    Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid, has finally released his long-awaited album, “MORAYO”, dedicated to his late mother.

    The singer took to social media to announce the album, confidently declaring it his best work yet. according to the gist arena.

    “MORAYO”, named after Wizkid’s mother, is a 12-track project that features collaborations with other Nigerian artists, including Shallipopi, Odumodublvck, and Omah Lay.

    Afrobeats artist, Wizkid, has paid tribute to his mother, Jane Morayo Balogun, on her first posthumous birthday.

    He expressed his heartfelt emotions via social media, lamenting the void her passing has left in his life.

    Wizkid revealed that he misses her every day and feels lost without her guidance.

    He wrote: “Happy birthday, love of my life! I miss you every day. The first one without you here feels unreal. Nothing makes sense without you, mama! Life is empty without you. Continue to watch over us! My heart is broken forever! Love you, love love you, MORAYO mi. Your smile is a memory I will never forget. Your laugh! Your hugs and kisses. I miss you dearly!”

    Wizkid has also announced an upcoming album titled ‘Morayo’ in her honour, though the release date remains undisclosed.

    Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid is a man of many parts and several people across the globe view him in the closest prism to them.

    At just 21, he had his first son and fatherhood scared him.

    He admitted this in an interview with Rolling Stone saying, “I wasn’t sure I was ready to be one. Fatherhood changed me, man. It’s like everything he said and more. When I had my first child, I was 21. I’ll never forget. I felt so lost, ’cause I wasn’t sure I was ready to be a father at that point.

    “I was scared I wasn’t going to be a good father to my kids ’cause I [was] still a baby. I was so confused. I remember after I had my child, it just changed everything, man. I started seeing my life differently.”

    He added that fatherhood really changed him and inspired him to put his business together to enable him take responsibility for his family at that time.

    “I literally started putting my business together after I had my kid. It just made me [think], ‘Oh, wow. Another life is here that I have to care for. That’s my responsibility. So he (Boluwatife) really changed my life, man, and I called him Boluwatife: ‘As God wishes.’ That was a big blessing to my life. Fatherhood changed me forever.”

    Speaking further on fatherhood in another interview, Wizkid said, “It [being a father] has changed me a lot. I am grown; lots of love in my heart fuels me to keep going; that is the drive, the only drive to keep me going.”

    At 33-years-old, Wizkid has a weakness and interestingly, the superstar says his four sons – Boluwatife, Ayodeji, Zion and AJ – are his weakness in life.

    In a 2023 interview, Wizkid said, “My kids are my kryptonite.”

    Continuing, he said, “My family, my kids, I just feel blessed to be their father, take care of them; God put me in that position, it is the biggest blessing in the world, being able to recreate.’’

    Unlike what many may think of his ability to raise children considering his busy itinerary and lifestyle, Wizkid is devoted and dedicated to raising his four sons despite the three different women that bore him his four sons.

    “I’m trying to raise champions,” Wizkid remarks about his children. “I instil that into their minds […] that God has put them here on purpose.”

    At every opportunity availed him, Wizkid demonstrates his love for his children in unique ways. One of such ways is by getting tattoos of their faces on his leg. The Grammy award winner proudly displays images of his four sons in photos that have been permaanently etched on his legs with ink.

    Wizkid’s first child, Boluwatife Balogun, was born to Shola Ogudugu; his second son, Ayo Jr., was born to Binta Diamond, who lives in the US; and his other two sons were born to his current partner and manager, Jada Pollock.
