Women entrepreneur group inaugurated in Ogun

The Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Business Women Group (NAWORG) has inaugurated new executive for the Ogun State chapter, with the investiture of its patron and matron.

The new members of the executive are Mrs. Cynthia Saka (Coordinator), Alhaja Kilani Dawood (first Deputy Coordinator); Mrs. Jumoke Akinlolu-Okoya (second Deputy Coordinator), Mrs. Ibidunmi Bakare (Financial Secretary), Miss Temitope Kayode-Adedeji (Secretary), Mrs. Krystie Kayode-Ogun (Assistant Secretary), Bolaji Olopade (Public Relations Officer) and Alhaja Fatimo Olaleye (Treasurer).

Global Convener of NAWORG Iyalode Alaba Lawson said the launch of a new chapter in Ogun State is in recognition of the many industrious women in the state operating in different sectors of the economy, in pursuing the mandate of the group which is to empower women to contribute to the economy, nation-building as well as the inclusion of women in decision-making.

Mrs. Saka noted that women have been able to impact lives and contribute to the growth of the economy. They can achieve more while working together and pool their resources, sharing experiences and networking positively.

She promised that the Ogun State chapter will impact in greatest measures on the lives of the citizens and to its development.

Prof. Helen Bodunde of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, called on women to explore opportunities in agribusiness. Prof Modupe Adelabu of the National Board for Technical Education gave a talk on “Prospect and Challenges in Becoming a Woman Entrepreneur”.

Present at the event were NAWORG Grand Patron and wife of Ogun State Governor, Dr. Mrs. Olufunsho Amosun, Patron Alhaji Tunji Labode and Matron Chief Mrs. Adesola Adebutu.
