This year has been mentally draining for me, this post is not looking for your sympathy because Instagram is not real and we are all going through it plus you all know I’ve got this but sometimes even Superman needs a day off and quite frankly I am tired of being strong. Been too strong for too long in the words of MJB.

“March I’m dealing with more loss and one thing about grief, it comes in waves but through it all, I’m thankful that I can say God is Good.

“My year officially starts in April, I can’t wait to share all that I’ve been silently working on with you, I hope you all find the time to rest too. It’s ok to take the time off from everyone.

“S/O to those who heard my silence and showed up, thank you to the people who took some weight off, you know yourselves.

“See you all in April, shit it’s in a couple of days. Damnnnn May??? I kid April it is. Happy Good Friday, ok bye”

Why I tore my written prayer requests, by Toke Makinwa

Media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa, has disclosed the driving force behind her decision to tear up her written prayer requests.

On her social media platform, she shared that she tore her prayer requests upon realizing that experiencing tragedy doesn’t make someone an enemy of God.

She emphasized that God doesn’t owe anyone anything and that both positive and negative events occur in life.

Despite this, she advocates for individuals to focus on their endeavours and remain calm, saying that life unfolds according to its design.

Toke emphasized that while she acknowledges the reality of God’s existence, she finds it challenging to comprehend the prevalence of suffering in the world.

She stated that her tweet should not be misconstrued, adding that she is not suggesting that God is incapable of effecting change or that prayer is ineffective.

She revealed that she tore her prayer requests because people are often obsessed with what they want God to do next, that they do not live in the moment whether good or bad.

She said: “I know God is real but I struggle to understand why there is so much pain in the world, why good people die, why death has to be so excruciating, why does it seem like when you’re about to enjoy life, something goes wrong? Why do kids/young people die? Why were they born sef?

“Today I woke up and tore up all my prayer requests, cos the people that have a tragedy befall them are not God’s enemies. I have realized he owes us nothing. Good and bad happen to all. Just do your own bit and relax, life has already been programmed to happen how it will.

“Pls don’t misquote my tweet, I’m not saying God doesn’t change things or prayer isn’t good, I tore up my prayer requests cos we are often obsessed with what we want God to do next that we do not live in the moment good/bad which could possibly be our last.

“The people whose misfortune happens to also are loved by God. They also pray, they also believe. Life will happen as it’s been programmed to happen.”

Red flags won’t turn green, Toke Makinwa advises singles

Media personality, Toke Makinwa has offered a few pieces to single people amid Valentine celebration.

The Lagos socialite broke down into ten well detailed points that resonated with her thought process.

She shared 10 life lessons for singles on Valentines Day:

“1. Out of everything you gotta beg for in this life, never let love be one of them.

    2. If you have to constantly repeat yourself, it’s either they are committed to not hearing you or they don’t care enough. Stop telling people what they already know, that long paragraph won’t change the obvious, let them go.

    3. While in life negotiations are inevitable, keep them centered around (money, where you live, job positions, vacations etc), never let your self worth be one of them.

    4. You are your one true love, never forget that.

    5. Nothing will bring you more peace than your mental health, prioritize this and never ever compromise that for nobody.

    6. It is better to adjust your life to their absence than to lower your boundaries to accommodate the disrespect.

    7. Love is a beautiful thing, it won’t always be easy but as long as you are BOTH committed to working it out, it is usually and in most cases worth it.

    8. Never ever settle. Who you pick to do life with is the second most important decision you’ll ever make in your life, It can make or break you.

    9. Being single is not a death sentence, enjoy your time alone, discover YOU, love You how you want to be Loved.

    10. The greatest love story is the one you have with your creator, he is madly in love with you, his love never changes and it will never fail.

“A bonus one, red flags won’t turn green, it’s not a traffic light baby, never let anyone show you twice that they don’t want you”.

“I feel like I have gotten to a place in my life where you can’t shame the shameless. If I cheat tomorrow and you want to leave I will respect you. If you want to stay, don’t use it to taunt me because I have won the crown of a cheater.

“If I’m going to be very honest, cheating is no longer a deal breaker for me. It used to be; when I was younger, I would never have been able to say these. I would have said if he cheated, I’m putting him back in the street.

“As I grew older, I realized men cheat, women cheat. It’s easier for a woman to cheat, it’s self-restraint that stops us. The reason why I’m not quick to put you out is I might be the first person to cheat on you. Forgive me as I have forgiven you.”
