When will my palliative arrive?

Sir: It was with much enthusiasm that I received a text a few days into the current lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic in Lagos State.

The message was very clear: ‘Dear Mr Amupitan, the Lagos State Government has chosen you as one of the registered residents of the state to benefit from the state’s ‘Emergency Food Response Package’.

Kindly send ‘Switch Yes’ to 7447 if your LASRRA registered address: 14 Association Avenue…, Lagos is still valid for delivery of the package…’

I immediately sent the demanded ‘Switch Yes’. But six weeks after, I have received no response, no acknowledgement, and no palliatives.

Kindly help me tell the appropriate authority that am still waiting for the promised palliative. Or is it just an expensive joke – at a time of great general distress, deprivation and lack – upon an elderly taxpayer, who had not asked anybody for any help?
