Media personality Toke Makinwa has welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Yakira Eliana.

She shared the news on Instagram, posting a tender photo of her newborn’s hand holding hers.

In her heartfelt caption, Makinwa described the moment as the happiest of her life, referring to her daughter’s birth as a “miracle” and an “answered prayer”.

The new mom expressed her deep gratitude to God, emphasising that every detail of her precious daughter, from her tiny fingers to her toes, was proof of God’s divine response to her prayers.

She wrote, “I’m a Mommy… This is the happiest I’ve ever been. My precious daughter, the love I never knew existed, my heart in another human being, my love. I have seen the goodness of God in my lifetime; I have seen God move and I no longer just hear of it, I see it. It ended in praise, My miracle is here.

“Yakira Eliana, Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, Adunola. My purpose, my reason, my evidence. Thank you for choosing me, thank you for making me a Mother. My heart overflows with so much gratitude. God heard, God answered. Every single detail, down to your fingers and toes, oh He heard my prayers. Meet my miracle, Yakira Eliana – Precious, Beloved – of great worth, My God has answered.”

Makinwa’s announcement comes weeks after she revealed her pregnancy, and since then, her social media page has been flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities.

‎Media personality Toke Makinwa has revealed how she coped with fear during the first few months of her pregnancy journey but faith in God made her strong.

‎Toke, who announced her first pregnancy on August 13, 2025, reflected on overcoming months of anxiety.

‎She admitted to initially wanting to keep the news private but found strength in her faith. 

‎Toke expressed excitement about motherhood, describing it as her “biggest project” and “highest calling.”

She also celebrated other expectant mothers, welcoming them to the “Gen Beta” generation. 

‎She wrote: “Perfect love drives out fear. Oh I spent a lot of months afraid, afraid of what could go wrong, I wanted to run away. I became weird and just didn’t want to share this joy with the world and then I remembered that the gift of the Lord makes so much rich, it adds no sorrow.

‎”My big, we are light, we are a city set in a hill, there is no hiding place for a gold fish. So my praise is louder than any fear. It’s different this time. He makes all things beautiful in his time. 2026 mamas to be and mamas, congratulations. I hear we begin a new generation, Gen Beta.”

Toke, in the video showcased a pink bag, indicating she is expecting a girl. 

‎Toke had announced her pregnancy, describing it as her life’s most significant project and a divine response to her prayers for a transformative 2025.

‎She explained that she opted for an intimate reveal, visiting her favorite stores to select gifts in the gender’s colour to capture the special moment. 

‎”I couldn’t wait to find out the gender of my baby, I wanted a very intimate gender reveal and that’s what I did. Went to my top 3 stores and bought presents that represented the colour of the gender. 

“‎I decided to put together this precious moment to share with your online Uncle and aunties”, she captioned the video.

‎Earlier this year on her podcast, Toke expressed her readiness to settle down, even as a second, third, or fourth wife.

‎She previously discussed being single and childless at 40, reflecting on her resilience despite past marital challenges.

‎Last year, she responded to a troll mocking her unmarried status, confidently stating that God would bless her, and the troll would witness her joy.

Following Big Brother Naija Season 10 kick off, fans have expected ‘The Buzz: BBNaija’ to also commence in the second week.

However, the talk show on Showmax, which is anchored by Toke Makinwa, has been stalled for the first time since it began in 2021 during the BBNaija Season 6.

According to those who should know, the talk show was cancelled for the 10th season, after the host and face of the show, Toke Makinwa revealed her pregnancy status.

Three weeks into the show, Makinwa confirmed the tale when she flaunted her baby bump and announced to the world her biggest project.

It is unsure if Makinwa will return as the host of the BBNaija talk show for season 11 but those in the know claimed the season 10 will make it the second time the talk show took a leave – the first being season eight.

Nollywood stars Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham and singer Tiwa Savage have defended their colleague, Toke Makinwa, after she announced her pregnancy on Instagram.

A troll questioned the authenticity of her pregnancy, stating it might be artificial or involve a surrogate.

In response, Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele laid a curse on the troll, while Tiwa Savage told the troll to delete their comment.

“Why do I feel it’s artificial and low-key, a surrogate? However, if I’m feeling good, congratulations to her.”

Responding to the troll, Toyin Abraham laid a curse on her.
