The N50 PoS fee

CAN the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) wash its hands of the N50 point of sale (PoS) charge customers have been forced to pay on every transaction since November 1? The answer is no.

The CBN is as guilty as the banks and the merchants that have been collecting this illegal charge. After over 55 days of making us pay the illegal charge, CBN is just coming around to tell us to reject it.

Why did CBN wait this long to clear the air over this issue? It knows what to do to get the merchants to stop collecting the illegal charge.

The CBN should do the needful rather than set the public against the merchants and the banks. It should come to the public with clean hands.
