Determined to the teeth to make a resounding difference in the music industry worldwide, US-based singer-songwriter Fester Gbieor, popularly known as Yungfester has continued to soar.
For Yungfester, his music sojourn started officially in September 2017, with the release of a soothing song titled Blessings.
The song touched the audience primarily because of its concept to which they could relate. As the song became widely loved and accepted all over the world, Yungfester went ahead to release a few more, which were equally adored. One of his most popular songs, Ezi Nwanyi, gained his stardom, and there was no looking back from then on.
Born in Monrovia, Liberia, Fester Gbieor a.k.a Yungfester has keenly been interested in music ever since his childhood. And, not long after, he decided to take the professional route. While the journey has not been a cakewalk, he has definitely starting to make his presence felt.
His social media handles are flooded with positive reviews and appreciation, which reflects the quality of his songs and growing popularity.
The multi-talented act had fled Liberia, his native country during the civil war, and had lived with his mother and siblings in Cote d’Ivoire for some years before relocating to America after his mother won the Diversity Visa Lottery.
While he has a degree and works as a building contractor, his mind never went off on pursuing a career in music.
“I started playing a musical instrument back in 2012. My friend used to teach me how to play the piano after church. Then during church services, he would put me behind the piano and made me play. Ever since I fell in love with music, particularly African music,” he said.
Continuing he added: “In 2017 after I graduated from the Police Skills Program, I created my first record titled “Blessings” to appreciate the blessings in my life. Since then, I never looked back,” he shared his success story.

The musician said he is inspired by the crop of Nigerian artistes currently making waves, singling out the Laye crooner, Kizz Daniel as his idol.
“I currently look up to Kizz Daniel. He’s a testimony of what success looks like. I admire the guy so much as an artiste I hope to collaborate with him someday. I do like other artists, but none of them compares to Kizz”, he said.
Stating his belief that the journey to music fame is not an overnight miracle, he said: “You have to know that this is what you really want. You cannot join in and expect that your first, second, or third track is going to blow and you’ll become rich overnight. Although some are fortunate to have had that happen to them, it’s not the case all the time.”
YungFester has just also dropped some of his much-anticipated releases, ‘Chunk Me Away’, Kolo, which have been gaining massive airplay in Nigeria and across the globe.
