    Tuface Idibia, T-pain to perform at AFRIMMA

    Big A Entertainment, the organisers of African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), has confirmed the acceptance of both sensational Hip hop act, Tuface Idibia and Grammy award-winning rapper, Faheem Najm, alias T-pain, as the new set of music superstars who will be performing at the awards show scheduled to take place on July 26, at the Eisemann Center, Richardson, Texas, United States.

    The two singing sensations will be thrilling the crowd individually and jointly, with the remix of Tuface’s song, Rainbow, which features the American star. The song is Tuface’s popular single on his 2012 album, Away & Beyond.

    Already, Tuface is being tipped to be the cynosure at the event, having raised the bar of international collaborations with the success of Rainbow and featuring on T-Pain’s new single, If I Got It, which also has Senegalese-American artiste, Akon.

    The founder/CEO of Big A Entertainment, Mr. Anderson Obiagwu, said his company was determined to sustain the drive towards a world-class African awards show through what he described as its “crossing boundaries with music”.

    “This event will not only celebrate the music of Africa, but celebrate the unique sounds, culture and artistes who tell the stories of our continent as a whole.

    “AFRIMMA represents growth, celebration and pushing the culture and music of Africa continuously forward for the better. It will be an amazing night while celebrating the artistes who have influenced and impacted the culture as well as the pioneers who laid the framework for the music of today,” he said.

    It will be recalled that international airline carrier, Arik Air, has signed on as the sponsor of the AFRIMMA.

    Also, Laura Maczka, Mayor of Richardson, has issued an official proclamation from the city endorsing its support of AFRIMMA.

    Obiagwu further said: “Also, International Television Powerhouse, Sound City, has signed on as a media partner and will broadcast the award show throughout Africa. The network has been dubbed as the ‘Pan- African Urban Music Channel’ and will provide the exclusive broadcast of AFRIMMA.”

    According to the organisers, AFRIMMA will honour some of the world’s top African musical artistes, managers, producers, Deejays and cultural influencers.

    The event, which will be hosted by comedian Basket Mouth and actress Juliet Ibrahim, is expected to attract guests from the United States as well as over 17 African countries.

    It will also feature exclusive performances from popular musicians, dancers and artistes from Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia and South Africa, among others.

    Other artistes who will perform at the event include Iyanya, Stanley Enow, Flavour, Davido, Diamond Platinumz, Fally Ipupa, Wyre and Miriam Chemmoss, among others.

    WHEN pop legend, Tuface Idibia, released his hit track, Only Me, rumours were rife that it was directed at Chelsea footballer, Mikel Obi.

    However, during his performance at the fifth stage of Star Music Trek in Orlu, Imo State last Saturday, the award-winning singer said: “I know some people have been saying I sang this song because of Mikel Obi, but I didn’t. I didn’t sing this song because of him.”

    The legendary musician, who has been touring various cities with his live band on the popular pan Nigerian music tour, Star Music Trek, performed the hit song, which also happened to be an extremely popular favourite with fans.

    Laffmattazz set to rock Ibadan

    WITH a number of corporate organisations throwing their weights behind the fourth edition of Laffmattazz, a comedy show, the organisers have promised residents of Ibadan, Oyo State a fun-filled Easter.

    The annual comedy show packaged by celebrated comedian and compere, Gbenga Adeyinka, will hold on Sunday, April 20 at Kakanfo Inn, Ibadan, Oyo State.

    According to Adeyinka, “We are very careful with the packaging of this event because we want parents to feel comfortable watching this show with their young children this Easter. That is why we usually choose the artistes carefully and the brand we deal with.”

    The lineup of artistes billed to perform at the show include Tuface Idibia, MI, Wande Coal, 9ice, Julius Agwu, Alli Baba, Okey Bakasi, Lafup, Femi Adebayo and Fathia Williams Balogun, Jaywon and Capital Femi.

    The show is sponsored by Maltina, Sterling Bank, First Bank, Squadron, Action Bitters and Chams.

    Pregnancy rumour: Annie Idibia spits fire

    Reggae/pop artiste Tuface Idibia has denied rumours that he has impregnated a Lagos-based banker.

    Earlier in the week, a weekly tabloid reported that an Access Bank official is pregnant for the singer, a report which has left the artiste in a sour mood.

    The blog also reported that Tuface had pleaded with the lady to abort the pregnancy, promising to buy her a car.

    Though the artiste, on Monday, put up a series of tweets debunking the claim, his wife, Annie, appeared angrier at the particular blog, as she lashed out at the publishers.

    ‘Hope you have gotten all the traffic needed for your blog? There is no difference between you and the dumb Icon mag! Evil people trying to take the Suga out of our tea,’ she tweeted.

    Tuface, on the other hand, seemed to be taking it easy.

    “The world knows I’m an open book. If anything happens, na me go first tell una…”

    Until he got married to Annie last year, two ladies, Pero Adeniyi and Sumbo Ajaba, were in a fierce contest for the heart of the singer. At some point, both got pregnant with their second babies almost at the same time.

    ANNIE, Nollywood actress and better half of music sensation, Tuface Idibia, is definitely in high heavens. The mother of one has added another baby girl to the family of the multiple award-winning music star.

    Annie gave birth in far away Atlanta, U.S. The couple got married in March 2013, and already have a 5-year-old daughter, Isabella. The tinytot is Tuface’s seventh child having fathered other children from his previous babymamas, Sumbo Ajaba and Pero Adeniyi.

    LEADING Nigerian pop singer, Tuface Idibia, seems to be expanding his frontiers in the hospitality business as he recently opened another night club called Club Rumors in Festac, Lagos, to admiration of his fans.

    This was revealed via a post on one of his social media pages: “We don! Rumors Festac!! It’s official!! !st ave. Turn up turn up!! U are welcome!! Merry every.”

    It will be recalled that Tuface Idibia started his night club business with Rumors located in GRA area of Ikeja, Lagos.

    Spellz produced the remixed song, while Kunle Afolayan, an actor and producer, directed the music video.

    Wizkid and Femi Kuti: One of the top 10 songs of the year, Jaiye Jaiye, was the result of the celebrated collaboration between Wizkid and Afro-beat legend, Femi Kuti.

    The popular tune, which was produced by Sarz, was directed by Sesan.

    The video, which was shot in Lagos at the Afrika Shrine, featured a very creative cameo from Femi Kuti.
