More facts have emerged on why several days after the passage of the Amotekun bill by Osun House of Assembly, it is yet to be assented to by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

A source within the Governor’s office confided in the Nation that the bill, though passed by the Assembly, is yet to be transmitted to the Governor for assent.

The media aide to Osun Speaker, Kunle Alabi, told our correspondent that the bill has been passed since last Tuesday but added that some administrative work delayed its transmission to the Governor.

He, however, added that the work has been completed and the bill transmitted to the governor recently.

His words: “The Amotekun bill has been passed by the House of Assembly last week and we need to conduct some administrative work on the bill before we transmit it to Osun State governor for his assent.

“House of Assembly has been doing the administrative work since it was passed.

“Before the bill would be transmitted to the governor for his assent, we have to finish the administrative work and that delayed us from transmitting it to the Governor.

“We have just completed the administrative work, so the bill has been transmitted to the Governor for his assent. The bill will be signed by the governor very soon,” he concluded

Efforts to reach Chief Press Secretary to Osun State governor, Mr. Ismail Omipidan, proved abortive.
