentator, Reno Omokri urged his followers “Renonuggeteers” to donate to Mr Ibu’s account number.

He also pointed out that Mr Ibu was a staunch supporter of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi.

He wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page: ”I sympathise with John Ikechukwu Okafor, AKA Mr. Ibu, over his ailment, and I urge all #RenosNuggeteers to donate to the account number he put out.

“Please do not ignore his cries for help. I also urge members of the public to donate. However, this is a man who publicly endorsed Peter Obi. He and his daughter danced for Peter Obi and broke the Internet.

“They went out on the streets campaigning for Obi. The same Peter Obi who boasted that he is richer than President Biden of the US, who at the time of Peter’s boast was worth $8.2 million.

“After all that John Okafor did for him, perhaps Mr. Peter Obi can support him by paying Mr. Ibu’s medical bills. I am even surprised that Peter Obi did not remember to post about Mr. Ibu on his birthday yesterday. Even at that, Peter Obi should help him in his time of need.”

Tinubu graduated from CSU but I still support Atiku, says Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has responded to criticism for holding ‘facts’ about the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite his affiliation with the opposition.

Regarding President Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University report, Omokri emphasized that he was, in fact, admitted, attended, and successfully graduated from the same institution.

He said he could make this claim because he personally took a trip to the varsity in 2022, to establish the truth and didn’t rely on speculations while parties were preparing for the 2023 elections.

He clarified that while he continues to support Atiku, who requested four document categories from CSU regarding Tinubu’s graduation, it doesn’t prevent him from recognizing Tinubu’s legitimacy as an alumnus of the American institution.

Omokri noted as a result of his investigation on the matter, he was able to counter Rufai Oseni, co-host of Arise TV morning Show as well as the station’s report on Tinubu being denied by CSU.

According to the social media commentator, he isn’t the kind of person whose words falter and would always speak the truth whether it would end up favouring his enemies or hurting his allies.

He tweeted: “I am one of the few persons whose stories NEVER changed. I fire to Chicago on September 18, 2022, and went to Chicago State University on September 19, 2022. I did not rely on the Internet, rumours, gossip or beer parlour talk.

“On November 22, 2022, when Rufai Oseni and AriseTV lied that Chicago State University denied Bola Tinubu, I told them they were lying on air. That was three months before the election.

“Two weeks after appearing on AriseTV, I was at Chatham House protesting against Bola Tinubu, whom I called out.

“So, when exactly did I dump Waziri Atiku Abubakar? When I was saying before the election that Bola Tinubu was admitted, attended, and graduated from Chicago State University.

“What I am saying today and what I said before, during, and after the election are the same. Because the truth is constant.

“It is because some people have a trader mentality and can sell their fathers for money that they believe everyone is like them. I will always tell the truth, even if it favours my enemy and injures my friend! #TableShaker.”

The Nation reports that the Chicago State University (CSU) responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order.

In its compliance with the September 30 judgment by Justice Nancy Maldonado of the Northern District of Illinois Court, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students.

Atiku had, by his application, sought four categories of documents from the CSU.

The CSU confirmed that President Bola Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

Peter Obi would have visited MoBhad’s family if he died before election – Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has claimed that Peter Obi, the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party in the February 2023 election, would have visited the family of late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba aka MohBad, if there was an upcoming election.

The singer died on Tuesday, September 12, after reportedly receiving treatments for an ear infection.

The Nation reports that the singer was buried in Ikorodu, Lagos on Wednesday.

Omokri, who stated this via a post on X former Twitter on Monday night, said Obi would have paid Mohbad’s family a visit if the singer had died before the presidential election.

He posted: “Sadly, the truth is that if this were before the election, Peter Obi would have visited Mohbad’s family by now.

“He would have posted about it. He may even have shed some crocodile tears and perhaps donated some money.

“But the election is over. And Mohbad is not from a certain part of Nigeria. He is not a member of the Labour Party or an Obidient. So, there is no need for Peter Obi to even pretend that he cares!”

Men who put eyes on wives’ monies hardly progress – Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has cautioned men against developing interest in lavishing their wives’ funds.

He argued that men that pick strong interest in their partner’s wealth in a bid to spend it rarely make headway in life.

He maintained the husband’s money belonged to him, his wife and kids but the wife’s was meant for her and the kids only.

Omokri advised men never to make plans for their wives’ monies, adding though they’ve been made one as married couples but they remained heads of their homes and it was their sole responsibility to bear the family’s financial burdens.

He wrote: “As a husband, your money is meant for you, your wife and your children to spend. But your wife’s money is not meant for you to spend.

“Don’t even think of it. Don’t make plans for it. Pretend it does not even exist. Never eye her money. Leave it for her and the children. Make your own!

“Men who put their eyes on their wives’ monies hardly progress. It is contrary to nature and good judgment.

“Yes, two shall become one. But you are the head of the family. A head is designed to carry weight and not just to Lord it about. Carry the weight!”
